The collapse at Alabama immediately after Saban left, because he knew the floor was dropping must see, if only for Finebaum's fatalistic reactions to DeBoer's debut. In 2025, Alabama HAS to beat Oklahoma, but it will still be hollow, and hope to match the record of DeBoer's former team. USC or SC, which will approach the CFP in 2025? Kelly left Notre Dame to go to LSU because he saw the SEC as the shortest path to the Natty, that didn't work. Kiffin? His complaining is endless at Ole Miss, William Faulkner is pleading for him to "shut up!" Michigan, Auburn (hasn't done much of late but does have a Blue Chip roster,) Texas (Dallas,) at South Carolina, Ole Miss, at Tennessee, at Alabama, Missouri, and LSU. How about Coach Luke Fickell's toasty seat at Wisconsin? Miami (Ohio) a team predicted to win the MAC and contend for the G5 playoff spot, followed by a game at Alabama. Then, how's this for four Saturdays in a row? At Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, at Oregon. After a well-deserved week off, Wisconsin plays UW, at Indiana, Illinois, and at Minnesota. No ACC, B12, or G5 schedules come close to these two gauntlets which is why the B1G and the SEC want four assured playoff spots for each conference. Scheduling in these mega-conferences matters more than ever and I respect the B1G for trying to balance the schedules out from 2024 through 2028. How will the Ducks' season look if they lose 'season-defining game' against Penn State? AUTZENZOO.COM ESPN released a list of the most "season-defining games" of 2025 and included one of the Oregon Ducks' matchups within the top 10. PSU has the week off the Saturday before the Nits play OBD and three easy-peasy OOC games before playing the Ducks: Nevada, FIU, and Villanova (in football, not basketball.) PSU will be rested, but ready? Before this game, OBD plays Montana State, Oklahoma State, at Northwestern, and Oregon State. OK, this belongs in a B1G schedule analysis which will be up on The Forum. But other than the game at Georgia, this schedule is by SEC standards, a walk in the park. Compare this with Oklahoma's schedule posted above. I'd Sooner have the Longhorns schedule.
