QuackAttack No. 1 Share Posted 13 hours ago The way to solve all of the bickering and the SEC bias is to do the playoffs like the FCS does, except to have a 24-25 play in so that the top 25 still matters not the top 24. The bowl system could be used, no on-campus games, move the bowls up to fit the model. Here's what I think it could look like.
DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 2 Share Posted 11 hours ago Division II uses a pretty good model. They have 28 teams and it's only 5 weeks which would add one week to our playoffs. The only difference is they use regional playoffs until they get to the semi-finals (NE, SE, MW, West) which is due to money and travel. The top ranked team from each region gets a bye while the next six play the first round. They're down to 16 teams in week two and so on. 2024 Division II Football Official Bracket | NCAA.com WWW.NCAA.COM The official 2024 College Football Bracket for Division II. Including not bowing to the ESPN inclusion of bowl games it broadcasts and allowing the fans of the better teams to stay home to watch their team play. Because of the calendar in 2024, FCS teams were allowed to play 12 regular season games if they so desired. The usual 11-game season helps facilitate the large PO field. End the P4/G5 season earlier. Use the ultimate ranking to identify the top 16 teams. No byes, no preferred seeding for conference champs. 16 at 1, etc. Games on the home field of higher-ranked teams before the Super Bowl or at least the semi-final games. Why should (KNOCK WOOD!) the No.1 team in the country have to travel into 'enemy territory' to play all but 1 game? Because ESPN says so. 1 1
