  1. I'll have to add another key to victory in big games from here on out: 5) No questionable coaching decisions by Coach Lanning that sacrifice points for Oregon, kill momentum or give the other team excellent field position.
  2. I hope that Oregon has another good placekicker on the team because some players never recover from this... Tough way for Bo Nix and the Oregon Ducks to lose, giving them no room for error the rest of the way.
  3. What a heartbreaking way to lose. Think DL will be asked about giving up a potential 6 points? Never trust a kicker...
  4. I can't believe that they ruled that incomplete on the field! Pac-12 refs are the worst!!!
  5. Great. I'm adding it to my dictionary!!!
  6. Third defensive stop in a row!!!! Great goal-line D!!!!
  7. That's one reason I'm excited to leave the Pac-12...
  8. Did anyone else see Lanning's smirk after the last TD?
  9. Keep pounding the rock...Washington can't stop it! Let's go D. Your turn!
  10. Big 3rd and short to start the 4th quarter. Oregon has been relying on the pass too often on short yardage situations, IMHO. Hope they run it between the tackles with Bucky or James.
  11. Nice job, defense. Keeping Oregon in the game.
  12. 21-29 looks better than 18-29, only down by a TD and 2 point conversion.
  13. I love Lanning but he's going to have a lot to answer for with those two fourth down attempts, giving up 6 points, if Oregon loses this game.
  14. Washington is dictating the game on both sides of the ball. Oregon seems more reactive so far.
  15. Ugly game. Hopefully the Ducks can keep it close/respectable.
  16. Thanks for the classy post, SoGaDawg. I don’t feel too bad for Georgia and I’m sure that your defense will be just fine. You have to leave some of these top defensive players for the Ducks…😜
  17. Wow! What a HUGE pickup for Dan Lanning, Tosh and staff!!! It’s not often that teams beat Georgia head-to-head for a defensive player. Lannig realizes that you win big games in the trenches at the line of scrimmage, and he and the staff have the ability to go out and get these players. Congratulations to the staff and welcome to Oregon Breland!
  18. That’s pretty freakin’ cool. I’m fired up and I’m not even playing tomorrow…
  19. I love the matchups that you pointed out. My keys to victory: 1) Win the turnover battle. Oregon has been great at protecting the ball this season and this needs to continue. Against evenly matched teams this is especially important as we don’t want to give Penix and company any extra opportunities. 2) Minimize penalties, especially those that put the offense behind the chains (e.g., false starts, offensive holding) or extend drives (e.g., personal fouls). We have improved in this department but if we have as many penalties as we did against Texas Tech., then Oregon probably loses this game. 3) Limit explosion plays. This absolutely killed Oregon last year but, as Charles pointed out, we have an entirely new unit this season and they have been great at limiting explosion plays and yards after the catch (YAC). 4) Establish the run. Washington’s defense has not been good against the run. Oregon needs to be establish the run early, which enabling Oregon to control time of possession (keeping Penix and Co. on the sideline) and taking pressure off of Nix (who hasn’t been as efficient on the road, in hostile environments).
  20. I would also receive against Washington since they don’t have a great defense. If you can run the ball, efficiently marching down the field, taking half the first quarter (while keeping Penix and Co. on the sideline) and score a TD on the opening possession, it could be demoralizing to the Huskies and their fans. That said, I don’t think that Dan Lanning will defer from his approach regardless of opponent.
