The Game Countdown...What Are YOU Looking For?
How does this almost brand new offensive line come together and how many games does it take for them to gel as a solid unit, which I think they will become? Can we coach our way to a quicker start than we did against Idaho? I recall that game as a bit of a nail biter and it should not have been? And of course, how does our new QB perform? BTW who is our new QB?

The Game Countdown...What Are YOU Looking For?
OK...it is cool to find out the uniform later today, but I cannot wait to see the starting lineups, especially in the defensive backfield, and especially after David Marsh's article recently that made us ponder. How about you?

Oregon - Montana State Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
Disagree with ESPN, but go ahead, keep disrespecting Oregon. The team will be better because of it. What ESPN experts are saying about Dante Moore and the Big Ten's best quarterbacksESPN ranked the top quarterbacks in each conference ahead of Saturday's Week One slate of games, and Oregon's Dante Moore gets a tepid evaluation. An anonymous Big Ten coach told the website, "Dante is pro-style. If Dante ran a 40, he'd run a 4.9." Cam Ward, the first quarterback taken in the NFL draft, ran a 4.87. Jaxson Dart didn't run one at all. Besides that, Moore worked on his speed over the offseason. He reached 21.5 miles per hour on the GPS in summer testing. Asked about Moore, Dan Lanning told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, "I see the arm talent, the ability to operate, very similar to what Bo [Nix] and Dillon had. He can check plays. He's probably more similar to Dillon from a pocket presence standpoint, but more similar to Bo in the ability to really put us in really advantageous plays." Somebody...Please Mansplain This to Me...
Can you trademark a phrase that’s been public property for ever since? The fact is the pair is getting double their money’s worth out of this filing; the obvious laugh by being open about what everyone is saying behind their backs, and the ironic humor of making money off of making money off of someone. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see who laughs last.

Breaking: Fox and YouTube TV Agree to Short-Term Extension in Time for CFB...
From On3... News broke on Monday of a carriage dispute between YouTube TV and FOX, putting college football fans in jeopardy of missing some top games of the weekend. Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET was highlighted as a critical moment, where channels could be taken away on the streaming platform. FOX, FS1, and the Big Ten Network were all in danger if something could not be figured out. Both sides have released statements on the matter. And now, another update has been provided. YouTube TV and FOX have reached a “short-term extension,” and customers will not see disruptions in service. YouTube TV tweeted the update on Wednesday at 5:02 p.m. ET. “We’ve reached a short-term extension with Fox to avoid service disruption for YouTube TV subscribers while we work on a new agreement,” the tweet read. “We’re committed to advocating on behalf of our members as we work toward a fair deal and will keep you posted on our progress.” YouTube TV also explained the next step in its blog. The company plans to offer a $10 credit if content becomes unavailable at any point. “In order to provide you with the best in live sports and entertainment, YouTube TV enters into partnerships with content providers like Fox,” the statement read. “Our priority is to reach a deal that’s fair for both sides and allows us to preserve the value of our service. We have reached a short-term extension with Fox to prevent disruption to YouTube TV subscribers as we continue to work on a new agreement. We are committed to advocating on behalf of our subscribers as we work toward a fair deal and will keep you updated on our progress. If their content becomes unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $10 credit. FOX is set to host one of Week 1’s best showdowns, as the Texas Longhorns travel up to Columbus to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. Big Noon Kickoff will also be in town before Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, and Jenny Taft have the call from inside the Shoe. One day earlier, the Baylor Bears will open their season in a massive non-conference matchup against the Auburn Tigers. A nice Friday night appetizer to the full Saturday slate, scheduled to be broadcast by Jason Benetti, Robert Griffin III, and Alexa Landestoy on FOX. FOX, YouTube TV Release Statements on Carriage DisputeYouTube TV was the one to get ahead of the situation, giving customers their perspective on where things stand. Shortly after, FOX released a statement of its own. Fingers are being pointed at one another — YouTube TV wants the price to be lowered, while FOX says Google (who owns YouTube TV) is not negotiating. “Our current agreement with Fox is approaching its renewal date and we are in active and ongoing negotiations to continue carrying their content,” YouTube TV said in a statement. “Fox is asking for payments that are far higher than what partners with comparable content offerings receive. Our priority is to reach a deal that reflects the value of their content and is fair for both sides without passing on additional costs to our subscribers." FOX then responded via FOS, saying, “While FOX remains committed to reaching a fair agreement with Google’s YouTube TV, we are disappointed that Google continually exploits its outsized influence by proposing terms that are out of step with the marketplace. We are alerting FOX viewers who are YouTube TV subscribers that they could lose access to much of their favorite news, sports, entertainment, and local station programming unless Google engages in a meaningful way soon.”

Why Tosh Lupoi Must Have His Best Season
I couldn't have said it better Solar! If you're going to get criticized anyway, you might as well do it your way! I do believe the best coaches are flexible however. Think of Nick Saban throwing a Freshman into the fire in the second half of the Natty. That takes guts!. Then imagine the next year, those two players switch again, and defeat the same team-again. In both cases, the playbook expanded according to each players' relative strengths. Against an extremely talented defense both times. In my eyes, that says to me Saban recognizes things happen that require junking your game plan. Of course, that's a tough pill to swallow if you believe in your philosophy (or game plan), Which of course means, how much do you trust yourself and your instincts? How much do you trust your staff? There are so many components to dealing with the intricacies of the game. Which means sometimes it really isn't ego, but just going with what you feel is the best move to make according to what you see and feel about what's happening. Which is why I believe your point is so valid.

Oh I believe we all feel this way. We really want that Natty!

I'm with you on this Drake. Sometimes it just boils down to mano y mano, and your philosophical take on the game won't necessarily work.

Why Tosh Lupoi Must Have His Best Season
@Mike West - Great article, thank you! All of your article, and many of the comments here, focus on Lupoi being the sole steward of the defense. Am I being too much of a stickler if I link Dan Lanning to the defense as much as Lupoi? Seems like he should have the defense humming, regardless of DC, given his background, no? Would be interesting to know how involved Dan Lanning is in the defense. Then I remind myself to put things in perspective that I can't expect OBD to thoroughly dominate every single team on both sides of the ball. Other teams have excellent coaching and talent and resources, too. The spoiled fan is coming out in me, that I want perfection against . . . the best teams in college football. Ha, that's not fair Either way, I'm very excited about this season, and have high hopes for both offense and defense.

Big Ten Going to 20 Members in the Future?
The Maryland (!) AD with inside information? If this were coming out of Columbus or Ann Arbor, I'd have more buy-in. How about 24, all Newbies are AAU members - Notre Dame, only when the ACC implodes and ND loses the ACC scheduling agreement, ASU, Kansas, UVA, UNC, and Duke. Eat What You Kill. Winners keep the Moneyball postseason money that they win. Eyes on the Prize. Revenue is distributed based on the number of folks tuning in to watch your games, including postseason games. Four 6-team divisions. West - OBD, UW, UCLA, USC, ASU, and the farthest west Central time zone team, Kansas. Central - Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Northwestern. Mid-East - Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Rutgers. East - Penn State, Notre Dame, Duke, UNC, Maryland, and UVA. Rutgers fits in the East, but is placed in the Mid-East, and ND in the East for competitive balance. WAG ALERT! Swallow this along with a B1G serving of crab cakes.

Big Ten Going to 20 Members in the Future?
I honestly doubt North Carolina and Virginia go the Big Ten, since there's been countless reports the Tar Heels and the SEC have mutual interest.

Yes sir, there are HS age kids getting work done on a regular basis and you cannot trust any photograph of anything.

I don't know, I've yet to see Bill starring in an ad for Viagra. 😁 If it is true, I'd advise Billy Bob to insist on a paternity test. 🙃

Big Ten Going to 20 Members in the Future?
Aside from the ND fantasy…in no particular order; UNC, Duke, Virginia, FSU, Miami, Clemson (sensing a pattern?) probably top the list. B12 is lacking any truly marquee brands to pilfer imo. All kinds of chatter out there, but 2 teams should come from this list. My guess is still that by 2030 this will all be moot.

Big Ten Going to 20 Members in the Future?
When the ACC dissolves....Florida State and Clemson will go to the SEC, while North Carolina and Miami to the B1G? Set up two Big-10 divisions with ten teams each; play the other nine in conference, and three OOC games for the schedule with a conference championship game. Notre Dame is making too much money with their own TV contract to take a pay cut going into a conference IMHO. Although they would be a great fit for us...

Ruh-Roh! UNLV AD Prefers Mountain West Over "New World" Pac-12...
Yeah. I was perplexed by BSU and SDSU fumbling all over themselves to join like it was an invitation in 1995. They should have held fast with the MWC and made OSU and WSU come to the table eventually. The PIG2 could not have held out forever. Instead they gave up all leverage and decided to go to court for years. Completely moronic, with all due respect and imo. 😂

I appreciate everyone's patience in overlooking those "backlink" sentences in articles that help to pay the bills of the two FD sites. The SEO company who paid me on this backlink was located in... Andorra! A nation the size of the Willamette Valley...

Ruh-Roh! UNLV AD Prefers Mountain West Over "New World" Pac-12...
In the latest embarrassment for the "Scrap-12?" The UNLV AD issued an interesting remark, a real backhanded-slap to the current Pac-12, and John Canzano was trying to downplay it, but to no avail. UNLV Athletic Director Erick Harper: "...based on the current landscape, we felt the best decision for us was to stay in the Mountain West. For one thing, the Pac-12 is not what the Pac-12 once was. It’s the same logo but without USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Utah, it’s not the same conference."
