Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted October 9 I wrestle with this, primarily because I never said I was noble, yet the juxtaposition of our teams is so clearly on opposite ends of the spectrum. Oregon is No. 3 in the nation playing No. 2 at Autzen with scads of national sportswriters present, and millions of eyeballs watching on NBC. Beavis is on the CW, playing Nevada. Feeling sorry for them yet? Mr. FishDuck
Steven A Moderator No. 2 Share Posted October 9 I think the biggest ratings bump will be if they count the fans in attendance.
JabbaNoBargain No. 3 Share Posted October 9 (edited) Nope! They burned the bridge to that remote possibility for me when they attempted to bully the MWC. That was their one friend and ally over the last year, and now they’re trying to destroy them…keep it classy Beavis. 30Duck No. 4 Share Posted October 9 I was thinking the same thing a while ago, and feeling sorry for the Rodents never crossed my mind. Washington has always been Oregon's biggest rival, and OBD has been the hammer to their nail for the last 30 years or so. Oregon-Oregon State is a rivalry manufactured out of geography. Oregon State, save for baseball & a run by the Gary Payton era basketball teams, has never belonged in a Power Conference. They'd have ruled the Big Sky if they'd moved there decades ago. Match facilities between the Oregon -Oregon State? The reaction from OS to Oregon being in the B1G now, while they're left in the Scrap Heap; that Oregon deserted them, somehow owes them is pathetic and predictable. The Pac-12 was sinking. Oregon was tossed a life preserver. Oregon State didn't get one. So now they're treading water.
DanLduck No. 5 Share Posted October 9 Never! Nada! Nyet! As I've said before, even their own fan base doesn't appear to be all in with them. Only sell-out of their tiny, shiny stadium was against us! If they don't even care, no one, NO ONE else will either. Long live the Duck! Stomp out Buckeyes!! 1
DuckFan93 No. 6 Share Posted October 9 (edited) Again, this is another clear sign of the market speaking. We live in a market economy after all and college sports should reflect that. The rodents draw small audiences and that's exactly what they deserve. They are mediocre and playing an even more inferior opponent. What else do you expect?
