  2. They said that Toby Twist was "on a pitch count" last night, and he gave up two of the game total of three St. Mary's runs in the first inning, the only one he pitched. Will they bring him in for another inning tonight to continue to get the cobwebs out? We also need Will Sanford to get his control back, and I would expect to see him some tonight, if not the starter. But we also have some freshmen who showed some promise such as Michael Meckna from Nebraska. We haven't seen him in a while, and we do need more pitching depth for the B1G Tournament coming up. Michael Meckna

Oregon Ducks' Dillon Thieneman Ranked Among Best Defensive Backs in College Football Entering the 2025 college football campaign, the Oregon Ducks are going to have the No. 4 ranked transfer portal. On defense, Purdue Boilermakers defensive back Dillon Thieneman will lead the charge while Tulane Green Wave running back Makhi Hughes can be an immediate source of offense for coordinator Will Stein. 5. Beyond that... our rotation of runningbacks just wasn't as strong. Additional note... B1G defenses are a bit stouter on the line of scrimmage than Pac-12 defenses. I did a pretty extensive breakdown of the running game's decline last year over previous years that can be found via the link below. Rebuilding Oregon’s Offense for 2025: Running Back | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM Oregon’s run game in 2024 was good. At 13-1 with a B1G Championship under their belt, the Ducks were a very good team... I don't think the offensive line was as cohesive as it was in 2022 or 2023. I think the injuries to both Mathew Bedford and Dave Iuli in the early season certainly had a negative impact on our offensive line. Poncho has developed nicely though breaking in a new center does have bumps. Though I will say the runningback room last year just didn't feel as deep as it did in the previous years. In 2022 James was used as a short yardage back while Irving and Whittington shared snaps and Nix actually had the most rushing touchdowns. In 2023 Nix didn't run as much but the combo of Irving and James was pronominal. This last year James was the featured back and without him we didn't have much of a run game. Whittington is at best a change a pace back and the youngsters were still developing. Hoping this year the runningback room and the offensive line reasserts itself. Final note... last season we saw a new Offensive Line Coach in Terry and a new runningback coach in Samples.

Fan sues NFL for $100M over Shedeur Sanders falling in draft WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Most people were stunned at how long it took for Shedeur Sanders to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, but one fan says the experience was downright devastating for him.
  7. Say it isn't so! So let me see if I got this right....in 2025--Oregon will receive more (54 Million) in the B1G after a discounted share, than each SEC team received in 2024? "The SEC released tax records in February that showed $840 million in total revenue and average per-school distributions of about $52.5 million to the 14 schools other than newcomers Oklahoma and Texas.”
  8. That is an offensive philosophy that comes from the OC and HC, IMHO. Blocking technique is influenced by the offense, and I believe that Stein's priorities and how the OL blocking is taught will continue to improve. One reason that run-yardage may have been less, is that Nix was more effective runner than Gabriel, and we clearly did less of Zone-Reading this last year. I do expect less QB running this year, with a bigger emphasis on the passing game because of all the talent at WR and TE.
  9. Something that was always evident, but has become very pronounced this year is the massive difference in talented and experienced depth between the defensive and offensive lines. We have quite a ways to go in building the same depth on the offensive line that we have on the defensive line. The starting offensive line is very good and talented, but they were spread between the two teams and as always--the Spring Game always highlights that disparity. But this year....it was the biggest difference EVER, IMHO.
  10. Holy Crap! What I love about the information source, is that it is taken from UO Athletic Budget numbers...and 2025 revenue numbers for Oregon are taking into account the lower share distribution...and even then--it will be over TWICE what we would have had with the Pac-12 offer from Apple. Even if we had taken the 30 million ESPN offer per school--we would be nearly double that this year! Beavis says...."You zeros claim you left because it was about survival?" Yes, Beavis, as the numbers are already evident. Besides...aren't you stealing 100 million from the ten former Pac-12 members and claiming that YOU needed it for survival? Beavis says...."You zeros destroyed the conference, as it will never be the same." Look Beavis, we did not want to go until the last minute, and it is evident we made the right decision. Besides, when discussing destroying a conference....what did you do to the Mountain West? Hey Beavis...

  13. Oregon basketball has gone into the transfer portal and landed another high-level athlete to join the roster next season. For the second time this offseason, Dana Altman and his coaching staff have dipped into the transfer portal pool of players and plucked a commitment from a fellow Big Ten program. This time around, the Ducks are getting a former Top 25 player in the country by both the 247Sports Rankings and the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Sean Stewart, a 6-foot-9 forward out of Ohio State, recently completed an official visit to Eugene and has since committed to the Oregon Ducks. He announced his decision on his social media channels. 16. I think this is the best O line talent since 2019. I'm honestly still not sold on Terry. He comes from the Cristobal tree, a tree that focuses on ensuring no negative plays and considers any yards gained past the linebackers to be a bonus. Rushing lanes past the front seven were few and far between last year. If we hadn't had Mr Yards after first contact James, we would have been screwed. I hope run blocking is significantly improved this year as the RB room's strength will not be breaking arm tackles.
  17. Why can't we get these Bucks off our backs? Then again, revenge would be so sweet. 20. There is a lot of talent on this offensive line, even outside of the transfers. Just need to get that line in sync which is something that is difficult to do in mixed squads in a spring game.

  22. Man, do I have mixed feelings about Bobo. I think the game has passed him by a little bit, but all the criticism about predictable play-calling stemmed last year from repeated injuries on the offensive side of the ball (particularly on the OL) and perhaps the worst receiver room I can remember throughout the Kirby Smart era. Plus, the best offensive analyst Georgia had who worked well with Bobo, got snatched by Georgia Tech as their OC last year. While Bobo could have done better, he called plays that he thought would work best with whom he had to work, even if they were unimaginative. When Bobo was the offensive analyst at Georgia, he deserved much of the credit for the development of Matt Stafford and that was well known by the Curtis family. This was another big reason that Curtis ultimately picked Georgia. Curtis is the closest prototype to Matt Stafford that Georgia has seen, so voila. I figure this gives Bobo at least two more years to do his development thing so we will all see what happens there.

  26. In anticipation of the House settlement and direct from the school payment to athletes being approved, schools have informed certain athletes, mainly football and men's basketball players, as to the amount they will receive in direct payments. For some reason, NIL collectives, especially in the case of CBB players, upped the NIL bidding for transfer talent for seemingly no reason. $20.5 million in 2025, subject to one of those pesky antitrust suits, is the House settlement direct payment cap, but there is not and cannot be a cap on NIL deals. I imagine direct payment to the player contracts will have an 'exit fee clause' if a player transfers to another school (the Arkansas collective is suing Nico's younger brother, and I think UCLA also, for breach of such a clause), and an assignment of a player's NIL as part of the deal. Good Luck, yuck, yuck. Professional leagues in the USA have caps on salaries, or a 'luxury tax' to hold salaries down, but no professional league is silly enough to try to restrict a player from marketing their own NIL. Seven Deloitte accountants deciding that an NIL deal exceeds 'market value' is DOA. This group is going to review every NIL deal $600 and over. What is this going to cost in billable accountant hours? The House settlement is a last-gasp attempt by the NCAA to remain relevant in big-time college football and basketball. I have no idea why the Power 2 are buying into a settlement that caps direct payments to athletes at the same amount as the G6, ACC, and B12.
