Steven A Moderator No. 1 Share Posted December 30, 2021 Plus, both teams get a win. But the bigger question remains . . . . Do they then have to kiss their sister? "NC State did get a trophy for the bowl game and the contest will count as a win in the school’s record books, at least." David Marsh No. 3 Share Posted December 30, 2021 I dislike it... But I mean what are you (or anyone in power more importantly) really going to do about it? UCLA can't play and the trophy has a date on it... So might as well reward the team that managed to be ready to actually play and give them the trophy. LADuck No. 4 Share Posted December 30, 2021 Friend of mine is a High School baseball coach and told me about how the team banquets have evolved. He finally gave into today's parents and basically has an award for every player on the team. Most inspirational player that played less than 20 innings during the season for example. Not real but you get the idea. It is crazy and funny at the same time. Everyone's a winner!
McDuck No. 5 Share Posted December 30, 2021 If a team doesn't have enough players in the playoff isn't it ruled a forfeit? Why should a lower bowl game be different?
