SEC 9 Game Schedules! Could a Big Ten/SEC Alliance Be Next?
If this does end up happening I'm gonna wonder how will the SEC handle future non-conference scheduling, but if our conference manages to get an alliance with the SEC I'm excited to see what teams could we force to come to Autzen during the first 3 weeks of the upcoming seasons.

Freshman Running Backs: Lanning is Already Calling Them "Thunder & Lightning?"
Whoa! We know that newbie Dierre Hill is fast, but he is up to 205 pounds. Isn't that thunder, instead of lightning? Then I saw the stats on freshman Jordan Davison, as he is 6'0" and 236 pounds? (Shades of Blount!) Lanning: "I'm starting to call them thunder and lightning. Man, like Jordan Davison and Dierre Hill are going to be special players here for a long time," he said. "I'm really excited about them and their development, and that whole RB room." Remember, as much fuss I've been making about Dierre Hill, we cannot overlook Jordan Davison as he was a Rivals 5-Star running back from Mater Dei. In the past...getting a 5-Star running back would have been ALL we would have been talking about in reference to recruiting. This year--he was almost an after-thought. And he was the Max-Preps POY for the state of California! Jordan Davison-Good gosh, what a Group! Whoa! Perhaps not Blount, but looks more like Jonathan Stewart?

FORGET Next Year: 2025 is Oregon’s Best Chance…
Great insight into OBD's status for this season and next. Just 2 things jump out for me in reaction to your well-considered study: Given the combination of inexperience and injuries, I think how well our offensive skill positions (RB and WR) perform are the biggest factor in the team's success this season. At all other position groups, the Ducks are looking solid. That number of likely starting player losses is daunting for sure. On the other hand, Lanning and his staff have continued to secure very highly rated signing classes. In my eye, the coaching staff has raised the bar on the team's performance with each successive class coming into their playing time. While there will be a lot of unfamiliar names moving into starting positions next season, I have faith that those dudes can play and that the Ducks will continue to roll.

We invite you to always explore the “News” on the menu bar in the header. When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment! During the football season, podcasts were included with the game for that week. Podcasts still are taking place, just not as often. I also have noticed that the podcasts now are covering more than just football. For instance, the one following includes some talk about basketball. Those podcasts will now be posted under this thread as they occur. To see the previous podcast thread click Here as we will keep the thread to no more than 50 podcasts at a time. Oregon Still Has Not Lost A B1G Conference Football Game
LOL. Oregon football enters the 2025-26 season as the defending B1G football champion. In fact, Oregon has never lost a B1G conference football game and has never finished lower than first place in the conference. I know that doesn’t make any difference heading into this season but no other B1G team (including the mighty Buckeyes or Wolverines) can say this and it’s hilarious that Oregon can make that claim after the B1G nearly passed on the University of Oregon during conference realignment in favor of the LA schools. Go Ducks. Defend that B1G football title!!! Back-to-back champions sounds nice.

FORGET Next Year: 2025 is Oregon’s Best Chance…
This year's schedule is pretty easy, although within reason you only need to be elite in December and January. Also, top tier teams always have one and done rosters because of the starting talent, depth and portal. It's the new normal. Almost nobody is good enough to start more than one season on these elite teams.

New (?) Metric for Playoff Committee to Use
Georgia's 'Dawn of the Dawg' is on board with the metric's use, mainly benefiting the SEC. Greg Sankey's propaganda and ESPN's broadcast money appear to be paying off. New (?) Metric for Playoff Committee to Use
Hopefully, this won't mean much if anything, on CFB PO judgement day, 12/7/25, but here's a preseason SOS ranking. FanSidedCollege football rankings by initial strength of scheduleWith the 2025 college football season kicking off this weekend with some Week 0 action, now is the perfect time to be reminded of this new wrinkle being inserte The CBB Tournament Committee updates its Quad team records and wins and losses based on which quad an opponent is ranked almost daily during the season. For the sake of every team outside of the SEC, the CFB PO Committee had best do the same. As of today, the FPI has 15 SEC teams ranked in its top 25, and the above ranking uses this FPI tripe. If the FPI is the metric the CFB PO committee plans on using, Tony Petitti had best have a Restraining Order at hand.

The First Time I've Questioned Justin Herbert's Judgment...
My apologies to all. This thread veered in a direction (my fault) that is away from the intent of this message board. I use this site to enjoy Oregon football, as an escape from some of the issues of real-life. Time to turn back to the intent of the forum--Oregon sports. I will lock this thread.

FishDuck writer David Marsh pointed out that Oregon did get 10 portal transfers last year. So if we did the same again...replacing the 16 starters may not be so bad between transfers, and new players emerging. Theran Johnson, Corner Transfer from Northwestern

FORGET Next Year: 2025 is Oregon’s Best Chance…
Thank you for the really early look ahead. As you admitted in the article, we don’t know how the talented younger players fit in to the playing rotation or how the players on the NFL fence will perform and be evaluated. Hopefully, some of the talented underclassman come on hard this year and make a significant impact or at least show flashes of their potential for next year. IMO, the biggest determining factor for 2026 will be how our QB develops this year and whether he returns in 2026. I’m assuming that whomever the QB is this year will have some growing pains (hopefully it doesn’t cost Oregon too dearly). However, if they improve steadily throughout the year and are one, if not the top QB, by the end of the season and they decide to return in 2026 to make a run at another national championship that could cause a lot of the players on the NFL fence to come back to Eugene, as well as attract some transfers and high school studs.

The First Time I've Questioned Justin Herbert's Judgment...
True . I haven't gone through that luckily, I do have buddies who have and they laugh at me when I say it's gonna be okay. I am an optimist at heart, probably naive at worst. I had an old guy tell me when I asked him advice about women and he told me that no man has the book on them. As I've gotten older I've found that to be true. How the heck did I get myself into this discussion? 😂 Oh yeah Herbert, Tebow and relationship talk. To get back on track though, Herbert has a lot of money in the bank. I hope he protects that wealth. I remember watching hard knocks several years ago and one of the things they had was a financial planner for the rookies. The average NFL career lasts less than three years, and most of those guys aren't making generational wealth on their first contract.

The First Time I've Questioned Justin Herbert's Judgment...
This is not about improvement or suggestions for personal growth from a woman; my point was....some women are not happy inside, and no matter what you do--it will not ever be enough to make her happy. I thought I was alone in this at one time, and since have seen hundreds of accounts written about a similar experience. Since you have not experienced a woman who could not be pleased, (as millions of men have had to deal with) then I'm glad that you have not had that, and had a fulfilling experience instead. I once believed as you did... No need to debate this, as we can have different opinions based upon our experiences.

FORGET Next Year: 2025 is Oregon’s Best Chance…
Thank you, Charles. A terrific look at the roster turnover being experienced in today's CFB. Roster management in the NFL is a piece of cake compared to what we see today in college. On paper, the 2025 schedule should help OBD's champ run cause. This schedule is the easiest from last season's schedule through the 2028 season. The top third of the schedule, the first four games, sees OBD with a significant roster advantage over the four opponents, further helped by three home games. A perfect segue into a Week 5 White Out. This season, OBD does not play a P4 out-of-conference opponent on the road; not the case, as currently scheduled, in 2026, at OK State, and 2027, at Baylor. Only two teams ranked in the preseason AP, Penn State and Indiana, are on this season's schedule, and OBD plays the Hoosiers at home. The off weeks are optimal and not the crazy eight games in a row against B1G competition that OBD faced in 2024. Hopefully, the roster gels before Week 5 at Penn State, followed by a bye week and then Indiana. Let's start with a W against Montana State!

The First Time I've Questioned Justin Herbert's Judgment...
Two trains of thought on that. First is you need to be secure and happy with who you are as a person. If you don't like you, it's near impossible to think others will. Second and more importantly to back up what I feel at least. Finding someone else that is genuinely interested in enriching your life is what makes you organically wanting to make them happier as well. Don't be a fake. Be honest with your loves and your distastes. Be open to feedback on your own behavior. I've found that there are legitimate things I can improve about myself. I think a human being who thinks they are already beyond compare is destined to find they are repugnant. Me, I'm someone who loves my alone time. I don't like huge crowds and some times I just need my space. I'm open and honest about that, but I do like having friends around sometime. I've found my personal space and sanity compromised at times, but then there are those moments I wouldn't trade for anything. Memories are with me that I'll carry for life. I don't regret a second of it, good or bad. Some of my best memories come from putting a smile on a depressed friends face, or surprising a significant other. I didn't do it to get something or make them think higher of me. I just liked seeing them smile. That was truly a lasting memory. Companionship can be found with a dog, cat, turtle, friend or maybe chat gpt. Maybe some never need that connection to something. I'm no counselor and it's none of my business, but we all walk this path and we all travel it a little differently.

I know I have written a title like you see above every fall for the last couple of years, but this year it is much more real, with a much more daunting future than I could have imagined.
