  1. FINALLY. Someone said it. I can't help but despise fantasy football, and yet I get roped into it every year. By week three, I'm so overly competitive and analyzing tape on the 3rd receiver for the Jets that I have lost my joy for watching the games. I can't express how much I relate to the software department line, LOL. Love the line about the QB position as well. Good stuff Jester.
  2. Brutally honest. I think Bo's going to have his fair share of struggles for sure. It's never easy coming in as the starter for a new program, especially as you siad if he has poor read instincts already engrained in his mind. Maybe BYU turns into an open door for TT or JB
  3. Love these two points you made! I think JB and TT will earn playing time, it really just comes down to when. Let's hope we can at least see some of their prowess this year, just hopefully not at the expense of the team performing poorly with Bo. As for the runningbacks, I really don't care either who leads the room. I just need SOMEONE to lead it. Otherwise, it just turns into feeding the hot hand, which may work in some instances, but it's nice to have an ol' reliable in the room as a leader. Even if it's a first year guy, I don't really mind. We'll never accidentally rush for 200 yards. Let's just hope that the running game stays as a creative and crucial piece of the gameplan.
  4. Small waves mean everything, Jester. I think you're absolutely right. Exam 2 with BYU is a good football program that can make moves early this year. Let's hope we do see some actual tackling against Eastern Washington tomorrow and take a major step forward as a unit.
  5. Glad you enjoyed, Thanks for your consistent contributions to the forum, Drex! Hope you enjoy the game this weekend.
  6. This is where I hope Lanning can really excel, as you said, a potential "Cinderella Story" indeed. I love the storylines comment as well. Couldn't imagine a better comeback story for our Ducks in the ATL
  7. A fun time indeed! I almost think it would be less fun to be an Alabama fan, though. I'm not sure if I'd enjoy football as much with an almost guranteed playoff contention every season as a fan. Sure as heck would as a coach, though.
  8. I wouldn't want to risk injury to our #1 scorer, but you're absolutely onto something if he was put back for kick return and punts. I think he could easily tear up on special teams this year and be the sweep, screen, and six-point sweetness Oregon needs.
  9. Cardwell could very well be the next beast of the backfield. Can't wait to see Lanning unleash him, in the case he gets the bulk of reps in a Royce Freeman-esque role.
  10. Wouldn't be surprised with our recruiting staff! Dollars could make splash as Steven said, but I can't leave anyone off the books to be our next Touchdown King.
  11. Thanks for reading! Can't help but count on the backfield. Just want a bonified number 1 to make me "get my popcorn ready" again at Oregon. One can only hope, I guess. In Lanning we trust.
  12. Want to see a big year out of Big Sean too, love this lol. Crypto Cutback Dollars.
  13. Would LOVE to see 3-4 of these Moss'd moments from Thornton. He's a standout talent looking to make a splash, and if becomes a consistent deep threat with that track speed too? He could be the next big-time receiver in the PAC-12.
  14. I love this point. This is one of my major gripes as well. WHY AREN'T WE PLAYING THEM? Speculation is tough to go off of and the lack of garbage time was tough. Closed practices haven't helped either.
  15. I totally agree! what a great problem to have in all the awesome recruits we have. Love the take you have on TT as well. I think your timeline with game four being the "need for a change" is a good ballpark, but I hope it's as early as game 3 that we have the spot solidified.
  16. Just a tad decent, huh? Lol. We'll have to wait and see.
  17. Love the analogy! Openings are everything.
  18. Totally agree! Hope you are right about the two young guns seeing the opportunity. Personally, it seems so difficult to just "trust the process" and wait. I really am looking forward to how Ty moves forward, as well as Jay.
  19. Haywarduck, Surely at least one team will make the right choice? We can only hope.
  20. Ducks4ever, While I would also love for him to get a decent contract and avoid injury, I would enjoy seeing him on the field more, and I think he would too. Him, Cam, and a few others really have become a part of a rip-off qb culture which is so strange to me given the talent they've exhibited in the past at the most important position in football.
  21. Hi Southern Duck, I think you're absolutely right in giving a majority of the blame to the Titans. That offensive line play early in his career (outside of Taylor Lewan and a few others) was awful. Even with one of college football's best running backs of all time(statistically), they couldn't execute any sort of "vision" as you put it when they drafted them for the future of the Titans. I love the car analogy! Alex
  22. The loss of Joe Brady and all that talent on offense surely contributed to that tough 5-5 season. You're right, Kelly's time at Oregon was wonderfully entertaining, and although it would be lovely to see again, I think you're right in saying that the system is doing fine. I just hope Ty Thompson and the next era of Oregon football can find a way to make that next step.
  23. "Coaching up" is a great way to put it. I truly hope you're right and the Chargers are able to extract all that talent that Herbert demonstrated in his rookie year. Let's hope Sewell somehow lands on the Chargers this offseason to protect an old friend on the next level.
  24. Hi AnotherOD, Gosh, I really hope these options turn into threats with our new quarterback. You're certainly right in saying "you need a QB who can ...", because that's what I found myself realizing when writing about our receiver situation. Let's pray Ty is the real day, and I don't mean Shough.
  25. Hi Jon Sousa, I felt guilty asking for more than one go-to, but although Christmas has passed already, perhaps another Saint Nick could grant us some of the college football fairy dust and give us a trio of strong contributors in the passing game next season. I'd love to see it as much as anyone.
