My friends....I do not know basketball well, and it gets even more difficult trying to learn with Bill Walton distracting us--but could you believe how well the final 15 seconds was executed?

We had a foul to give and our players waited until 1.1 second left to foul, and thus the Wildcats could not go to the line!  And with the final second--the shooter had to delay a second as the defender flew by.  Wow...Dana Altman is to be credited for the plan and the players for executing it to perfection.  Too bad Tucson!

That was a brilliant play, and another example of why Oregon has beaten Arizona in 9 of the last 11 games. The Ducks make plays. Oregon has Dana Altman, Arizona has Sean Miller. It used to be that Arizona had a talent advantage over Oregon, that isn't the case anymore.

Duarte scored 18 in the first half against ASU, 0 in the 2nd half, and for quite awhile didn't have many in this one, until the 3 that put the Ducks on top. Eugene from Eugene had another strong game, as did LJ Figueroa, who has found a 3 point shot in the last two games. These are the Ducks we've come to know under Altman, getting it done when it counts the most.

So sad for the Wildcats. Go Ducks.

Does Dana Altman own Sean Miller?

12 wins vs 6 losses

6 wins vs 1 loss in Eugene

5 wins vs 3 losses in Tucson

1 win vs 2 losses in the conference tournament

Arizona crumbles under Oregon's pressure at the end again, recap from GoDucks.com

Duarte, Defense Lead Ducks Past Wildcats

For the Ducks to out-rebound a much taller Arizona team speaks of tremendous effort and technique. Much credit to the Ducks for saving and wisely utilizing the foul at the end. Our D worked very hard in this game. I am glad I recorded the game-one to look at again to pick up the finer points. Our experienced transfers played well.

Figueroa was huge the last two games, his timely 3's stand out. But, as you mentioned, he and Omoruyi are just demonstrating the veteran presence, along of course with Duarte. It definitely shows up at the end of games.

If Kepnang keeps progressing the way he looks to be, and Dante comes back strong next season.....plus adding Nathan Bittle..........don't want to jinx us, but if even two of those three guys stays healthy we will have a real strong looking front court.

Richardson, Terry and Estrada in the backcourt should be solid as well. Plus whoever Altman adds from the portal.

But back to this season. The Ducks much more experienced guys (especially relative to AZ) won this one late....Figueroa, Omoruyi and Duarte at the end with the arrow to the heart.
