Bo Nix appreciative of Chip Kelly's offensive innovations from his Oregon days

The son of a football coach, Nix understood football better than most his peers growing up. Even as an 11 year-old how,

he appreciated the dynamic Oregon offense even though they squared off with the team he grew up rooting for.

Oregon Ducks receiver Chase Cota faces former team in top 10 showdown with UCLA

“All the players and coaches have been asking for an inside scoop,” he said. “I know there’s a new defensive coordinator

and everything. With the offense, they’re running different guys than what we had in the past."

"Obviously, watching their games, it’s not all the same that I’ve seen in the past

but helping them out and giving them little tidbits when I can for sure.”

Enjoyed the Motavau interview but the TE our TE's should be watching is the TE Utah used to beat USC, Duncan Kincaid.  That pretty much set the standard for TE performances for me old eyes. Wow.

Pac 12 gets little love, especially the Bruins.  They are undefeated, but have less chance of making the playoffs than 2 loss Texas?  I know the calculations are done by computers, so there is zero human bias, but still crazy.

Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Michigan and Tennessee have the inside track on the College Football Playoff but which teams will ultimately make up the field?

I believe the CFP has gotten the final 4 correct every season, so I can't see them bringing in Texas with 2 losses, unless there is absolute chaos.  However, there has always been at least 4 teams with 1 loss or less.  I can't see the CFP committee breaking tradition and bringing in a team with 2 losses over another team with 1 loss.  Texas's schedule is back loaded, but up to this point they have beaten zero ranked teams and only 1 power 5 team with a winning record.  Not exactly CFP worthy resume.

Oregon’s biggest weakness is one of UCLA’s greatest strengths, will the Ducks make enough stops on third down?

Oregon’s biggest weakness, its inability to get off the field on third down, matches with one of UCLA’s greatest offensive strengths.

The No. 10 Ducks (5-1, 3-0 Pac-12) are 129th of 131 FBS teams, allowing opponents to convert on 50.6% of third downs.

The No. 9 Bruins (6-0, 3-0) have converted 54.79% of their third downs, fourth in the country entering Saturday’s game.

Why Oregon Will Beat UCLA This Weekend

The energy will undoubtedly be felt at Autzen Stadium as this is just the first Top-10 matchup to be played there since 2014.

Oregon obviously loves playing in Eugene, where they have a 22-game winning streak, the third-longest in the nation.

This will be a fight for the Ducks, but one where they can come out on top. The keys to this one will be stopping Dorian Thompson-Robinson,

keeping Bo Nix moving, and using the home-field advantage. Click inside box to see article.

Zach Charbonnet’s running speaks loudly for No. 9 UCLA

Pro Football Focus ranked Charbonnet – a 6-foot-1, 220-pounder with a 4.41-second 40-yard time – as the No. 3 running back and The Athletic had him No. 6.:

  1. He’s No. 8 in the nation with 151.6 all-purpose yards per game
  2. He’s No. 8 with 123 rushing yards per game.
  3. He’s No. 6 with 7.07 yards per carry.

Oregon is allowing just 98 yards per game on the ground, boasting a run defense that ranks tops in the Pac-12 and 13th in the nation.

Who's going to give? This is article from the Orange County Register.

The senior is quietly making a case as being the best running back in the Pac-12 – if not the nation. His next test: No. 10 Oregon’s stingy run defense.

It will feature two candidates for the Heisman Trophy, two teams that have a good chance of making it to the Pac-12 Championship,

if not the College Football Playoff, and the return of a coach who should be known by nothing less than a legend in Eugene — Chip Kelly.

There’s so much historical precedence at stake, that the fact this is the first top 10 match-up in the PAC-12 since 2016

and that Bruins-Ducks is featured on ESPN GameDay two years in a row would barely be a footnote.
