And I also dreamed of going 4-4 in the SEC?

BTW - Bama just signed the No. 1 RB in the portal. Kid from Georgia Tech.

It's Alabama's world and the rest of the teams are just playing games.

Rich are getting richer. Last year they got #1 offense and defense portal players

Alabama knows how to recruit, develop, scheme and now use the portal. Everyone else is just playing catch up. Even when programs think they have caught up, they end up getting run over.

And To'o To'o is Bama's leading tackler and Wilson, with Metchie out, is the Tide's leading receiver.

It is going to be very interesting to see if Cincy can keep up with Bama and the Tide's Heisman winning QB, Bryce Young. A kid (sigh) from SoCal. Another kid from SoCal, Daniels, could start at QB for UGA. A kid from Reno, McNamara, will start at QB for Michigan.

It's definitely not, "Go West, Young Man"! anymore, can't even get them to stay now.

Billy Beane: "There are rich teams, and there are poor teams. Then there's 50 feet of crap. And then there's us."

In NO WAY am I suggesting that our program is crap. We have a fine program.

However, in the world of winning, there's Alabama... and occasionally another team from the SEC, and then there's everybody else.

Today, CFB is all about the Benjamin's -- and in reality, has been for quite sometime.

The transfer portal, and the NIL, simply moved it into the stratosphere.

Saban really is a great coach. Initially he was all against the up-tempo offense. But, he saw that to keep winning he had to get with the program. Now Alabama scores, the AJ McCarron's and Greg McElvoy's are gone from 'Bama. The last two Heisman winners are an Alabama WR, and an Alabama QB.

And, in what might be his biggest skill. With all these great players, Alabama is still Hungry for more Championships. I expect it will take Alabama to say, "I'm full" for Saban to retire.
