Quack! Quack! Dayton Raiola Commits to Oregon, Reunited With Brother in Eugene
This has to be basically a throw-in favor for Dylan Raiola. Dayton is listed at 6'1" and 205lbs, no way he plays TE.

This amount of talent acquisition in brand new. Oregon has had quality here and there, but not so much of it all at one time. 5 stars, borderline 5 stars, high 4 stars, and former 5 stars via the portal make this a stacked program. But even recently, much of the top line talent has come from the portal. I would like to see more recruits develop and turn into conference all this and all that kind of players.

Quack! Quack! Dayton Raiola Commits to Oregon, Reunited With Brother in Eugene
Oregon Adds Quarterback Recruit Dayton Raiola As Position Change LoomsThe Oregon Ducks have landed the signature of Buford High School recruit Dayton Raiola, who just so happens to be the brother of Oregon quarterback Dylan Raiola. On National Signing Day, three-star quarterback recruit Dayton Raiola has announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. Raiola is an uber-talented prospect from the state of Georgia who has been playing high school football with the Buford Wolves, which is one of the better programs in the state of Georgia and the nation when it comes to high school football. While the younger Raiola played quarterback in High School, he will likely switch positions to more of an H-back/tight end in college. Buford (Ga.) quarterback Dayton Raiola has found his college home. The former Nebraska commit, who helped lead Buford to a national championship, has committed to Oregon, joining head coach Dan Lanning and reuniting with his brother, Dylan Raiola, in Eugene. Raiola will make the transition from quarterback to tight end at the next level, a move he has fully embraced. “What I like about Oregon is that it’s a very high-level, elite program,” Raiola told Rivals. “Coming from a program like Buford, everyone is held to a certain standard. That’s where I excel best, and Oregon is very similar — just at the college level. There’s definitely a high standard there.” On3Dayton Raiola commits to Oregon, reunites with brother in...The Raiola family is very close. The brothers will reunite in Eugene. National Signing Day: See the Oregon Ducks 2026 Recruiting Class
I was thinking Oregon's defense having a Devon Jackson at LB and a Devin Jackson at S would be tricky for announcing, and they go and top that with two Anthony Joneses. I think former Duck Anthony Jones (now also a DL) still has one year left at UCLA. So, there apparently was a non-zero shot of having 3 Anthony Joneses on the Duck DL in the same season. Then I remembered USC recently added an assistant coach from TCU named Anthony Jones... and then it was just time to stop. 🙂

Oregon Coach Dan Lanning on Coordinator Promotions: 'We Don't Hand Them Out'
Oregon coach Dan Lanning outlined the decision behind promoting Drew Mehringer and Chris Hampton to offensive and defensive coordinator respectively. "Everybody wants an opportunity to advance, and we don't hand them out," Lanning explained on the school's February Signing Day Show. "It's the work that you see every day. I've seen coach Mehringer gameplan for four years here. I've seen coach Hampton and the impact he's made on our team in the last three years.

College Football Playoff Announces Quarterfinal, Semifinal Dates, Bowl Sites for 2026, 2027
Note also that the Orange Bowl is getting back-to-back semi-final games. Why? Because the Rose Bowl refuses to move off Jan. 1 as the date of the game. The six bowl games are in a rotation, except for semi-final games. That means, a team from the West will periodically have a semi-final game at the Fiesta Bowl but never at the Rose Bowl. Which means teams from the West will go East for a semi-final most years at Orange, Peach, Sugar, Cotton. That butters the bread for the Rose Bowl organization which prefers the parade and game the same day to draw maximum visitors, and avoid L.A. traffic problems, by being on Jan. 1; but, will cause West Coast fans to have to spend more bread to travel to other non-West venues. Perhaps the fairest "solution" would be to grant the Fiesta Bowl all semi-finals that would otherwise go to the Rose Bowl? It seems unfair for the Orange Bowl, Peach Bowl ...to receive more semi-finals at the expense of West Coast fans? Or, add Las Vegas automatically to replace the Rose Bowl in years when the Rose Bowl would have been the semi-final recipient? Those years would be known in advance and Las Vegas could plan around those years in terms of their other convention obligations.

College Football Playoff Announces Quarterfinal, Semifinal Dates, Bowl Sites for 2026, 2027
Guess who is miffed? Kiff, of course. But when it comes to the absurdity of the college football calendar, Kiffin is spot on. Along with another 135 FBS head coaches. Where do they find these guys? The figurehead who leads this mess, Rich Clark, notes that the weeks between PO games help with 'competitive balance.' That's rich, Mr. Clark. 🤪 Today's college administrators would sell their Grandmother, Mother, and maybe even their pet dog, for a few shekels more.
