  2. Examining Oregon's Options at QB for 2026 | Latest Buzz From Final OV Weekend Oregon quarterback recruiting saw another domino fall on Tuesday, with 5-star Folsom (Calif.) quarterback Ryder Lyons committing to BYU over Oregon. The Oregon coaching staff was ready for this development however, as Will Stein, Koa Ka’ai and others have continued to recruit other quarterbacks this cycle. ScoopDuck’s Max Torres and Justin Hopkins dive into the latest with 4-star quarterbacks Bryson Beaver and Matt Ponatoski, who both took official visits to Oregon this weekend and are mulling over their commitments. Quarterback recruiting has become one of the craziest parts of college football. Top passers are commanding serious NIL money, and their decisions are watched over and scrutinized perhaps more than any other position in the sport. Oregon will always pursue the best of the best at the prep level, even if their previous starters the last three seasons have come from the transfer portal. Oregon’s quarterback room is loaded in Eugene. Dante Moore, Austin Novosad, Luke Moga and Akili Smith Jr. make up the scholarship players on the roster and they could all be back in Eugene for the 2026 season. Max and Justin also take a closer look at some of the biggest names on campus in Eugene for their Oregon official visits this past weekend in 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and 3-star Cal interior offensive lineman Koloi Keli. Oregon could be in line to add to their 2026 recruiting class with many of their top targets eying commitments in the coming weeks and months leading up to the start of their senior seasons. 3. 2025 College Football Prediction, Best Bet: Back Oregon to Eclipse Win Total With college football kicking off in just two months, it's time to assess how successful — or how unsuccessful — teams will be this upcoming season. There is one team whose win total stood out to me in particular: the Oregon Ducks. And based on what we know about this team from last year and its offseason moves, I'm ready to throw down some cash on these Ducks. Let's take a look at what I think Oregon's regular-season win total will be. 2025 College Football Prediction, Best Bet: Back Oregon to Eclipse Win Total WWW.FOXSPORTS.COM Find out why Geoff Schwartz is backing the Oregon Ducks to eclipse their regular-season win totals. Let's get into it.
  4. My Duck-Buddies: I am forced to migrate this forum to a new version--where they can charge me more. (Of course) The new version is a massive change, although this forum should not change in appearance. Most of the change will occur in the backend, where I have to learn a ton of new stuff with the dashboard. Naturally I have no choice, as the software provider will discontinue giving service and security patches soon. So I have to roll with it. This migration will occur in the near-future, and the forum will be shut down for 1-2 days, and prior to it occurring...I will let you know. It is very costly, as just one element of the forum, our moderation system, is going to cost $700.00 alone. The rest of the bill? I try not to think about it, but I know our web developer in England is devoting a weekend to this, and it won't be cheap. I AM the Shameless Beggar, and there is a gold-colored button at the top of the site for donations. If you can spare some dollars to help keep this unique community going--I would be grateful. WHO Makes Money Off the Forum? Regardless of the countless hours I put in, I take NO draws from the site. I get paid nothing, but I am not the only one who puts in TONS of hours on a volunteer basis. We have a dozen moderators, and a number of Duck News Hunters who bring the articles to you for free, and do it out of love for Our Beloved Ducks...and you. Our wonderful writers who have each written over 100 FishDuck articles each, (yours-truly has written over 600 articles) and they get nothing for all the incredible hours of research, writing, and photo-editing they do. All these guys and gals are generous to us all, and again--I cannot function without them. I joke with the tech people and the photographers that although they are underpaid for their skills--they are still the only ones making money off the sites! These sites are my-babies, and I will continue to allocate the time because I love the discussion, the community, and of course....Our Beloved Ducks. If you can help, please go to the "Donate" gold-colored button at the top of the front page of the forum. Thank you! This Shameless Beggar began asking for money nearly 14 years ago, (above) at the beginning of this adventure...

  7. Was hoping FSU gets back on track ASAP to put even more pressure on the U but with a QB with that mentality, I'm not so sure it's going to happen.
  8. "I want to leave here as the winningest coach in Oregon football history" Lanning told Amaranthus. That's awesome.
  9. So Gatlin will be back for 2026 or 2027? Also he was recruited by Adams. It's just one more reason we need our new WR coach to really work some magic. I was watching the 2013 Texas vs Oregon Bowl game last night. The commentator noted we were destroying them by running everyone on go routes through lanes in the zone defense and Mariota must have thrown 10 passes in the 20-30 yard range + yac. Why can't we do the same with Moore's arm and our WR's?
  10. I believe the letter of intent expires after 18 months while the athlete is on an LDS mission? Not sure it is still true, but some athletes would sign a letter of commitment rather than letter of intent to provide both the athlete and the school more flexibility. That may benefit the athlete if there is a potential for coaching changes while on a mission. Remember, this guy is still out there... Gatlin Bair commits to Oregon Ducks; 5-star receiver says Dan Lanning 'is not going anywhere' - Sports Illustrated High School News, Analysis and More WWW.SI.COM During the recruiting process, Burley (Idaho) five-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair has experienced the fast-moving world of college football. 13. B(ring) Y(our) U(nlimited) NIL . Nothing like getting rich shortly before leaving on a mission. Give everything away and follow me.
  14. This. I was wondering why we were wasting time on him? Even if he committed to Oregon and joined us in three years--he would not be ready for games until two years later, as that is assumed at Oregon? So why were we wasting time recruiting a QB who will not be helpful until 2030? (Especially when we can get a great portal QB every year?)
  15. Frankly, Oregon deserves the ranking received, (No. 20) as we peaked too early. The last two years the Ducks finished at No. 12 in the nation, and we have good times ahead. Surprisingly...D1Baseball put Beavis at No. 4, and B1G MCWS representative UCLA at No. 5 in the nation. Think of it...Oregon took six out of seven games against those teams. Sigh. (I can't complain...we had our chances) With Arizona at No. 7, the west coast finished with three in the top seven, and five in the top 25 with Oregon at No. 20, and UC Irvine at No. 25. There is good baseball on the west coast that is ignored back east, and thankfully--D1Baseball sees it. College Baseball Rankings: D1Baseball releases final top 25 after College World Series - On3 WWW.ON3.COM College baseball season has come to an end, and D1Baseball has released its final top 25 rankings after LSU's championship. Interesting that now the B1G has two Baseball teams in the top 20...and they are former Pac-12 teams. We're helping the league!

  23. "We need to turn over every available stone ..." I disagree, I do not want to see college sports sold to private equity firms. Firms that will not invest money without having a voice in the sports going forward. The media already has far too much influence on college athletics. There is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow or under any stone. Athletic scholarships cost schools money, either directly or indirectly. There is no return on investment by schools adding field hockey or men's gymnastics to their sports menu. Most athletes participating in these two sports, as well as many other non-revenue sports, do not come from financial situations where an athletic scholarship is required or higher education is unavailable. There is nothing wrong with club sports, sports that can be coached by player-coaches. I don't believe that hockey players at Oregon receive athletic scholarships. Yet they're on the ice and having fun. There are all kinds of ideas that require the expenditure of OPM. In the case of more spending by athletic departments, the majority are bleeding red ink. Many of the states that support public schools are running deficits. Given a choice, should states provide money for additional sports for student-athletes or additional aid for financially disadvantaged students? I also note that most of the students at IMG Academy board at the school and are not on athletic scholarship. The tuition for boarding students is $93,900.00 a year. People who live in glass houses ...
