Checking in with the Oregon Ducks TE room ahead of the 2025 season Let's take a closer look at the tight-ends as we prepare for fall camp. The Oregon Ducks saw one of the best tight ends in program history, Terrance Ferguson, leave for the NFL after the 2024 season. Despite that, you'd be hard-pressed to find many fans who aren't arguably more excited to see what's to come at the position in 2025, with all due respect to Ferguson. It's Kenyon Sadiq season in Eugene, and expectations are high for the junior TE who has been touted as one of the best players on the team and one of the best tight ends in the nation. He's shown flashes of brilliance over the past two years, and now, as the clear-cut TE1 — and with a bigger role due to the Evan Stewart injury — the runway is clear for takeoff. Oregon Ducks' Emotional Tribute To Honor Fallen Teammates
As part of the Oregon Ducks closing the summer off season, the team hikes Spencer Butte in honor of fallen teammates Khyree Jackson and Spencer Webb before beginning fall camp. Ducks coach Dan Lanning addressed the team in a video posted on social media. For the third year in a row, the Oregon Ducks football team came together for a hike to honor two passed former Ducks: tight end Spencer Webb and cornerback Khyree Jackson. "So look, we do this every single year," Lanning said at the top of the butte. "Some of you guys know, some of you don't know, why we do that. We have a fallen brother. Spencer Webb. We have another fallen brother, Khyree Jackson, that don't get to sit where you're sitting right now. Part of this team, lost too soon and we don't get the opportunity to enjoy that moment with them anymore so part of this is remembrance for those guys who were a part of our team. Once you're part of our team, you're forever a part of our team." "The other piece that you walk away with is that this is the end of summer," Lanning continued. "We just finished our summer workout and right now you should have a sense of accomplishment. But you've also got to realize there's more on that plate to eat and you want to finish the plate." Elite Recruit Davon Benjamin Reveals Finalists, Sets Commitment Date Four-star safety recruit Davon Benjamin has revealed the final five programs in his recruitment: the Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, Washington Huskies, and North Carolina Tar Heels. The elite recruit has also scheduled a commitment date. He recently took three official visits, starting with Oregon in Eugene on June 13, Texas in Austin on June 6, and Michigan in Ann Arbor on May 31. “Really was just trying to, for the last time, let’s see if this is really the spot that I could see myself in, or another position. Get up there, just get the last feel for it, because this is the last official visit of my lifetime. Just getting up there one more time, see the school that’s been there from the start. Once I got up there and saw what I needed to see, it was all good.” - Davon Benjamin on Oregon via On3 Oregon co-defensive coordinator Chris Hampton has been Benjamin's primary recruiter for the 5-11.5, 170-pound defensive back, along with the help of coach Dan Lanning and running backs coach Rashad Wadood. “It’s really good to be honest. I talked to Dan (Lanning), (Rashad) Wadood, the other day. Pretty much, they treat me like little bro up there. Tyler Atkinson chosen Texas as the school he will be attending. Five-Star LB Tyler Atkinson could be Dan Lanning’s biggest recruiting win yet Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have been rolling on the recruiting trail this offseason, and they might not be done just yet. With two five-star recruits already committed for the class of 2026, Oregon now has its sights set on linebacker Tyler Atkinson—one of the top prospects in the country. According to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals and On3, Atkinson will announce his decision live on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, July 15. Most signs point to Georgia as the favorite, but don’t count out the Ducks. They’re already sitting at No. 12 in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings for 2026, and landing Atkinson would send them surging even higher. If he picks the Ducks, Atkinson would become the highest-rated player in the Ducks’ class—just ahead of five-star safety Jett Washington, who’s ranked No. 18 nationally. Landing both would give Lanning a serious boost on the defensive side of the ball, and a foundation to chase something bigger. That kind of momentum on defense would be hard to ignore. For a program that’s consistently been in the mix but still searching for its first national title, stacking elite talent like this is how that next step gets taken.
