QUAAACK! 4* DB Dakoda Fields Flips to Ducks From USC

Recommended Posts

Oregon is able to flip the commitment one of the region's top cover corners.

USC rallied and he surprised a few when he ended up committing to the Trojans while on his official visit in early June.

Behind the scenes, we continued to hear that the Ducks were making a big push and they were able to get him on campus two weeks ago for their big Saturday Night Live event.

Fields told us at the time that he was still committed to USC but added, ‘Oregon gave me a lot to think about.’

“The trip to Oregon was good,” Fields told us following the visit. “The best part for me was being able to hang out with the coaching staff as a whole and building stronger relationships with them.

Holy Crap!  This is BIG, but fans need to remember....this particular recruit is very impressionable.  Whoever has the last visit wins, and between now and the December signing date...don't ink this one for certain.

But I do think the B1G announcement helped to offset the major recruiting wedge that USC is trying to drive with every recruit.  And Oregon just took it away....

Isn't it GREAT?

He is a 4-Star on Rivals, and offered by Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas, Ohio State, USC and....Washington!

Ahh, NOT!

Ducks jump back into top 10 of 2024 rankings with flip of 4-star CB

The Oregon Ducks are staying in the national spotlight, this time for something they’re doing in the recruiting world, rather than the conference realignment world.

On Monday night, 4-star CB Dakoda Fields announced that he was flipping his commitment from the USC Trojans to the Ducks, joining what is turning into an elite 2024 class under Dan Lanning.

Fields is rated as the No. 83 overall player in the 2024 class and the No. 9 CB, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

With the addition of Fields, Oregon moved back into the top 10 of the national rankings for this cycle. Check out where they now stand...

CLASS IMPACT: Dakoda Fields Commits to Oregon

Oregon scored a big win on the trail Monday, flipping 2024 Gardena (Calif.) Serra cornerback Dakoda Fields from USC, as he announced his commitment to Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

As usual, we're breaking this commitment down from every angle.

You can't really overstate how big of a recruiting win this is for Oregon. The Ducks steal one of the top commits in USC's class and Fields being a Southern California product only makes it that much sweeter.

He's also the first commit for Dan Lanning after the Ducks announced their move to the Big Ten--a move that should only bring positive recruiting momentum moving forward.

Demetrice Martin deserves his flowers for this one, as he stayed consistent and let his track record of development do a lot of the talking. But you have to mention the entire staff here.

Dan Lanning, Tosh Lupoi and Rashad Wadood all played significant roles in this recruitment as a team approach proved to be a key difference between USC and Oregon.
