Top Oregon Ducks who could be featured on EA Sports College Football 27 cover It's fun to think about which Oregon Ducks could be on the cover in the future. When considering candidates, there is a tight needle to thread. You need to find someone who produces on the field and is also returning for another year in 2026. That whittles down the list quite a bit for the Ducks, but there are still some prime players who could very well be on the cover next year. Here's our best guess as to who could earn the honor: Top Oregon Ducks who could be featured on EA Sports College Football 27 cover DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks have a handful of players who could realistically make the cover of EA Sports College Football 27. EA Sports released photos of the two covers of the video game. The standard version of the game will have Smith and Williams as the cover athletes. The deluxe version will have Williams and Smith front-and-center, along with many figures key to college football, including Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman, Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin and former USC star and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.

This includes men’s and women’s basketball, football, volleyball, softball and baseball. To qualify for this list, the school must have been bowl eligible during the college football season. Big Ten Trojan Horse Lures SEC Toward Lame College Football Playoff Format The Big Ten’s preferred playoff model is a trojan horse for the SEC. And still, the SEC keeps inching toward the horse’s belly. If the Big Ten gets its way, the College Football Playoff would move in 2026 toward a format in which more bids are awarded via automatic selection. The idea works like this: In a 16-team field, the Big Ten and SEC would get four automatic bids apiece, the ACC and Big 12 would get two auto bids apiece, the Group of Five would get one auto bid, and that leaves three at-large bids up for grabs. In many years, Notre Dame would snag one of the three at-large bids. It’s easy to understand why the ACC and Big 12 dislike this model. It preassigns twice as many automatic bids to the Big Ten and SEC before the season even kicks off. It’s a model based more on conference brand prestige than in-season meritocracy. What’s more difficult to comprehend is the SEC's swelling support for this model. https://maaw.info/GadgetsandGames/APFinalFootballRankings.htm Fun game, pick any random year from 1950 on. It’s almost impossible to land on a year that doesn’t have a top-10 with at least 6 teams currently in the Big-2. More often than not you’ll find 7-8 such teams. If FSU, Miami, and ND were to move to the big-2 the ratio becomes ridiculous. -
Big Ten coach has high expectations for Oregon Football QB Dante Moore in 2025 In an interview with Athlon Sports Magazine, an anonymous Big Ten coach echoed that sentiment, having this to say about Moore and his early expectations in Eugene. “They’re pretty hyped on the quarterback [Dante Moore], who they’ve had in the system for a season already, which is a huge advantage," the coach said. "This isn’t modifying your book for a guy you get out of the portal; it’s a talented, developed player who already knows your system. I think that will show early on this season.” Big Ten coach has high expectations for Oregon Football QB Dante Moore in 2025 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore enters the 2025 season with high expectations, but he's getting early praise from an anonymous Big Ten coach.

All the talking heads keep saying: The Big Ten and SEC control everything – format and financials – beginning in 2026 for the CFP. Is that all "talk" or is there some contract language that makes it so? I guess they could say to the rest of college football, we are taking our ball on only going to play with the B1G and SEC, but that seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face. I know the NFL only has 32 teams, but having only 34 teams decide the NCAA championship isn't enough? -

Mike White still can't win the big one. What do we need to do to make T&F, indoor and out...and XC perennial national champions? I still can't believe we don't have a World Class indoor facility, capable of hosting world's. We did it with the outdoor WC, certainly the hotel and rental house capacity is there in EUG, outdoors requires 30k seating, indoors just 5k. Mr. Knight???

I was worried the early season losses would hurt, and they did, it's probably a team that is talented enough to be a top 8 bid, but you simply can't lose games against bad opponents. I was confused at the lack of good non-conference opponents, and it honestly would have been better to lose some series on the road or played in some tournaments down south against quality opponents than to win series at home where you win two games by 10 runs but you lose one by a run. Time to schedule UC Irvine, maybe one of the Arizona teams, San Diego, can't be playing random midwest and northeast teams if we want to host a super regional.

Moving to the B1G was a big boost for Ducks football but did the Diamond Ducks no favors. So many losses to B1G baseball teams probably qualify as bad losses which is one reason the RPI wasn't higher. I also heartily agree with Charles and others that a strong attempt needs to be made to schedule more quality teams in the OOC portion of the schedule. This may require some real expenditure of resources however. While a series with Portland State or other nearby schools cost little, a trip to Texas LSU, or aTm requires many Benjamins. I know nothing about college baseball scheduling, but perhaps some of the expense could be mitigated by home and homes over successive seasons. Of course, one potential problem with my idea is that baseball is a small revenue generator compared to football and basketball. But I am sure that there are many quality out of conference teams available in Socal, Arizona, Utah, and perhaps Washington to improve the OOC schedule.

Stewart Mandel over at the Athletic tried to pooh pooh the 8 automatic playoff berths in the 16 team playoff format. I laughed because frankly I see at least one of those conferences getting five playoff berths every year. I'd rather see moves to bolster the lessor two conferences by featuring more regular season games versus the P2 teams. Ratings would rise, some of that money could be a stipend for the G5 annually. And frankly, the G5 need to have their own playoffs. It's more than obvious they will never advance beyond their first game. Especially now that they can't afford the $20M budgets. -
"Oregon State had more Power-4 teams scheduled in the early season" It would be interesting to see their record at the end of the season based on opponent's RPI. They did drop to No. 8 which maybe is a clue, but in comparison to teams that got the 9, 10, 11 seeds how would Beavis compare? The "big wins" over Iowa turned out to be not so much. Iowa was leading the B1G entering the final week, and wasn't picked as an at-large.
