David Marsh No. 1 Share Posted November 3 Michigan has been ultra one dimensional this year. They have rotated through three quarterbacks and may have finally figured out their QB rotation. They have an incredible tightened room, in particular Loveland is nasty to go against. I think Oregon hit them at the right time. Michigan won't make the playoff this year but they could still ruin some other teams. They have a solid offensive line and run game and their defense is good. It seems like they might be getting just enough quarterback play now to round out their team. If their QB play can continue to develop then I think they give Indiana a scare at least and may even challenge Ohio State. Glad our Ducks got our win over them now and not in a week or two.
Solar No. 2 Share Posted November 3 Their QB is definitely putting it together which is making a significant difference. You saw how it started to open up their running game some in the second half. He made some beautiful the throws you have to tip your cap to.

I was impressed by both of his TDs, the type, given his previous inconsistencies, that coaches go "no, no, no....alright!" He may have caught the Duck DBs a bit off guard as they didn't expect him to make, or even attempt, those throws. He was decent rolling out of the pocket and threw stuff away when he didn't have a target. I don't see him giving the Bucknut secondary too much grief, but he is a viable option for a passing game they've lacked. One that will help the Michigan defense stay off the field and be even more effective than they are already. Good for them!
30Duck Moderator No. 4 Share Posted November 3 Both teams have byes before Michigan goes to Indiana, maybe Michigan's CB will be ready, UM will definitely be a step up from the opposition Indy has faced so far. The Hoosiers haven't played down to the level of their competition yet, but they haven't had to raise their game either. Could be interesting. Michigan is playing at Ohio State too, but have won 3 in a row, so not a huge problem.
The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 5 Share Posted November 3 Michigan's passing game seemed pretty good to me. I saw a bunch of NFL caliber plays against one of the best pass defenses in the BIG. Sure didn't look bottom twenty to me. I think they played good enough to beat a top twenty five team but they were just playing the number one team that day.
Mike West No. 6 Share Posted November 3 I was telling a Duck alum I've known for ages the same thing. Michigan is going to cause havoc as the season goes on. I believe the coaching staff is figuring out what works for both QBs. Michigan fans are going nuts, but they had to know losing 20 starters was going to result in a rebuilding year. I personally bet a dollar that the Wolverines would win nine games this year, but I was too optimistic (never bet the house on anything-gambling should be strictly fun and games). They are going to start scoring more points, and they definitely will give Indiana a run for their money. Ohio State is too talented this year for Michigan, but Michigan fans are silly to think their coaching staff is out of its league. Same with Michigan State (that team is going to cause headaches next year). I am so glad we joined the B1G. The conference is going to start challenging the SEC for talent very soon. NIL and the Portal have really leveled the playing field, and there are several coaches in the B1G that are going to use it to challenge SEC dominance. OBD are ahead of schedule, and it appears other teams in the conference are going to do all they can to catch up.

I'm not saying Michigan is better than Penn State or is going to beat Ohio State. But if Ohio State doesn't up their game a bit I think Michigan will at the very least scare them. Michigan does still have a lot of huge humans in both sides of the line of scrimmage.

But all the talk afterwards was about what a great performance by tOSU's defense, especially that goal line stand. Numbers wise PSU's O was prolific, but it sure didn't look that way on the field. Michigan has players, hate tOSU, would ruin their season with a W.
