Jordan Addison Not Happy With Trojans?
I hope that Riley and staff are eventually investigated for tampering or illegally reaching out to players. He is as sleazy as USC. Word will also spread that Riley and USC do not keep their recruiting promises and cannot be trusted. Past Oregon coaches avoided making promises for this very reason. They only committed to giving a recruit an opportunity to compete, etc. I’m sure that Oregon could make the room for another WR...

Please don’t do that to me...you had me ecstatic for a few seconds. Singing Moore and Young would be a dream class.

SEC & Oklahoma State?
What's the draw of Oklahoma State for the SEC? They already have Oklahoma. Seems like there are much bigger fish in the ACC.

One can only hope but perhaps he is just keeping the suspense high?

What is so Special About Notre Dame Football?
I don't know but I believe that perception of the program among high school recruits and coaches, consistent success on the field and interest/viewership are more important (note: these are all related).

Canzano: Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff's Legacy Hinges on What Happens Next
There is probably a reason the B1G, ACC and Pac-12 did not include the Big XII in the "alliance." I believe that the Big XII is the last option for the Pac teams, including the Arizona schools, Utah and Colorado. The other Pac schools should wait to see how things shake out and explore all of their options. It's not like the Big XII is going to say "no thanks" in 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years.

Don't forget about Stanford. Can't believe that they've disappeared.

5-Star QB Dante Moore to Oregon!
Oregon Ducks get commitment from QB Dante Moore, No. 8 college football recruit for 2023 WWW.ESPN.COM QB Dante Moore, who is the No. 8 overall recruit in the 2023 ESPN 300 and the No. 3 pocket-passer, has committed to play for... "'I called Coach Dillingham and asked if they were joining the Big 10, and he said they didn't know yet,' Moore said. 'Coach Lanning and all the coaches and everybody didn't have much input on it, but if they do join them or join the Big 12 or whatever it is, I know we'll be in a big conference for us to keep competing and be the best we could be.'" ------------------------------------------------------------- I would be shocked if Coach Lanning was not being kept in the loop on conference re-alignment and asked for his thoughts. Usually you'll keep your top employees informed and ask for their input, so that they feel a part of the process, especially since conference realignment is being driven by football.

Canzano: Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff's Legacy Hinges on What Happens Next
It would have been nice for USC (and UCLA) to have been upfront with George and the Pac-12 conference, instead of secretly doing this behind their backs. Perhaps the Pac-12 could have come up with a solution to keep the LA schools in the conference, including uneven revenue shares. By the time it was leaked, it was too late. I completely blame Larry Scott, FOX and USC for the situation that the Pac is now facing. George has an uphill battle to climb. If the B1G or SEC (unlikely) calls, I don't see Oregon staying and taking ~$30M less per year in television revenues.

Agreed, Dante came off as very mature on TV.

Hopefully Bo Nix since he will likely be the starter next year! Then it'll be a battle...

What is so Special About Notre Dame Football?
I don't consider Nebraska, Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Washington, et al blue bloods. These programs haven't done anything recently and the high school recruits weren't alive the last time they were relevant on the national level. USC and Notre Dame have at least played in some big BCS/playoff games, and USC won a national championship under Carroll. USC benefits from being in the LA market but really haven't added anything to the Pac-12 other than that.

Woohoo! Huge pickup for Oregon!!!! Welcome to Eugene, Dante!!!!

What is so Special About Notre Dame Football?
Notre Dame is still a big draw for TV and attendance, and top teams line up to get an opportunity to play the Irish. My guess is that the affiliation with the Catholic church and legacy drives this, as it is certainly not their performance on the field. I love watching a highly rated Notre Dame get destroyed year-after-year in the bowl game/playoffs.

Canzano: Alleged Sins of Jody Allen Dusted Off Amid Phil Knight Offer for Blazers
"In October 2021, Forbes listed the Portland Trail Blazers' value at $2.05 billion." It appears that Phil Knight's offer of $2B was a fair offer. I'd have to believe that PK would be a far better owner. From all accounts, he is super competitive and would invest to put a winner on the court. Perhaps with his connections, Portland would also have a shot at signing some of the top free agents, especially Nike athletes? Don't be surprised when Lillard leaves this clown show. The die-hard fans will be losers.

Reports Suggest Oregon, Washington Unlikely to Join Big Ten
I believe that the Pac-10 / ACC alliance is the next best alternative to the B1G and SEC. However, the proposed television revenues are a fraction of those other conferences and Oregon may be better off taking a fraction of the B1G TV revenue share for a period of time.

Potential ACC/P12 TV Partnership
Wouldn't the $1B have been split between 14 schools (prior to the addition of the LA schools), resulting in an average payout of $71M per school?

Reports Suggest Oregon, Washington Unlikely to Join Big Ten
I agree. Especially if you want to prevent the remaining big time programs from joining the B1G and SEC, when they get an opportunity. Below is one thought on how you could allocate the TV dollars: 1) Only sign a TV agreement for the conference games + championship. Split the regular session games evenly among the conference teams. 2) Allow schools to negotiate and keep the TV proceeds from non-conference games. If Oregon wants to play at a “neutral” site game against Georgia or Auburn, why should Washington State or any other conference school share in those proceeds? Perhaps CBS or NBC would pony up the money to cover this game. 3) For conference championship, bowl games and playoff games, allow the participating team to keep 50% of the proceeds and distribute the remaining equally among the remaining conference schools. You could do the same for the NCAA basketball tournament. Why should Oregon State share equally if Arizona makes a deep run in the basketball tournament or if Utah plays in the college football playoffs? Those teams made the investments in their programs and deserve something extra for their success.

Are We Even Sure Things Are That Bad?
Oregon could just schedule out of conference games against these teams. That way we don’t have to dilute the pitiful TV revenue further and we still get to play in SoCal. Another, bolder, move would be to schedule big neutral site games in LA or SD! Alabama vs. Oregon in SoFi?
-
Are We Even Sure Things Are That Bad?
I agree. Perhaps I am now just in the “acceptance” phase. If Oregon continues to win, we’ll attract recruits and be in the playoff conversation. We may need to schedule at least one top out of conference opponent per year (this is where the alliance with the ACC could help) and we could schedule games against lower tier Southern California schools, if playing near home is that important to recruits. The boosters and collective might need to step up to new heights to make up for the shortfall in TV revenue and bring in the blue chip recruits. Unless the B1G adds some more West coast schools that travel to cold weather destinations is going to get old real fast. Word will spread, as recruits will see Oregon playing in Arizona, the Bay Area and perhaps the SE (Miami, South Carolina).

Canzano: Pac-12 Getting Itself Back Out There After Being Burned
I think the risk with this is that the top ACC teams would then be free to leave for the SEC or B1G.
