So that is what Beavis aspires to? 

That they and Texas State hopefully become the next Boise State?

What does that even mean? 

 

Boise State had some shocking major bowl wins but they were never a contender for a national championship and will probably never be. 

Boise St made noise cuz they were in the Mt West. I always thought that if WSU played the BSU schedule, they would make a bowl every year. And if BSU played WSU schedule, maybe make a bowl 1 out of 3 years. (In the old Pac12)

 

Now the Pac (St)eight is the old Mt West, only with more parity. I see them all beating up on each other and none of them making a playoff, even at 16 teams!

Canzano is desperate for Beavis to be relevant. He knows us Duck fans won't ever subscribe to his irrelevant b.s.

The new Pac is the best of the old mountain West which absolutely means they will all consume each other regularly. Probably fun for viewers (if you actually want to watch those teams) but not great for their playoff prospects for sure. 

So, after spending a Saturday watching Big Ten football games… I wanna tune into the CW Network to watch Colorado State versus Texas State in the evening?

Well, it didn't work so well either when it was Arizona vs Cal on the Pac12 Network or ESPN.   Or, UCLA vs Oregon State.   Or, WSU vs Stanford.   etc. at 7:30 - 8:00 pm starts Pacific on Saturday night.

 

I suspect the New Pac is going to see quite a few Thursday and Friday night games starting in 2026, in an attempt to garner viewers whose eyeballs aren't glazed over from watching football since 9:00 am.   Maybe even earlier Thurs/Fri starts than 10:30 pm Eastern.

Good idea, with 4:00 PM PST starts--their viewership would be much better,

as watching Utah State vs. Washington State is better than nothing.

Not a great spot for a conference when your best team is in the 30s and your second best is in the 70s. 

 

Boise should be happy with this arrangement. 

What if....this new conference pulls Boise State down instead of elevating them?

(Like an inadvertent loss or two in this weak conference?)

 

 

Should have just merged with the MWC and secured a $10m - $12m/team media rights deal that included Vegas in their footprint IMO. I could have nearly respected that.
 

Instead the 2 oinkers clutched to their lottery winnings to live “high on the hog” for 18 months.
