Forum Friends - Which Teams Will Win Their Conference Champ Game?

FRIDAY - All times Pacific Time Zone.

CUSA - Kennesaw State +2.5 at Jax State - 4 PM CBSSN

I like K State to win and cover. K-State coach Jerry Mack has turned the Owls into conference championship contenders. Keep it up, and Jerry will be moving on up.

Sun Belt - Troy at No. 25 James Madison University -21.5 - 4 ESPN

On his way out the door to UCLA, I like Bob Chesney's JMU team to win but not cover. Fired Florida coach Billy Napier is replacing Chesney.

Mountain West - UNLV at Boise State -3 - 5 PM Fox

Injured Boise State QB Maddux Madsen is good to go, but he'd better have his mittens on. It will be C-O-L-D tonight in Boise. I like Boise to win and cover.

I think Rebels coach Dan Mullen, with two years of coaching out West and back-to-back appearances in the conference championship game, would have been the better choice for UCLA. Chesney has never coached outside the Eastern time zone and has no G6 coaching experience as a head or assistant coach.

Mullen won an SEC championship at Florida and had far more success than Billy Napier.

AAC - No. 24 North Texas -3 at No. 20 Tulane - 5 PM ABC

Next season, OBD will see North Texas coach Eric Morris on the Oklahoma State home sideline.

I like North Texas to win, cover, and represent the G6 as the playoff 12-seed.

I also hope to see Coach Morris in Autzen this season, on December 19th or 20th.

Tulane coach Jon Sumrall is on his way to coach the Gators in 2026.

SATURDAY -

B12 - No. 4 Texas Tech -13.5 vs. No. 11 BYU - 9 AM ABC

Texas Tech is in the PO, win or lose. BYU is in only if it wins this game. TT has the talent advantage and the advantage of playing in Dallas.

Too many athletes for BYU to handle, and I think, and hope, that the Red Raiders win and stay ranked at No. 4.

I see a better effort coming from the Cougars in this game than when BYU was embarrassed by TT in Lubbock. BYU covers.

MAC - Western Michigan -3 vs. Miami of Ohio - 9 AM ESPN

Along with the Boise Broncos, I like the W MI Broncos to win and cover.

SEC - No. 3 Georgia -1.5 vs. No. 9 Alabama - 1 PM ABC

Kirby Smart meets nemesis Alabama for the second time this season.

Georgia is looking to retain the SEC title and find revenge against the team that broke UGA's 33 home winning streak.

Bama D tackle, L.T. Overton, who had 6 tackles and two QB hurries, including a critical fourth-down stop late in the first game vs. UGA, is out.

I like the Dawgs to win and cover. Could a 3-loss Bama be in danger of being left out of the PO field? I hope not, but with this committee ...?

ACC - No. 17 UVA -2.5 vs. 7-5 Duke - 5 PM ABC

I like the Cavaliers to win and cover. If the Blue Devils win, there will be chaos and hell to pay.

No. 12 - 10-2 Miami is on the sideline and hoping for a Texas Tech win that will have the 2-loss Canes and 2-loss Notre Dame next to one another when the committee deliberates its final ranking.

IMO, there is nothing on ND's resume that should have the Irish ranked ahead of a team that handed ND one of its two losses.

Big Ten - No. 1 Ohio State -5.5 vs. No. 2 Indiana - 5 PM Fox

For the first time in B1G history and the 3rd time in college football history, the top two-ranked teams meet in a conference champ game. This game will determine where in the committee's top four these two will be ranked.

On defense, the Buckeyes are number one in just about every category, including stopping the run.

Indiana played three teams with solid run Ds this season: Iowa, Oregon, and Penn State, and won by five, ten, and three points.

I think TOSU wins and covers.

How do you see these games playing out?

Well, I would be thrilled to see a 3 loss Alabama being left out of the PO field. The fewer the sec teams the better.

I want to see as much chaos as possible. Go Blue Devils.

My picks of the ones that may matter:

And here's to a Hurricane, Bama and Gold Dome free playoffs. I'd accept two out of three.

Agreed. Duke, BYU and Georgia. Let the talking heads lose their dinosaur brains with "who did you beat" vs "yeah but who did you lose to" I'm looking at your Miami, 'Bama, ND and Texas.

Jon, please don't bet the house, we have enough unhoused already.

No.

Would love to see the ACC left out of the playoffs
