  2. Beginning to warm up about our Diamond Ducks? I suggest you go to the game threads below and read about how Oregon won those games. I insert videos from the Oregon Baseball "X" account, so you can see the home runs, big strikeouts, and incredible fielding plays. Don't have or want an "X" (Twitter) account? Get one anyway so you can watch my video posted, because I personally never post on my "X" site, never read it, and never even go to my "X" site! You don't have to! Just sign up, and then unsubscribe from their emails and you won't have any hassle, but can watch the Oregon Sports videos put in OBD forum posts. Just Do It! Such a lovely sight...
  3. Absolutely. I posted in another thread that I thought Beavs would drop to 6, and OBD would jump to 10. I definitely didn't see this. The Beavs are wacked now. The Ducks just swept the traditional series. Now, the Ducks are 6 and they're 7, with a game in Corvallis tomorrow night. OBD have to stay calm.
  4. I was thinking they could possibly crack the top 10, but this is fantastic! Go Ducks!
  5. Given that the NCAA has mastered in inertia since its inception, filing for bankruptcy is unlikely, add in that even though it is standard practice, the NCAA is so thin skinned, bankruptcy is probably out of the question. The NCAA has fed on low hanging food forever, wouldn't touch the UNC classroom scandal, but ripped Reggie Bush's Heisman away over his parent's and a car. Vacating wins is the silliest punishment ever conceived; the NCAA loves it.
  6. The unbelievable weekend generated an unbelievable result in the D1Baseball polls for Our Beloved Ducks. They went from No. 16 last week to No. 6 in the nation, while Oregon State dropped from No. 3 to a very respectable No.7...having to Duck-below their rival in Eugene in the poll. What is interesting also is how the west coast has three teams in the top 10, (as does the ACC) and I am not sure I have witnessed both Oregon and Oregon State in the top ten EVER at the same time. I am sure I will have a press release coming to me soon about the historical significance of this week's poll. Regardless, it is a proud moment for College Baseball in the state of Oregon! The only other team ranked in the top-25 from the B1G is No. 14 UCLA, while Iowa is unranked. I assume it is because the majority of their wins are against sub-.500 teams, but it will get settled when the Ducks travel to Iowa City for the final three-game series of the conference season in three weeks. D1Baseball Top 25: Texas remains No. 1; chaos reigns throughout rankings • D1Baseball D1BASEBALL.COM While Texas remains the No. 1 team in the land, the rest of the rankings are filled with carnage after a tumultuous Week 11. For the first time EVER...they feature a picture of Oregon Baseball at D1Baseball for their lead rankings article! That is Cole Stokes exulting at a key strike-out late in the second game... My Duck-Buddies....I NEVER thought last weekend would happen, as I hoped for a split between the four games in order to have a chance at hosting a NCAA Playoff Regional Series. But now...if we keep winning most of our remaining games--we have a shot at hosting a Super-Regional? Holy Crap!
  7. Wondering about that too. Beavs were No.3, their highest of the season, OBD at No.13, their highest. 13 sweeps 3 at home? I'll go Beavs drop to 6, OBD to 10. So, not 8 yet.
  8. Pretty awesome, wish I could have been there this past weekend, sounds like it was a great environment. Going to be interesting to see where the Ducks are ranked. It's a huge win for the quest to hosting a regional. I'm pretty doubtful we can get into the top 8, but I do think we could get a regional.
  9. JPJ adds a helping hand Las Vegas Raiders Jackson Powers-Johnson Recruiting 5-Star Jackson Cantwell To Orego WWW.SI.COM Five-star offensive line recruit Jackson Cantwell visited the Oregon Ducks over the weekend for the team's Spring Game, and it was...

  11. Oh Boy! Troy contributed 3 of the picks, but is spot-on when it comes to the ramifications of the Power 2 dominating the draft. Big Ten and SEC dominate the 2025 NFL draft TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Much like all of college football in 2025, the NFL draft was dominated by the “Power Two” conferences. It will lead to discussions about the system The argument against the Power 2 having four teams each in the PO is as 'sound' as the Beavers and Wazzu blaming Oregon and UW for the demise of the Pac-12. The better questions to ask: Why is the B12 assured of two PO spots? And shouldn't the ACC be guaranteed one and a half teams?
  12. I see the Ducks just went 1 slot ahead of the Beavs in the rankings. Lovely Isn’t it? Great weekend for the Ducks. I wonder if Beavis is upset. Makes me want to Shout.
  13. ND, I, along with many others, do not believe the House settlement will curtail NIL in any meaningful way. It could have done so, but not with the cap on what schools can pay directly to their athletes. It's the same old, same old: the NCAA is trying to control the benefits that 'student-athletes' can receive. And the idea that seven accountants are going to decide on what is 'reasonable' when it comes to every NIL deal $600 and over will hold up until the first deal that is found to be 'unreasonable.' How can any lawyer advising the NCAA opine that this nonsense will withstand a legal challenge? How can any lawyer advising Georgia and Oregon not see this? It's the same Fantasyland the NCAA has been living in for decades, especially since losing its college football broadcast monopoly courtesy of Georgia and Oklahoma. Why Georgia and Oregon are supporting this so-called settlement is beyond me. Why should programs capitalizing on their success with better media revenue agree to the same direct payment cap as programs not in the same league financially? The remedy to escape the House jury's potential $2 billion plus judgement, should the case go to trial, is for the NCAA to file for bankruptcy and automatically stay the House proceedings until the NCAA is liquidated or reorganized. Yes, the NCAA can file for bankruptcy. The NCAA does not manage the P4 and G6 football playoffs. The P4 and the G6 can regulate sports free of the NCAA and its over 1,100 members. And also conduct other playoffs with invitations to teams outside of the P4 and the G6. The House settlement does nothing to control 'unrestricted' transfers that, coupled with NIL and poaching, has the college moneyball sports in chaos. Sorry for another rant on the subject. I don't Get It! I can see this, and I am far from the smartest lawyer who practiced bankruptcy law back then and today.

  20. Discussing an unexpected standout from Saturday's Spring GameHUGE DEVELOPMENT: Oregon quarterback Luke Moga SHOWED huge progress at Ducks' Spring Game
  21. Great Duck. I always thought his kid would be a Duck but he chose the Bruins instead. Kevin is a beast. Great family of athletes. May Stan rest in peace.
  22. Brock got nearly three times that amount last year in signing bonus and Ladd's signing bonus at the top of the second round was also higher than Beck's reported NIL. But many of the guys drafted in rounds 5-7 can only dream about making the money next year that Carson Beck will pocket. One such player is Quinn Ewers. Had he opted for the portal rather than the NFL draft, He'd have made at least three times as much actually playing football for a good college team than he will as a 7th round draftee carrying a clipboard on an NFL sideline and maybe hoping for some mop-up duty in a blowout. Jon what say you about the likely House settlement? Do you believe this will bring some sanity to NIL payouts?
  23. I stated going into the UCLA series that up to that time...for every team we played....we were the hunted, the ranked team they wanted to beat, and everybody raised their game when they played us. I was hoping that facing a higher set of ranked teams in No. 10 UCLA and No. 3 Oregon State, that we were now the hunter--and it would inspire our best efforts which would not only win games, but allow the team to see their true upside. And THAT is what happened!
  24. I think it is difficult to judge QBs when personnel are divided between two different offenses. It takes time for a starting QB to get in sync with the starters, much less players that will probably be on the sidelines most games. To me, It looks like our defense will be formidable, and the offense will need game time to gel. As far as slipping on the turf, I think some players are amped up and trying to defy physics. These guys are strong and fast, and want to show they belong. With more playing time those slips will diminish.
  25. Now that was an excellent weekend of baseball! Super excited for this team to go out and be able to adapt to the game. They played small ball when needed and then they went on a huge run of consistent batting to mass a 13-1 pummeling in game 2. Followed by another pitching duel in game 3. The Ducks held the Beavs to 5 runs in 3 games while they racked up 20 runs. This is a testament to some excellent pitching, feilding, batting and base running, played 3 complete game with few to little errors. Can't forget to mention the coaching. The biggest difference in the 2 close games was game strategy and the manufacturing points off of minimal hints with minimal base runners. Every part of this team was firing on all cylinders this weekend. Now go out there and do the same on Tuesday.
  26. Most entertaining spring game since Marcus’ coming out party imo. Feels like we have 4 good QBs, but it’s always fun to watch people fall in love with the backup(s). I left the game feeling like we had a pretty clear #1 based upon upside and clear arm talent. Not trying to knock Novasad, as I think we’d do great with him, but he was 5 of 9 with the bulk of his numbers coming on one pass. I’m not drawing any conclusion from that. I’ll be surprised if we don’t lose him though, he seems very capable of being a starter on a top-20 team. My biggest takeaway is that it would be shocking to not win at least 10 games. The offense will do Oregon things no matter who is at QB, and I think the D will be as good as ever.
