It would indeed, and schools and their fans would be excited across the country. But the SEC and ESPN are fine with the bonanza for them that the current CFP is. Forget that SEC honk Paul Finebaum sees expanding the Playoffs as necessary to keep interest in college football, SEC Commish Sankey, and the SEC schools are only interested in a system that keeps their coffers full, even at the existence of the sport. The SEC does think that and would be fine if the CFP consisted of 4 SEC teams. But, while they believe the SEC is the end all of college football, it would be the end of college football unless something is figured out to subvert the SEC's monopoly. Jon Joseph Author Moderator No. 7 Share Posted December 18, 2021 Thanks for on expected reply guys on a 'flyer.' RUN FOR THE ROSES! The ACC Champ, with Notre Dame as a ACC football member, the 'new B12' champ, the B!G champ and the Pac-12 champ and 4 AL regardless of conference affiliation. A network or 2 or 3 won't pay to broadcast this? Of course it and they will. Who in the hay needs the SEC? Who in the hay needs ESPN? Who in the hay needs the Group of 5? Why for goodness sakes should the SEC/ESPN that monetized CFB monopolize CFB and call every shot?

Well Mr Joseph I would love a 16 team playoff, I mean we'd get killed by Georgia but we would be in the playoff's and why do 8 which they could have started all this in the first place. They went with 4 team playoff with 5 Power 5 conferences which right off the bat it was not fair and especially when you or they seem to always have room for two SUCK Teams. This has happened twice now which I wont even watch. Like me who wants to watch the same teams every year? Got better things to do. This would be awesome Jon and thanks. The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 10 Share Posted December 18, 2021 Throw in a couple NIT levels to this and 48 teams could have a playoff experience. Put the first two rounds at upper seeded home games and the second two rounds at bowl venues and the money flows for everybody.
