JabbaNoBargain No. 3 Share Posted March 1 lol - imo, it’s only a trap if you think it’s an easy game and it’s not. Our home court advantage has been questionable this year and I personally wouldn’t be shocked if we lost. Curious to see what the crowd is like. sports fan No. 4 Share Posted March 1 This is not going to be an easy game to win. Ducks home losses were to UCLA 73-71, Illinois 109-77 (inexcusable), Purdue 65-58 and Nebraska 77-71. The Trojans are currently on a four game losing streak. USC lost to Oregon 68-60 in LA. Although the Trojans are not a very good basketball team, they have been in a few close games, losing by two points to Northwestern, lost by three to Minnesota and by five to Ohio St. Win those three games and they would be a much more dangerous opponent. If the Big Ten Conference started today, USC would be the # 15 seed in the tournament. They are going to give Oregon all they can handle. Let's hope our Ducks are ready for the battle at hand.

Sandy Rocks No. 6 Share Posted March 1 You can tell USC is playing for relevancy. They need to stop that guy getting three's although that has slowed down some. The ducks are playing well, getting lots of steals. The refs are missing a lot of calls against the ducks. Nice surge before the half.
30Duck Author Moderator No. 7 Share Posted March 1 The start was bad, but it didn't take long for the Ducks to get back in, ant take control of the game. I like that it wasn't just a barrage of 3's. Good D, good movement, no foul trouble.
GeotechDuck No. 8 Share Posted March 1 Nice to have the lead at half. Would be nice to connect on a few of those deep balls, but overall good effort after sleeping through the first 5 minutes.
Sandy Rocks No. 9 Share Posted March 1 Great win. A perfect example of good defense creating a good offensive. They fought every possession after the first three minutes. Finally at the end even threes were falling. A really fun game to watch. They posted a statistic, Altman has more wins in March than any other team including Kansas. 1

A great win, 10-27 on 3's, 27 is a lot of attempts, but the Ducks won anyway. If only Dante...Bittle is the MVP, offense, defense, he has grounds to be the B1G POY. Shelstad has been playing his best since the start of the season, Bamba as well. Angel is still the least impactful starter I can remember. 21-8, 10-8 in conference, the L's to Minnesota and Nebraska still sting, but given the balance of the B1G, they aren't bad losses. Michigan squeaked by Rutgers 84-82 yesterday. 1

Charles Fischer Administrator No. 18 Share Posted March 2 Geez, we start out way down...15-4 at one point, and fight back to a five point lead at halftime. This was a tough gritty game for most of it, and I noted that with 13:30 left in the second half...we only had a four point lead. With about nine minutes left it was only five. Then the Ducks exploded, and USC was clearly tired and worn down a bit. My gosh the threes were daggers.. 1 1 Mr. FishDuck
JabbaNoBargain No. 19 Share Posted March 2 (edited) Solid smashing! Sidebar - what are the theories on why Angel continues to start? I realize we don’t have very many players over 6’7, but at a certain point that stat line of his isn’t worth 2 inches of height. Sandy Rocks No. 21 Share Posted March 2 I don't even want to think about Altman retiring. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of his teams. This current team is really listening to Altman now and you can see his influence after time outs like at the beginning of the USC game. The announcers said that Oregon is now playing like they did at the beginning of the season, I agree. The Wisconsin win was a real motivator. Teams are having a very difficult time shooting over Bittle. He had five blocks yesterday. It's just like with Dante, Bittle is influencing everything around the basket.

GeotechDuck No. 24 Share Posted March 3 (edited) The best part about this win is that USC might be joining UW and watching the BIG tournament on TV. Before he had to leave to deal with other matters, Albert shared this observation: Angel should not be in the starting line-up, Evans should. In the starting line-up, Angel is the 4th option, behind, Bittle, Shelstad, Barthelemy. Put him in the 2nd line, with Cook, Tracey & Moss, with either Shelstad or Barthelemy, he'd be more active as the 2nd option. 1
