2 hours ago2 hr Moderator No. 1. J Mac has arrived. Add in Benson and Dak Moore and that receiver group will be a problem for anybody.Dante has enough “it” to win a championship. Add that together with point number one along with Sadiq and the Ducks passing game will be a problem.JMU’s offense was better than expected and posed problems. The D did a great job of containing it to build a 34-3 lead. The momentum shift was startling/ concerning. About to go up 55-13, then a slip, an interception, a big return and a final score of 51-34. Ouch.I’m worried about the Davison injury. I want him back 100% against TT. Call me greedy. I’m not aware of any other injuries. For that I’m thankful.I’m hoping a dominant performance with a humbling ending sets up a confident and focused lead up to round two.

It’s not anything different from the precautions they take for any kind of sprain, tweak, etc. However, he wasn’t putting any weight on his foot when he was being helped to the locker room.If I had to guess I would say he’ll be held out against Tech. Oregon’s RB room is pretty experienced and I think Noah has done really well when he’s been called upon to take the lion’s share of the carries in big games.
2 hours ago2 hr No. I agree with your comments. We have to remember JMU was ranked higher than UW even with consideration of opponents. It shouldn't be shocking that they could do some damage when we took our foot off the gas mentally and by having backups in the game randomly from pretty early on.We got a glimpse early in the game of what our ceiling is and what our floor is late. Our ceiling is the highest in the playoffs, but our floor is more in the Alabama and Miami floor range than the Indiana, Ohio State, and Georgia floor range. There were a few unlucky plays that had a big impact as you mentioned too.I'm more worried about us traveling across 3 time zones to play in warm South Florida. At least the players will have about a week to adjust, but still...will we ball out to our ceiling?I sure hope they replace the turf at Autzen for next year. It's pretty clear that it has excellent traction when you plant your cleats solidly, but if your foot angle is bad and you are relying on friction with the plastic blades of grass you might as well be playing on a hockey rink.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Looking at the game summary this morning, appears the Ducks played 27 different guys on defense including the 11 starters. There was no breakdown between first and second half on the participation report. For comparison, in a close game earlier with Indiana the Ducks played 16. (11 + 5)
1 hour ago1 hr Author Moderator No. I’m torn on what we all witnessed. On one hand they did exactly what I wanted. Build a big lead, put in back ups and rest starters. On the other I also realize that comes with less than stellar results which is the trade off. It’s hard not to be the spoiled fan disappointed that we didn’t both dominate AND play the backups. Like. I said in point six, I hope the less than satisfactory ending keeps the team humble and focused. I’m sure Lanning will be using it for this week’s motivation.
