  1. I guess will see if this comes out to be true. After what we know of the new media deal, I'm sure this will be true. As much as we were hopeful the the Pac-12 would have been able to put together a great deal, but sadly they didn't. Hopefully an offer can't come soon enough for Oregon to leave for the Big Ten. ASU appears closer than ever to leaving the Pac-12 and joining the Big XII The Pac-12's meeting of its remaining nine university leaders that took place on Tuesday, August 1st, presented the proposed media deal for the conference. The low financial expectations of that agreement were sadly confirmed at that time, the same expectations that forced the University of Colorado's decision last week to leave for the Big 12 conference. Any voices who claimed that action in Boulder to be one of haste have undoubtedly been muted this week and for a good reason. As we learned throughout Wednesday from individuals with knowledge of the situation, three of the Buffs' old Pac-12 South foes are poised to follow suit and are planning, as of July of 2024 to make the Big 12 their destination as well. Arizona State, the University of Arizona, and the University of Utah are resolute in their decision to leave the Pac-12, and the Big 12 is expected to vote on those school additions in the next 48 hours. 3. Why Oregon football is practicing during the hottest part of the day Part of that process is holding practices late in the afternoon — typically the hottest time of the day — instead in the morning as the case was last season. “I like having the ability to have meetings and walk-throughs in the morning with an install fresh on your mind before you go into afternoon where you’re on the field,” Lanning said. “I think having the heat up is good for us early in the season when we can train in harder environments. … Later on when we get into our class schedule we’ll transition back to morning.” Day one of year two in the Dan Lanning-era began Wednesday under a hot afternoon sun and temperatures reaching 90 degrees. 4. This is being hit all over the media. Along with What Canzano was saying as well. It looks to be legit. 5. Oregon, Washington, Stanford and Cal on block next? I get it. Television is a business. Media companies have profits to turn and money to make. But in the end, I’m left wondering if TV cares about the wreckage the industry is causing in pursuit of it. The Pac-12 is in trouble. The conference has made some strategic errors, blown the messaging and overplayed its hand. But it still has a line of wonderful schools, excellent brands, good media markets and talented college football teams. So why is TV reluctant to buy it? Interesting? According to Canzano: "On Wednesday, the Big Ten Conference presidents reportedly opened preliminary talks to explore additional expansion. They may decide to add Oregon, Washington, Stanford and Cal. It’s early there. They’re just exploring. But it’s a full-on chess game now, being played by a merry band of pirates." But at what cost? Some major truth to what he is saying. We all thought it and spoke of it. I felt what he expressed was in all of our hearts as fans. I'm glad he used the word "Icky" in his piece. Because that's how I feel about it all. Canzano: TV picking apart college football WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Oregon, Washington, Stanford and Cal on block next?
  6. Knowing our coaches and their recruiting prowess, this will most likely become a big time steal!
  7. The spoiled brats South of us are wallowing in their own self worth. USC and UCLA wouldn't make it on their own laurels except for happen chance being in the LA market. Otherwise Big Ten and Fox wouldn't give a hoot who they are. Both schools haven't been prominent, carry their weight in this conference for years! Oregon and their donors pushed the envelope, never settling for mediocrity, finding ways to be better, to become a household name amongst recruits across the college landscape. Oregon's motto should always be from the movie 'Field of Dreams'..."If You Build It He Will Come" Just a slight change in the saying, for Oregon, "If You Build It They Will Come." That's what's happening at Oregon, now a National Brand, offering the total package for a student athlete in sports and academics. Maybe that is what they hate the most, Oregon has grown out from under them. Have our own identity outside of USC's banner, a threat to their existence. This is what drew Dan Lanning to Oregon and why he chooses to stay for a long time. He believes in Oregon and what they're achieving. He believes Oregon can bring home a national championship. Yes, I've grown weary of the brats down under. May we always be a thorn in their side for years to come in recruiting and on the field this year and beyond! Go Ducks, Fly High!!.

For the second time in as many days, the Ducks have landed a commitment from a Rivals250 prospect in the 2025 class. 17. Wow, talking about calling the kettle black. TROJANSWIRE off base in their so-called speculations that not necessarily are true, but they could be? So let's play the innocents card while throwing shade towards Oregon and Washington on the demise of the Pact-12. Suggesting that Oregon's only hope to get into the Big Ten is for the Pac-12 to perish. One statement you could possibly take away from this article to be more truth than fiction is this..."George Kliavkoff’s game theory and his calibration of priorities and first tasks was simply horrible throughout this process. 18. Colorado's return to the Big 12 is more of a bandage than a long-term solution Colorado retuning to the Big 12 feels more like radiation than a cure. I know our attention spans get shorter by the day, but to say the Big 12 "won" ignores all the losses in recent years. We can't forget why the Big 12 was desperate to poach Colorado from the Pac=12 and why it's still actively looking to expand. It has to: Why Big 12 luring Colorado back from Pac-12 is just a short-term solution with larger issues on the horizon - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Colorado's return to the Big 12 is more of a bandage than a long-term solution PD posted this podcast. It's a good listen. If you haven't done so, here it is. Hopefully the Pac-12 heeds the warning signs and begin to take a more aggressive approach. While waiting to seal the media deal, they need to expand now with an SMU invite for the 2024 year and SDSU for the 2025 year. We need a 10th school for the 2024 year. SMU can join with no restrictions and they have the donors to do it. SDSU can then give the MW notice they are leaving for the 2025 year. This gives their conference enough time to evade the higher exit fee. Canzano & Wilner: The Podcast Colorado announced it was leaving the Pac-12 for the Big 12 this week. 20. Interesting, in the article PD posted, there is the section talking about Oregon's option joining the Big 12: "There have been rumors floating around that the Ducks and Washington Huskies were meeting with Big 12 presidents this week, potentially discussing a move. While we need to wait for things to be confirmed before sounding the alarm, I think that it is at least smart to consider a world in which Oregon heads to the Big 12 instead of the Big Ten." 22. Of course, rumors will start flying around who that mystery school will be. Pac-12 football: Who is the “mystery” program that could join Colorado? To me, that means teams outside of Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. That leaves programs such as Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Cal, and Stanford. A lot of people are guessing Oregon. That would be a huge move for the Ducks and that could very well be the case, but the “surprise” factor makes me think it’s not Oregon because that’s what everyone is guessing. Washington is also another popular guess. But if I were a betting man, I’d bet that we may see those two in the Big Ten in the coming years if the Pac-12 completely falls apart. A surprise team could be Oregon State or Cal or Stanford. All three of those would surprise me. In the end, Oregon is a strong contender and so is Washington, especially if both of those programs are worried about riding a sinking ship. DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Which Pac-12 team feels the best about their RB room going forward?
  24. That is what I was thinking as well. Let's face it, there is know way BIG would be thinking adding more schools during this contractual period. It would be a logistical nightmare scheduling more schools, besides the money isn't there to do so. If we think about it, would it even be profitable for a conference to go beyond 16 teams? Scheduling and the availability for a team to climb high enough in that conference to make the playoffs? I'm not sure if it is? Not to mention the number of time spots available.
  25. Washington State's Ron Stone Jr. speaks out. Last week, Stone Jr. and I spoke in person again. This time about greed and the game’s twisted landscape. He told me about being approached in the offseason by collectives that tried to lure him away from Pullman with a pile of NIL money. “It kind of kills it for some players,” Stone Jr. said. “Everyone is chasing the financial gain and not the actual football gain, the athletic opportunity. It’s ‘Who can pay me more?’ and not ‘Who can play me more?’ It’s not ‘What scheme fits me better?’ It’s ‘Which car is better?’” As long as college athletics is asking for congressional intervention on the matter, it ought to put Stone Jr. in front of a subcommittee.
