Oregon Ducks Football: Best QB Room in the Country?

Recommended Posts

Our Oregon Ducks’ football program has had a SPECTACULAR past two weeks. Primarily, at the quarterback position. Following a Heisman finalist leaving the program in superstar Bo Nix, you might expect there to be a bit of a talent drop-off. Fortunately, even before Nix has officially even left the program, quarterback has quickly become a strength of the Ducks. Dan ...

Alex, you certainly have many reasons to be excited about the 2024 Duck QB room. This last week has raised my expectations higher, too!

Still a few questioms remain for this old but happy Duck....

Yes Gabriel is farther ahead now in big game success than Bo was when he arrived on campus. However, can he lead and will the players follow that lead?

The 2024 schedule has some big game matchups with tOSU, Michigan, Whisky, ucla and the huskies on the schedule. Winning 4 of those games may be the only way to reach the BIG Title game

Gabriels experience and leadership is critical to that success.

Moore brings real, meaningful in game experience that none of the backups had this year or will have next year. Moore made a lot of mistakes as a starter but did he learn from those mistakes?

Do the backups have the leadership qualities and "it factor" if there name is called?

Can DL and staff fill the front 7 with the experienced players and freaks to shut down the top offenses in the BIG? The Wolverines did not throw a pass in the 2nd half of the PSU game. PSU could not stop the run.

Can DL build a run stop defense?

Guess we will find out in the next few months........

Go Ducks........

In Lanning I trust! If there is a problem, weakness it will be taken care of. I really don't think he views it as so much an issue as an opportunity to improve, and that is what he has done.

Between the recruits and the transfers we now have almost a pure Dan Lanning team. If there was a need he got a transfer and a few recruits to fill the need. This is what we now have at the qb room, with the latest shift, all Lannings guys.

Without a coach leaving, so far, we also have continuity within the coaches too.

We may have the best qb room in the country, but most importantly we have Dan Lanning's qb room. We also now don't have MarØ's guys being coached by Lanning, or some fill ins trying to do what Lanning wants.

We now have each position group with a Lanning guy competing to be a starter in the new Oregon Football Program. With a group of coaches who know what Lanning wants my bet is he can now better focus on the end goal, the National Title.

We don't just have the best qb room, we have what we can expect going forward, competition and development within Dan Lanning's vision.

Thanks, Alex.

And Moga is not chopped liver. The kid is a heck of a runner. Coach Stein must raise a stein or two of Charles' finest Oregon IPA. He is getting a lot of nice toys for Christmas including a Buckeyes WR flip that will help Win The Day and tick off Ryan Day at the same time.

GO DUCKS! Extinguish the Flames.

OBD can certainly make that argument with confidence, that's for sure.  Getting a backup with a decent amount of game experience like Moore is paramount for next season with that 8 game gauntlet in the middle of the schedule.  With no break in the middle of that I wouldn't be surprised if the injuries pile up during that span.
