Posted December 22, 20213 yr ESPN Texas A&M will not participate in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl because of COVID-19 issues and season-ending injuries within the program, leaving Wake Forest without an opponent as officials try to find a replacement team, it was announced Wednesday.
December 22, 20213 yr Would probably need to grab a team that recently played in a bowl game, like Utah State, since they have been keeping in "game shape" and not a team that had shut it down for the year 3-4 weeks ago.

December 22, 20213 yr It's going to be really interesting to see what The Gator Bowl decides to do. I can't imagine they will easily find another opponent wiling to prepare for a game that is only a week away. The game is scheduled to be on December 31.
December 22, 20213 yr Moderator Obviously, the SEC is afraid to take on an Alliance member ACC football team? Seriously, I am afraid this could be the first cancellation of many?
December 22, 20213 yr It's certainly possible more bowl games could be canceled. After almost 2 years it's part of the landscape. First hope all the A & M players and staff move thru this safely and quickly. Sorry the youngsters will miss out on THEIR bowl experience. Was looking forward to the game. Hope Wake can pick up an opponent......
