  4. Where does Oregon stand when it comes to transfer portal needs? The Oregon Ducks have not utilized the transfer portal as abundantly this year as we’ve seen in prior years, but they’ve arguably been more prolific and proficient with their additions, getting commitments from some of the best available players in the portal. With just 9 incoming transfers so far, Oregon has the No. 4-ranked class in the nation after adding the No. 3, No. 6, No. 18, and No. 53 players in the class with commitments from Evan Stewart, Dante Moore, Ja’Maree Caldwell, and Dillon Gabriel at the top of the list. Going into the offseason, they had a roster that was stacked with blue-chip players, but there were a handful of needs and potential needs, depending on who decided to return to Eugene for 2024 or head into the NFL Draft. Fortunately for Oregon fans, many of those players have decided to come back for one last ride. So with the roster in its current construction, are there any other needs that the Ducks need to fill in the transfer portal this year? Let’s take a look back at our needs coming into the offseason and assess: Oregon Football: Where Ducks stand as far as remaining transfer needs DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A look at where the Oregon Ducks stand in terms of remaining needs in the transfer portal after adding some top-level talent.

  6. The best compliment ever after Dan Lanning came out with this video, Sark of Texas and Dabo of Clemson tried to copy him with their on videos. BUT, you can't beat the original! Thank you Dan Lanning! Staying true to who you are! Staying true to your words in your commitment to Oregon!

  9. Here we go again, rumors are circling. Of course his name would be mentioned. With Arizona's financial woes and I'm sure players leaving, not a good place to start as a head coach. Let's hope he doesn't bite IF they come knocking. Oregon OC Will Stein mentioned as candidate for Arizona coaching job While Stein is certainly a strong candidate with his offensive success at Oregon and his strong recruiting ties in the Big 12 base, mainly Texas, it’s fair to say that there are other candidates who will likely be at the top of the list for the Wildcats. We will see over the coming days who Arizona chooses to replace Fisch, but it will likely happen relatively quickly. Oregon OC Will Stein mentioned as candidate for Arizona coaching job DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks offensive coordinator Will Stein has been mentioned as a candidate for the Arizona Wildcats’ head coaching job.
  10. I believe they did spend the time to recruit him. He is pretty fast. Holding the second fastest 100m dash, set at 10.15. Not bad to have in your WR room. Good question, not sure the percentage of LDS kids after their mission enrolls in the school they originally committed to.
  11. Oregon could be a shoe-in with Gatlin Bair. It was coming down to either Oregon Or Michigan. Gatlin will go on his 2-year mission. He would join the team after his 2 year mission.
  12. Yes, which means we would have someone like the like's of Bair in 2 years. Not a bad plan.
  13. Oregon defensive back Evan Williams shared a farewell message to Duck Nation on Sunday. The DB has no more eligibility after using his COVID year in 2023. Williams will now declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams spent his first 4 college seasons with the Fresno State Bulldogs. The defender collected 226 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 4 interceptions over 39 games with the Bulldogs. The DB spent the 2023 season with the Ducks and racked up 82 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries. The versatile DB should have no problem getting drafted and making his mark at the next level.
  14. If Jim Harbaugh leaves Michigan, Oregon's chances of getting Gatlin Bair increased considerably! It seems to be a two team race between Michigan and Oregon.
  15. The Oregon Ducks have certainly been among one of the most proficient teams in the transfer portal this offseason, which was the case last year and the year before as well. Dan Lanning and his team made an early splash with the additions of Dillon Gabriel, Dante Moore, Kobe Savage, and Jay Harris before the new year, and they’ve kept that momentum rolling into 2024 with the addition of some real blue-chip players this past week. On Monday, the Ducks got a commitment from UTSA CB Kam Alexander, and they followed it up on Thursday by adding Texas A&M WR Evan Stewart, the No. 2 player in the transfer portal. To close the week out, Oregon added Houston DT Ja’Maree Caldwell on Friday night, the No. 17 player in the transfer portal. There’s a chance the Ducks could continue adding top talent as well, with rumors swirling on Saturday that Lanning could be after former Washington Huskies’ CB Jabbar Muhammad as well. All of the additions have Oregon among the top-rated teams in the transfer portal rankings. What’s interesting to note, though, is how high the Ducks are in the rankings despite having nowhere near the number of commits the other teams in the same range do. To help highlight that, we will show the average ranking of transfer commits per team in the rankings. Take a look: Oregon Football: Ducks skyrocket up transfer portal rankings DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM After a trio of blue-chip additions over the past week, the Oregon Ducks have leaped up the 2024 transfer portal rankings.
  16. Evidently Fentress didn't do his due diligence. If he had he wouldn't have made a foolish knee-jerk response.

  19. Great time for Dante and Bittle to come back. Will compliment the outstanding team playing that's been going on! This year could be special.
  20. According to Scott Read, Alabama did contact coach Lanning. Flock Talk: Family and Privilege ScottRead - DuckSports Authority Staff Writer Sharing some excerpts from Scott Read. What's interesting to take note of is starting in the 5th paragraph below: Wednesday night was different. It never felt like it did with Taggart or even Mario. Part of that is simple, Dan Lanning is – in my opinion – at his dream job. He has taken Oregon recruiting to unprecedented heights. And, you know what, if he has a year where the class is ‘only’ ranked number 15, the fans in Eugene probably will not have the kind of melt down they would in Tuscaloosa, or Athens, or Columbus, or Texas, or a few other places where there is no off switch; where there is no such thing as an acceptable down cycle; where expectations are to win a national championship within four years or be looking for a new job. What a few coaches have not realized is that Oregon offers something that is sustainable long term: exceptional resources and much more reasonable expectations. I know some local journalists are still torqued about how Oregon fans treated Mark Helfrich, but remember, his ouster was not about the record in 2016. That season was a symptom of a bigger disease. It was the result of apathy on the recruiting trail, an arrogance that Xs and Os could overcome a significant deficiency in talent, and a culture that had rotted from within based on the apathy. Had Helfrich not bought the trite belief that Oregon could not be an elite recruiting school and recruited like the last three coaches have, I think he would still have a job. But that kind of effort on the recruiting trail was not in the DNA of the former staff. The announcement by Dan Lanning that he is returning should put to rest the yearly concerns about the ‘next big thing’ job that opens up. I know that many Alabama pundits are spouting off that Lanning was ‘never really a candidate’ but they are simply inaccurate. Athletic Directors never, ever want to let the world know how many guys they missed out on so they saying that ‘there is no offer until someone accepts’ has become dogma. Lanning was asked about his interest very early in the process. He was absolutely the first guy that Greg Byrne wanted. Lanning was adamant that he was happy at Oregon. Byrne contacted Lanning’s agent on multiple occasions this season to continue feeling out the interest level. Is it true Lanning was not officially offered? Sure. But that is because Lanning said he was not interested in leaving long before the sides could even discuss potential terms. Don’t buy the negative spin that Alabama did not want Lanning. They did. He said no. That sends a message loud and clear to the Oregon faithful, to recruits, to current staff members, to potential future staff members, and to families of recruits that Oregon is not going to be a stepping stone any longer. Rob Mullens took a chance on Lanning and Lanning is going to continue to pay dividends (and receive some as well!) with that opportunity. He said no to Alabama. I don’t know that there is anything out there that will top what he could have had – because he feels he has all of that and more in Eugene. Flock Talk: Family and Privilege OREGON.RIVALS.COM Today in Flock Talk, how Dan Lanning just reshaped college football, plus a look ahead to another Polynesian Bowl.
