  1. I always thought that CBS had the best football broadcast of the major networks. Their coverage of the SEC was clean (and biased). Now we get that treatment…thank you very much ESPN/ABC! Of course, Keith Jackson and our Dan Fouts are the best collage football announcing team in the history of college football.
  2. The CBS Sports commentators, including Slick Rick, were very complimentary about Dillon Gabriel and what he could do this year in Oregon's offense under OC Will Stein ("match made in Heaven"). One of the commentators, a Texas alum, is glad that his team won't have to face Dillion Gabriel during the regular season. * 125 TDs (42 last year, including 12 rushing TDs) to only 26 interceptions * Makes great decisions - hasn't thrown more than 6 interceptions in a season * May be the best running QB at Oregon since Marcus Mariota - can pick up first downs and TDs with his legs * Great teammate, confident, not cocky * Look out Big-10!
  3. There should be immediate playing time available at Oregon, if he can come in ready...
  4. Good theme. I agree with most of your picks (although you cheated a little by picking multiple players): 1. Dillon Gabriel: DG fills the most important position in football and has the potential to be even better than Bo Nix, IMHO. Dillon proved last year that he can win the BIG one carrying Oklahoma over Texas. 2. Jabbar Muhammad: We all saw how Oregon’s defense struggled last season when Kyrie Jackson was banged up. While we have depth at CB, I’m not sure we had a lock down corner on our roster who can go up against the other team’s #1 receiver. Jabbar is that guy. 3. Derrick Harmon: Entering the B1G, Oregon desperately needed that run stopper in the middle. Derrick completes the d-line and will allow those behind him to play better. Honorable mention: Atticus Sappington (PK): Hopefully we don’t even notice him this season but we’ve all suffered through some bad place kickers over the years in Eugene. Atticus was one of the best in the nation last year making 13 of his 14 attempts. It’s a bonus that we got him from Oregon State on our way out of the PAC-12… I didn’t include Evan Stewart because Oregon’s WR room is loaded. However, I would be surprised if he doesn’t have over 1,000 yards this season and he brings that down the field threat.
  5. Broncos QB Nix leads four scoring drives in preseason debut - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Rookie Bo Nix led the Broncos on four scoring drives in the five possessions he played Sunday...
  6. I'm hoping that Oregon makes the playoff (I don't care if they have 2 or 3 losses), is playing their best football late in the season and wins it all!
  7. It was really fun to watch the "old guys" - LeBron, Steph and KD carry Team USA. The rest of the world has clearly caught up but you can tell how much these guys wanted it. Fun to watch. U S A!!!
  8. Love the O! However, Oregon has gone away from it from time to time. It should always be prominent on our uniforms and/or helmets. I personally dislike the winged helmets and logo.
  9. “Fans turned Colorado's horribly edited 'Darts Only' Shedeur Sanders video into the first big meme of the season” https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/fans-turned-colorados-horribly-edited-183254876.html LOL.
  10. Giants’ Kayvon Thibodeaux: ‘It’s scary how Penei manhandles us’ WWW.YAHOO.COM New York Giants’ defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux isn’t afraid of much. He’s certainly not afraid to...
  11. I was bummed for Dillon Gabriel (and the other players from the South Pacific) that this year’s game in Hawaii had to be canceled. I’m sure that they were looking to play at “home” in front of family and friends.
  12. Please take note, he said his name was “The Duck”, not Puddles during the intro. Hopefully that settles it once and for all.
  13. I can’t wait to see what Oregon’s offense is able to do against the B1G defenses this year. That said, it will probably take years for the majority of B1G teams to transition to modern offenses.
  14. Didn’t Tennessee just flip an Oregon commitment? Must be nice without offering an NIL…
  15. Thanks for the article. The title might be a bit misleading. Perhaps intentionally to be provocative? We can only hope that Oregon is able to establish big leads, forcing teams to be one-dimensional and then getting turnovers. However, I hope that Lanning and Tupoi being the Georgia and Alabama defensive philosophies to Eugene. Those defenses are stacked with NFL talent (their front sevens just look different), relentless and smothering, trying to get the opposing offense off the field as soon as possible. I’ll take the turnovers but, please, no more bend-but-don’t-break defenses. A stop on defense (especially a 3-and-out) and punt is just as good as a turnover, IMHO. NA was also a bit too inflexible and did not adjust his scheme/play calling for the talent on D. I still feel bad for those young corners that he insisted on playing man, who were consistently beat deep series after series (note: they turned into good CBs by their junior/senior seasons, if IIRC). As you pointed out, Lanning and Tosh already proved that they are adaptable in the first season at Oregon. It will be interesting to see how the defense plays this year and if they can continue to make steady progress to Lanning and Lupoi’s vision. GO DUCKS!!!
  16. That has to be alarming to Texas fans. When USC was on top under Pete Carroll, he had Southern California locked down. You have to win your backyard, if you want to remain a top team in a fertile recruiting ground.
  17. Tinker was Michael Jordan’s designer and had a hand in many of Oregon’s football facilities, as an architect.
  18. I just wish Oregon was allowed to retain 100% of its bowl/college football playoff earnings, if we had to take a 50% share of the TV distributions.
  19. If you had to pick one weakness for Oregon, what would you choose and why?
  20. As I mentioned, the reporter (probably an Ohio State beat reporter) was asking Dillon Gabriel leading questions during the interview. I don't think his interest in Ohio State was as much as the articles are making it out to be. Given the Marcus Mariota/Hawaii tie and seeing what Bo Nix was able to do as a transfer QB on Oregon's system, I wouldn't doubt that Oregon was his preferred destination. Dillon Gabriel seems to be extremely happy to be a Duck!
  21. I listened to the interview at the B1G media days and the reporter was really leading Dillon Gabriel. Not sure how serious he considered Ohio State.
  22. If true, I’m fine with him going elsewhere and I’m sure that our coaches are, as well. He might be uber talented but we want players who want to be at Oregon and aren’t here only for the NIL money. The goal is to win a national championship. We need talented players who are all in, are good teammates and willing to work their tails off. GO DUCKS!
