Jon Joseph Moderator No. 1 Share Posted November 12 This is one of the reasons FOX is behind ABC/ESPN in 2024 CFB viewer numbers. Indiana-Ohio State showdown deserves better than its early kickoff WWW.YARDBARKER.COM When Indiana plays Ohio State in two weeks, it will be the weekend's marquee game. So, why is it being treated like a matinee? This Saturday instead of showing Oregon at Wisconsin, FOX will broadcast Utah at Colorado kicking off at 10 AM Mountain time. And CBS is also making strange broadcast decisions. This Saturday, CBS will broadcast Penn State at Purdue at 3:30/12:30 instead of Oregon vs Wisconsin that will be broadcast at 7:30/4:30. Perhaps CBS could not show 3 OBD games in a row but FOX certainly could have shown Oregon at Wisconsin at B1G Noon, kicking off at 11 AM Central instead of opting for a B12 game. OBD's viwership numbers are up in 2024 but they could be improved with better broadcast decisions by FOX, CBS, NBC, Peacock, and BTN. Why FOX insisted on owning the B1G Noon broadcast window instead of swapping times with CBS and NBC is baffling. Penn State's White Out game featured UWho instead of Ohio State and was shown on Peacock. I get that the B1G took the money but why would the B1G's broadcast partners not want to have the most viewers possible and the best ROI? I hope that come 2031, the B1G will have more influence in regard to broadcast dates and times. A White Out versus UWho on The Bird = A Comparative Blackout Compared to a Broadcast on CBS, FOX, or NBC at 7:30 Eastern. 1
Ktmguy2018 No. 2 Share Posted November 12 (edited) The media is falling all over themselves with Colorado again. It's really quite ridiculous. It's almost like they are trying to buoy them into the Big12 championship because they believe that Colorado would be a "sexier" pick for the playoff than BYU. I've even heard Deion's name pushed as COTY. Really? Ahead of Kalani Sitake who happens to be undefeated and is in the same conference. Not to mention the DL's and Cignetti's of the coaching ranks. anyotherduck No. 3 Share Posted November 12 I assume we've been watching these games? I hate to say it, but watching the Ducks hasn't really delivered on the "highly entertaining" front. Look at this past weeks games for entertainment value. The CO/TT game was absolutely thrilling, UT/BYU was a nail biter as was Miami/GT. It's amazing that we're #1 and doing this well. I'm not complaining one bit, but Lannings teams are not what people expect from "flashy Oregon". Who would have thought that the Ducks would only be slightly more entertaining than PSU? Not me. Keep it up! Go Ducks!

One of the fun things I've seen floated by Josh Pate is that there is a good to decent chance that if Colorado wins the Big 12 that Boise State might get the auto bid bye instead of a Big 13 team. Nothing in the current playoff guarantees a P4 conference an auto bid bye. So let's hope that is the case and Colorado somehow manages to get a game against Oregon so Lanning can obliterate them again.

JB89 No. 6 Share Posted November 12 (edited) NBC may have had the first choice and chose OBD. Below is a John Wilner article explaining the network selection process for Big 10 games. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/heres-how-the-big-tens-in-season-tv-football-selection-process-works/ Edited November 12 by JB89

30Duck Moderator No. 9 Share Posted November 13 Chip knows why. For Kelly, these dreaded noon starts centered around the Buckeyes’ quarterback. “Will (Howard) said if he gets to play at noon, he can complete 80% of his passes,” joked Kelly. “So, I think the controversy is over. You get a noon kickoff, he’ll complete 80 (percent). I know a lot of people have problems with what we’re doing, but if it means the QB can complete 80% of his passes, we’ll take it.”
