And thanks to all the Beav fans. Some of them didn't like the crowds at PK, can't imagine why. Makes me think of that movie, from 1945 -

Thank you Charles for keeping track on Oregon Baseball and Softball. As someone who loves the Ducks though isn't a baseball or softball fan it's nice to get updates in a nice digestible manner. Additionally.... the Beavers had basically ONE thing over the Ducks in baseball and we just took that away from them!

Podcast Bussin' with the Boys: Marcus Mariota means a lot to the Ducks but Oregon might mean even more to him Heisman-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota still means a lot to the Oregon Ducks, but the program might mean even more to the hero QB. (Interview starts at the 1:06.46 mark) The Oregon Ducks' prodigal son, Heisman winner, and favorite quarterback. Marcus Mariota is beloved by the Oregon community and fanbase for what he did while playing for the Ducks, and continues to do for the program. From continuously coming to Eugene for game days to mentoring the Ducks' current quarterbacks, like Dillon Gabriel, there is nothing that Mariota can do wrong in the eyes of Oregon fans. Recently, Mariota shared just how much the Oregon community means to him. "It's surreal, man. I don't wanna get emotional, but it is," Mariota said of his time with the Ducks. "I came here when I was 17 years old, man... I was so homesick my first year, but they took me under their wing and, regardless of who it was... They really helped me transition into who I was." Who that young quarterback was was arguably the best college football player in the nation, much less the Pac-12

Holy Crap! Oregon Surges to No. 6, and Beavis Has to "Duck"
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Okay, Super Regional might not happen. But a regional? OBD just have to keep doin' what they're doin! The SWEEP of the Beavs had Oregon showing what they can do at bat, in the field & on the mound. Grinsell is becoming an Ace, Reitz, has had innings, in his last 2 starts that were pull-worthy, but Was, knows his pitchers. Reitz stayed in and did fine. As bad as yesterday was, 4 straight full count walks, but the only run the Beavs could get out of it was a forced run! -

We do have a chance to win the conference championship, but we gotta win a ton, and things need to fall our way. There are some B1G series this weekend that can help Our Beloved Ducks, as UCLA plays USC, and this is one time to actually root for the Trojans to win their series versus the Bruins. We also have a B1G series in Seattle, as Iowa travels to play the Bastard-Huskies, thus we have to hold our nose, and hope that Washington sticks two losses on the Hawkeyes. The remaining schedule has the Ducks play at Oregon State on Tuesday, three games at Michigan State this weekend, (with two midweek home games versus St. Marys next week) then at home for three against the Bastard-Huskies, and finish at Iowa for three games. (Schedule is right here) And of course...a sweep at Michigan State could help a TON, but it will not be easy. They are 23-19, and 9-12 in B1G play. They did win one off of Iowa, and of course--like when we played the damn Buckeyes at their home--their players will give us their very best effort. Let's Go Ducks! Incredible plays at 3rd base by Carter Garate this last weekend!

Ducks Just Took A Couple Big Recruiting Blows

Since Kodi Greene flipped, I have learned that his brother is on the UW roster and that he grew up in Seattle. I'm surprised he "committed" to OBD. -
OK...that big THUD you heard outside was Mr. FishDuck coming back to earth. Oregon is ranked No. 10 in the USA TODAY Baseball poll, and No. 12 in Baseball America. I have focused on D1Baseball, as most do, but we cannot ignore the other major polls. This means that if the Ducks win the majority of their remaining games, then they should be a shoo-in to host a NCAA Playoff Regional Series at PK Park. But they have a stretch to host a Super-Regional, and that would come only if Oregon won nearly all their games remaining. It is possible as they play at Oregon State on Tuesday, three games at Michigan State this weekend, (with two mid-week home games versus St. Marys next week) then at home for three against the Bastard-Huskies, and finish at Iowa for three games. Let's Go Ducks! Another Dom-Bomb coming!

Shocking News! Nothing Happened at the Gathering of the CFB PO Executive Committee. In all likelihood, we will see the same PO format in 2026. Here's what the PO field would look like using Andy Staples On3 updated post-spring rankings. College Football post-spring Top 25: Texas tops rankings, Clemson climbs & more moves - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Spring practices are finished across the country, and the transfer portal is closed. That means it’s time to reevaluate teams ahead of the 2025 season now that we have a better idea of their rosters... Why the update? Clicks = $$$. The UCLA-Tennessee QB trade was the news to date out of the Spring Portal, although Penn State adding a quality WR from Syracuse is noteworthy for OBD and B1G fans. Staples has nine SEC teams and seven B1G teams ranked. His projected PO would have four SEC teams and four B1G teams in the field. Staples has LSU at No. 15, ranked lower than the majority of preseason polls. OBD is scheduled to play road games versus No. 4 Penn State and No. 25 Iowa. The Ducks miss No. 5 Ohio State, No. 9 Illinois, No. 17 Michigan, and No. 22 Nebraska. The 'beauty' of mega conference scheduling, right? Indiana is not ranked. 1. Texas vs. No. 9 Georgia at No. 8 Alabama. 4. Texas Tech vs. NR G5 at No. 5 Notre Dame - 2nd-ranked ND can be seeded no higher than 5th. 2. Clemson vs. 10 Illinois at No. 7 OREGON. 3. Penn State vs. 11 Florida at No. 6 Ohio State. A rematch of Georgia/Bama and a 1st round matchup of Illinois at Oregon stinks. As does an all-SEC top line. But with two-thirds of the field including Power 2 teams, without a format change, this will happen. Of course, this is but one prospective PO field out of the ten-plus thousand we'll see before the ultimate revelation on Sunday, December 8, 2025. The news here is the expected no news. Last chance for the Execuutive Committee to suggest revision to the 2025-26 PO format and to adopt the 2026-27 and thereafter format, will be at the mid-June Executive Committee meeting. The broadcast agreement with ESPN requires that the new PO format must be approved on or before December 1, 2025.
