Posted August 2, 20223 yr No article or research here, just pretty much the question, and a couple follow-up questions. Could it be done? How would it affect the SEC and the upcoming new Big 10?
August 2, 20223 yr Moderator Interesting question. Without a doubt, a logistical nightmare beyond anything thus far imagined by the SEC or B1G. The time zone two-step alone would make you wonder if you’re not watching an episode of Star Trek. Such a move would, in the end, probably force the hand of both big boys into making raids they’d only thought about before. A new PACCBIG would likely remain on paper, and never see the playing field.
August 2, 20223 yr That would be awesome! Take the 18 best teams and make west, central, and eastern pods. Play the other 5 pod teams in your region every year and 2 each from the other two regions on a rotating schedule.

What if all 35 teams (that, I think, would be the number after USC and Ucla leave the Pac-12, and Big 12 without TX and OK) are one Super-Duper Conference? Divide it up with sub-conferences and divisions?
August 2, 20223 yr I separated each conference into a top tier and 2nd tier football school. If you take the top tier of the Pac 12, Big 12 and ACC, it is on par with the B1G TEN and SEC. If you were able to pick and choose which schools for a merge between Pac 12, Big 12 and ACC, it would be deeper than both the SEC and B1G TEN. A 3rd conference could happen and it would be on par with both the SEC and B1G TEN, but it would be a nightmare for olympic sports. This is from what have you done for me lately. Records from 2010-2021. Pac 12 Big 12 B1G TEN SEC ACC Oregon OKSU tOSU Alabama Clemson Utah Baylor PSU LSU FSU Wash TCU Mich UGA MSU UF Miami Stanford KSU USC Auburn Va Tech ASU WV Oklahoma Louisville TT WISC UCF Iowa Miss. St. Nebraska Texas T A&M Group 5 schools with the top winning % in the top 50 schools Boise St. Applachian St. San Diego St. Northern Ill. Toledo Houston Ohio Arkansas St. Cincinnati Navy Louisiana Tech Marshall BYU Air Force Western Kentucky Utah State
