  4. The Oregon Ducks have been among the hottest teams in the nation so far this year, and while they have not played elite competition thus far, they've looked practically flawless in the eight quarters of football that we've seen thus far. Because of that, a lot of national buzz has started to come over the last week, following a 69-3 blowout over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Now they go on the road for the first time this season and kick off Big Ten Conference play with a game against the Northwestern Wildcats. It's another game that features a four-score point spread, and one that will have a different feel to it, thanks to the 9 a.m. PT kickoff and the fact that it will be played on a converted lacrosse stadium that seats 12,000 fans. So far, we've broken down the matchup, looked at some major players to know for the opponent, and covered the injury news heading into Saturday. Now it's time to make some predictions. To preview the game, we go through our weekly roundtable with the writers from Ducks Wire to offer our opinions and predictions for what's to come. Here’s our first roundtable of the year. 5. "He’s an elite passer," Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein told me when discussing Dante Moore in a recent phone conversation, "and there are certain things I can’t teach. God gave him the ability to throw the ball when he was born, and we try to capitalize on his skill sets with our passing game and with our approach every single game." 7. Ducks started out slow last year and winded up running the table, being the conference champion. But I believe our Ducks can beat PSU. CBS analyst Crawford predicts doom for the Ducks in 'harsh reality' forecastNot so fast, my friend. The CBS Sports pundit is accurate generally but shoddy in the specifics. Penn State will be an imposing test, though a few paragraphs down he takes the Nittany Lions to task for their lackluster execution in two wins over cupcakes. 13. Dan Lanning Reacts to Oregon Ducks Fans Asking for Inflatable Duck AppearanceWading above the White River rapids in Indiana, an inflatable version of the Oregon Duck mascot stunned fans at Big Ten media days last year. Dan Lanning answers if the inflatable will make a visit outside of Martin Stadium for Oregon vs Northwestern. Though Lanning didn't consider the massive balloon, the Northwestern Wildcats sure did. Northwestern head coach David Braun even addressed the potential of the giant Duck floating outside of Martin Stadium when previewing the matchup against Oregon. “I have thought about that,” Braun said. “We’re going to have to figure something out. We can’t have any ducks floating around on game day.” The venue is surrounded on three sides by Lake Michigan, and is a part of Northwestern's Lakefront Athletics and Recreation Complex making it the perfect venue to bring a giant water-based statement if you're an opposing team. “It’s been amazing seeing duck fans so quickly adopt into the Oregon flock. Oregon is always ready to make a big splash and is consistently innovative with their marketing, and we wanted to do something that would turn heads," said Jacobi Mehringer and Andrew Chhour of Oregon-based ad agency Wieden + Kennedy, the minds behind the giant Duck. The marketing agency also teased future projects with the program. We’re going to keep showing up in mighty different ways in the coming months,” the agency said shortly after the Indianapolis promotion. “So stay tuned.” Oregon Ducks On SIDan Lanning Reacts to Oregon Ducks Fans Asking for Inflat...Just a year ago, an inflatable Oregon Duck drifting on the White River in Indianapolis shocked fans visiting the Ducks' first Big Ten Media Days. 14. There’s a new era underway in Eugene, Oregon — and it’s being led by two rising stars who share the same last name and sky-high expectations. Double Trouble: Dante and Dakorien Moore are Oregon's Next Superstar Duo
  15. Motivated by last year's poor start, this Oregon O-Line looks the part early Offensive line play wasn't up to standard through two weeks last season. This year's group has been significantly better to this point. Why's that? Iapani Laloulu weighed in on Wednesday.
  16. These Ducks are different: Dak is not DATIt might surprise some fans to know that Moore is actually faster than Thomas was as a Duck. Thomas' best time in the 100 meters was 10.52. Moore ran a 10.4 as a prep. He's bigger, too. Dakorien is listed at 5-11, 195. Thomas was 5-8, 176. Autzen ZooThese Ducks are different: Dak is not DATBecause college football has regional character, history and tradition, and these are the best parts of the game, people like to compare eras and players.

  19. What do the Northwestern Wildcats do well on offense?Originally, Northwestern had a solid rushing attack with Cam Porter at running back, but he was ruled out for the season with an injury sustained in Week 2. Now, it will be interesting to see where the Wildcats go. Preston Stone is a decent QB who transferred in from SMU, but he had a terrible game in Week 1, throwing four first-half interceptions vs. Tulane. He righted the ship last week, but against a porous Western Illinois defense What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Northwestern Wildcats offense? What do the Northwestern Wildcats do well on defense? While we only have a couple of games to look at, the Wildcats have been pretty solid against the pass so far this year, giving up just 131 yards per game through the air. Contrarily, they've struggled to stop the run, allowing Tulane to rush for 269 yards in Week 1. They have some nice talent in the front seven, led by Anto Saka and Carmine Bastone, but we will see how they match up against Oregon's size in the trenches. What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Northwestern Wildcats defense?
