Notalot No. 1 Share Posted October 27 (edited) Focus ahead on the next opponent, not back. Every player and the team getting better every week. The Mantra of Coach Lanning and the coaching staff is ongoing improvement. The players are locked in and accomplishing those goals. The team cleans up mistakes from week to week. The better, bigger, stronger and faster players continue to gel as a team and play more complementary football each week. The Ducks defense is remarkable. The defensive line are brutes who dominate and manhandle most everyone most every time. This team’s defensive backs play the best pass defense in Ducks years. They close fast on runs and tackle efficiently. The players stay in their lanes and gang tackling has increased. The superb reliable play of the D-line and defensive backfield allow the linebackers to play free. As the weeks pass this Ducks team is getting deeper. Newer players are taking the field and contributing high level results. Injured players returning should add even more depth next week at Michigan. Fans, we are witnessing remarkable football that’s getting better by the week. SHOUT! Edited October 27 by Notalot 1 4
The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 2 Share Posted October 27 If Harmon doesn't get that silly personal foul after that third down stop, the score would have likely been 45-3, a truer reflection of the domination we all witnessed. 1 1
HappyToBeADuck No. 3 Share Posted October 27 Notalot you are so correct about the weekly improvement by OBD's. The back ups have stepped up and the depth is gaining experience. The O line, tight ends and receivers are executing their blocks allowing the Duck O to take control and dominate. How about the goal line stand in the 3rd quarter? Still more improvement can and will happen....very exciting...... If the Ducks make the Natty game then we are half way thru the season. As other teams are faltering the Ducks continue to improve. Go Ducks let's best Michigan... 1 1
OregonDucks No. 4 Share Posted October 27 (edited) In an interview, earlier in the season, Coach Lanning said that he wanted the team peaking around Thanksgiving. Props to the coaches and players because they appear to be on that trajectory. Teams that win a tournament aren't always the best team but they are playing the best at that point in the season (e.g., the 2008 New York Giants won the Super Bowl as a Wild Card). Once you get in the dance, anything can happen... Edited October 27 by OregonDucks 1
Just Ducky No. 5 Share Posted October 27 Except for a few errant throws and questionable tackling at times this is a very exceptional team for sure. Sadiq is a man among boys. When Ferguson gets back this might be the best tight end group in college football. Reminds me of the old Stanford teams but better athletes. How many teams have the running back group the Ducks have? Great time to be a Duck. 1
