30Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted November 8 (edited) This is the year that "We want Alabama" would be okay, except it might hurt OBD's SOS. Milroe is exactly the wrong QB for DeBoer's system. You know who would be great in it? His initials are DG. If Oregon was still in the Pac-12, and they had beaten tOSU again, it would have just been an upset. Being in the B1G makes all the difference. On the first Playoff reveal show, Oregon at No.1 wasn't even up for discussion, it was, "Oregon is No.1, moving on" Not even TOSU honk, Joey Galloway had anything to say. The game that really will have some implications for the playoff's this week isn't Alabama @ LSU, it's Michigan @ Indiana. If Michigan can beat Indy, or even keep it to 7-10 points, we'll start to think, or if Indy treats Michigan the same way they treated State last week? Ohio State & Oregon will have some work to do. If the top 6 teams from the B1G & the top 6 from the SEC merged, that would be a Super conference. Edited November 8 by 30Duck 1

Jon Joseph Moderator No. 4 Share Posted November 8 Thanks for the post, 30. I think the two top SEC games this week have the more significant PO impact. Michigan is not in the running for the PO. If the Hoosiers lost to the Wolverines, after being Idle on 11/16, Indiana could recover with a win in Columbus on 11/16. With all of the 1-loss and 2-loss teams still in contention, a 3rd loss, whether or not Greg Sankey likes it, means Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU would be PO over and out and a 2-loss UGA would be on thin ice. In the 2024 Pac-12, I think the Ducks would be 9-0 but without a W versus Ohio State, meaning 3-0 OOC against 2 G5 teams and whatever Oregon State is., OBD would have one Top 25 win. OBD's strength of schedule would not be robust with Arizona, Utah, UW, and USC, having bad years and UCLA being UCLA, Cal being Cal and Furd being Furd. OBD's two top opponents could have been the not ranked ASU, No. 20 CU, and No. 21 Wazzu. Would these three teams have been on the schedule? Long way of saying, "Heck Yes!" Even though the ACC has five ranked teams in the top 25, one more than the B1G's four, it's huge to be B1G. Huge not to have every game streamed or shown on Larry's Loser Network. OBD would be playing games with far fewer folks tuning in to watch and OBD would be battling for the 4th or 5th seed in a field with six automatic bids. This just in, Penn State fans are not happy that The White Out Game versus UW is on The Bird. 1
