cartm25 No. 4 Share Posted 19 hours ago (edited) I understand the allure of getting a very experienced QB again, but hoping that Oregon can make something happen with their recruits. Maybe I've not been following as closely as before, but is Dante Moore not looking like the "heir apparent"? As I mentioned in another thread, I don't think we have enough data points to know if Dante is the guy or not. Would seem if they go after a QB in the portal then there are possibly questions. Just my opinion

If they are looking to the portal again for the QB spot then I think your assessment is spot on; potential questions for sure.
MicroBurst61 No. 7 Share Posted 19 hours ago A very good reason to dominate the "dogs" on Saturday. Let's see Dante for the entirety of the fourth quarter and actually "eyeball" it for ourselves. Or is the "fifth/sixth year senior QB transfer the new "norm"? (Geesh, I hope not!). Go Ducks! 1
30Duck No. 8 Share Posted 19 hours ago Ideally, it would be great to have a recruit work his way up and be ready to the best option at quarterback. But you can't argue that it hasn't worked with Nix and now Gabriel. Oregon is at the level now where it's reload, not rebuild. The WR recruits coming in look incredible, an experienced QB would only enhance them.
mikethehiker No. 9 Share Posted 17 hours ago (edited) If there was ever a year to develop your own recruited talent, 2025 is that year. There was a significant drop off this year in returning QB experience and talent after Bo Nix, Michael Penix, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, McCarthy, Drake Maye, Jordan Travis all left college. Next year, CFB will lose Cam Ward, Dillon Gabriel, Will Howard, Shedeur Sanders, Carson Beck, Will Rogers, Kurtis Rourke, and Jaxson Dart. Pending draft decisions from Jalen Milroy and Quinn Ewers, next year’s QB class begins with an even steeper drop in proven talent and experience. Even with Ewers and Milroy returning for senior seasons, it’s wide open next year for top teams to develop their next signal caller. It’s also welcome news for our secondary which will lose almost all of our two deep. Edited 17 hours ago by mikethehiker 1 1
Just Ducky No. 10 Share Posted 17 hours ago QB’s that process information when they see it in an instant are a rare breed and add in throw the ball accurately are even rarer. My point here is if you have one make sure you keep him and if you don’t better go get one. Makes a huge difference in your win loss percentage.
