I Have Gameday Jitters 28 hours Before Kickoff

Recommended Posts

Last week, I came to terms with the fact that the bracket is unfair. We will have to play the best teams to get where we want to go.

Last week, I comforted myself with the knowledge that we have a better coach.

Last week, I laughed when Colin Cowherd said we have a bad defense and picked the Bucks.

Last week, I laughed at the memory that I once wanted Cam Ward to lead our team.

Now it's this week, and I am scared, uh, constipated.

I think we're the better team, but the ball bounces where it will.

We need this Natty, before they put guardrails on the NIL system and even the playing field. We all know they will. Right now we're a "have" on an uneven playing field. I know that you know that, and I don't care.

Because, I need this Natty. Before I die. It would wash away the mange piled on veteran OBD message boarders by Husky fans from days of yore. It would wash away the memories of Mario Cristobal running up the middle, and Willie Taggart running away like the dog he is. It would wash away the memories of TCU and the Alamo Bowl when we couldn't take a snap. It would wash away the memories of Dennis Dixon. Poor Dennis Dixon.

I have favorite teams in many other sports, and I WANT World Championships for those teams.

But, I NEED this Natty.

I think the best thing that could have happened was osu2's Tennessee game. Getting to beat up an overrated SEC team at home gave them a mega boost of self esteem. With the national media practically crowning them champs already, they have returned to their arrogant condescending selves. Instead of feeling like a cornered animal needing to fight for it's life, they are bragging to the media how "back" they are. If they want to believe that this D is soft go right ahead. If their D thinks this will be just like playing the Vols, be my guest.

After that win, Day, the team and the fans are all full of themselves and are convinced that beating an undefeated number one team is a forgone conclusion. I'm as nervous as anybody about this game but it does seem to be setting up for that "shocking" OBD victory that only we Duck fans can see coming.

Great post Duckpop22, but it's messing with my strategy of keeping the highs low and the lows high. Just play the damn game already!

This is “it”, Duckpop: the year that Sisyphus finally gets that rock pushed over the hill,…..Uncle Phil finally gets his dream……and, the Ducks win the Natty!  It’s gotta happen sometime: Why not now?

GO DUCKS!!!!

Exactly, the win over Tennessee completely wipes away the loss to Oregon & Michigan. Osu2 is like a patient that feels terrible, but pun intended, a Quack sells him the medicine that makes him feel all better!

I was nervous, and osu2 is certainly capable of winning. But I just don't see it.

I liken the ducks this year to the age old story of "The Tortoise and The Hare."  Most of the teams like Ohio State are running around this year thinking they are the best, making all kinds of arrogant statements and actions. Seeking the attention, rankings and awards. What are the ducks doing?

They are methodical and steady. They haven't been caught up in any of the controversies. They don't complain, even though they have lots to complain about this year. They just put their hard hat on and grab their lunch pail and go to work just like the Tortoise of old. The eight games playing with no bye and all that travel, they made this team tough, resilient and focused. I believe they will win the race because of that but I guess we will see.

Does the arrogance overcome the whining about calls from the last game? The new Duck chant should be Yips, Yips, Yips at crucial moments.
