Of the 28 freshmen who enrolled last year, 11 appeared in enough games to avoid redshirt, led by tight end Kenyon Sadiq, offensive lineman Iapani Laloulu, and outside linebacker Blake Purchase who saw action in all 14 games. However, per a report from Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger on Sunday, it’s hardly a done deal. Through an open records request, Dellenger obtained an email MAC commissioner Jon Steinbrecher sent to his fellow league administrators, verifying the CFP has not struck a deal with ESPN. Several news outlets are reporting that a new six-year television deal has been concluded for the College Football Playoff,” Steinbrecher wrote in an email dated Feb. 13. “Be advised, these reports are incorrect.
