Pete Carroll Out in Seattle

Recommended Posts

Will remain as an advisor . . . until $ talks.

Pete Carroll will no longer serve as Seahawks coach and will move into an advisory role. Carroll had led the team since 2010 and posted a Super Bowl win after the 2013 season.

I know it's not Duck news, but I think a lot of Seahawk fans are on this site.

Well.. it does open the door potentially for some coaching movement at the college level.

Rumor has it that DeBoer may be interested in leaving for the NFL and Seattle would be an easy move.

DeBoer or Harbaugh... ? Take the guy with a modicum of integrity!

Dominos are starting to fall, and there is going to be lots of movement.

I would be shocked if Harbaugh is back at Michigan. He is a competitive guy and doesn't have that Super Bowl Ring like his brother.

The domino for us is a speedy receiver goes to the Ducks!

DeBoer isn't a recruiter and I would imagine sees the NFL as enticing, but he would be a big risk at the NFL level. The NFL loves upside and he has lots so I bet he is pursued.

The domino for us is the dawgs lose another good coach too soon, win, win!

Pete's 72 years old. I think he's just exhausted and wants to ease into retirement with this advisor role.

There are 7 HC openings in the NFL at the moment.

That being said, after the Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly and Cliff Klingsburry busts, I would think front offices would be very hesitant about going after a high octane offensive minded college coach.

Now a proven NFL coach like Harbaugh is a different story.

Combined with the Saban news, the coaching carousel is getting very interesting this year, not because of HC being pushed out, but instead HCs being pulled out.

I think the NFL would suit DeBoer better than college. He’s not good at recruiting but he knows how to develop talent and identity free agents that fit his system. Seattle has obviously had good luck with a college coach, so they might kick the tires.

Step 1 - No more PC complete

Step 2 - Get rid of all UW crossover fans incomplete

So close.

A simple two step process and I can root for a Seattle team with out hurling.
