  1. Good point. Pass rush needs to win fast. DBs were strong all year long. Thanks for an awesome year!
  2. Really like the idea of "inertia" powering the team. Momentum is a very real thing in football. Past needs to return with SPEED SPEED SPEED. Thanks for a great year!
  3. Appreciate the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the season. Totally agree, big-play explosions were the major change. Lots of fun ahead (hopefully) in 2023 even without Dillingham. Thanks for a great year!
  4. Butterfield's been getting a lot of buzz in this thread... wonder if we'll see him in limited action this year. Would love to see what he can do when the games matter. Gotta stay positive! Kudos to you!
  5. Love what you touched on with both coaching staffs' respect. These teams deserve a ton of credit for what they've created this year, and for Utah in particular, the past five years or so. Let's just count on the Ducks to make sure this isn't the Utes' day. Interesting note about staying in the PAC-12! Would love some fresh blood.
  6. Respecting Bo's rushing ability is an impossible component to replicate, agreed. Touched on this in the article, but a loaded box is going to show a much different Oregon team potentially tomorrow. Love the 7-on-7 comment!
  7. O-line has only been touched on a bit, but it's real cause for concern like you said with the injureis we had last week. Should definitely be a tough game, but you're right. we get some breaks and turnovers? We're in business. I think we can still go toe-to-toe with Utah's A game.
  8. Thanks for being honest with your opinion! Interesting take on Butterfield. It does feel strange that given how Ty has done in mop-up duty, there hasn't been at least one set of snaps that Butterfield gets in on. Maybe it's that recruiting position weight that you hold over your head, like a first round pick in the NFL? Coaches not wanting to look like the team or program missed on someone? Who's to say.
  9. I like your take on the depth chart. There's a certain added level of respect, huh? "Come try and beat our best; we already know you can't." Love the enthusiasm about Ty!
  10. That's what we like to hear! Surprise surprise, talented quarterbacks thrive when they get a real shot! Would love to see him take advantage of his big arm and start zipping some passes like we've all thought he could the past couple of years.
  11. GREAT take. I surely agree with this being Bo's team., and think that you're spot on about having a sigh of relief for next year. While it would be fun to see some more of Ty, Bo has played lights out. No reason to shut him down. Huge test for Ty that I think he'll excel in.
  12. Let's hope the defense can step it up! Need a big game in the front seven particularly. With Rising back out there, the Ducks are going to need to shut him down as a rushing threat. Fast. I agree that a large part of this game weighs on the Oregon defense's shoulders, but I still think closing it out will come down to quarterback play.
  13. I like it! Maybe we see a 200+ rushing day from the Ducks again? Wouldn't that put some much-needed pressure on these Utes...
  14. The best problem in sports is having two talented quarterbacks. I see that with this Ducks squad and think we'd all agree that if Ty can rise and shine, I'd love what a little controversy would say about this team's talent pool.
  15. This is a tough take, but one we have to come to grips with for now. Fortunately, I hold high optimism that this team will rally under Lanning and manage to compete hard without Nix under center.
  16. We can only dream, right? Would love to see both younger QBs get in.
  17. Playing Georgia makes playing UCLA look like a cakewalk. Let's fire on all cylinders and knock the Bruins off.
  18. Thank you, Debbie! Hope you enjoy the game. Yes! Utah looked pretty inept against the Bruins, and without that late-game pick-6, it'd look even worse. I love what DTR has been doing for them. Now, it's time for the Ducks to give them a bit of a reality check in Autzen.
  19. You are right: home crowd needs to be a piece of the team tomorrow. And since it never rains in Autzen, it should only be a factor for those LA boys. For a first test as you said with their strength of schedule, Oregon's a tough straw to draw. I imagine if they can't handle the rain and the atmosphere, we'll pound the rock until the Bruins call it quits.
  20. Let's hope we can stick to those fundamentals you touched on and keep the LA kid out of his element in Autzen. Especially since it never rains. The worries I touched on about Nix in a track meet is if he'll rely too heavily on his legs instead of his arm, but we'll see if we can brew up enough success early on defense to avoid a track meet.
  21. I'm lucky enough to get to see the top two high school teams in the nation go toe-to-toe tonight in person, and all I can say so far is WOW. These guys came to play defense today. Only 7-0 at the half in favor of Mater Dei, My key takeaways so far are: Mater Dei has only had a handful of bad plays the entire game, and already have started forcing turnovers. I love what I've seen upfront from them on both sides of the ball, but really its finishing drives that's killed them. Can't close consistently yet which will need to change in the second half against a hungry Bosco Braves squad. Bosco's QB Pierce Clarkson (committed to Louisville, but still recruited by a handful of PAC-12 teams in AZ State, AZ, and Colorado) has been getting the ball out quick and also getting loose on the edge. Doesn't have elite speed, but he's flashed so far. QB Elijah Brown (who may vary well be a Wildcat soon enough) looks calm and collected, I really like his poise so far. However, I've noticed hot and cold streaks he's gone on completions wise. To be fair to him, he hasn't had a lot of separation to close out the first half from his receivers. Jordan Onovughe is a huge receiver who needs to make more of an impact in the second half. Aaron Williams (CB headed to Louisville) has outstanding straight line speed and agility. It's exciting to see him play in person finally. Also, the atmosphere here is great. So exciting to get to see the best talent in the nation go to battle. If you haven't recently, go out and see some Friday night lights shine. There's just nothing like high school ball (well, maybe seeing our Ducks play in Autzen. But you get the idea).
  22. Hasn't really been touched on, great point! Injuries are huge, and with reckless Nix has been, I'm worried about him being safe (knock on wood). Hope the team takes your advice.
  23. Love the respect de Laura is getting, and you're absolutely spot on. Redzone offense started great after Georgia but has been hit or miss as of late. Let's see that brought back a bit with some good tight end play, effective quarterback running, and zero turnovers.
