Oregon Releases Roster Splits for Saturday's Spring Game Between Combat Ducks and Fighting Ducks
This year's game is split between the Combat Ducks (black) and the Fighting Ducks (white) in recognition of the United States military. The teams have been split evenly, and the team will play as close to a real football game as possible, per head coach Dan Lanning. "Very similar to what it's been," Lanning said last weekend. "Running quarters like we've done, playing out two-minute situations, trying to create some of that on both sides of the ball, separating the teams into two different groups. There might be a point in the scrimmage where we pull a guy from one team to another to be able to accomplish everything we want to accomplish. But special teams, the whole nine yards, offense and defense, we'll go out there and play football." Below is a breakdown of how the team's have been split by position. Specialists are set to play for both teams. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/oregon-releases-roster-splits-for-saturdays-spring-game-between-combat-ducks-and-fighting-ducks-283041970/

2027 Recruitment, Announcements, Interviews, Etc. (4)
Two Blue-Chip Recruits Who Could Commit To Oregon After Quarterback Will MenclTwo Oregon Ducks recruiting targets who could commit following five-star quarterback recruit Will Mencl's commitment. In the 2027 recruiting class, the Oregon Ducks have already landed nine commitments ahead of official visits, with one of the players being five-star quarterback Will Mencl. Mencl is by far one of the better players in the nation, regardless of the position. He is also someone who could attract more talent to the Oregon program due to being one of the best players at arguably the toughest position on the field. He will have the chance to be the captain of this ship, and if that is the case, there could be more prospects jumping aboard. Even with a new coordinator, the Ducks are looking to ‘install the Oregon offense’Just as defenses adapt to keep up with offensive trends, playcallers on the other side of the ball must also evolve to stay one step ahead. Oregon's new offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer is well aware of this fact, but — along with the Ducks' entire coaching staff — understands the importance of continuity. "It really started from the beginning since we've been here, we wanted to install the Oregon offense," Lanning said. "Even going back when Kenny [Dillingham] was here, we developed a system. Coach Mehringer has been here for the entire thing, and then we wanted to add wrinkles, adjust, adapt, and build." That consistency is why Lanning has been so keen to promote internally when positions open on his staff. He is proud of his ability to develop coaches — having sent coordinators Will Stein and Tosh Lupoi to head coaching positions this offseason — and knows the benefit that it provides his players. Because Mehringer has been in-house, this is just a continuation of the system already in place on the offensive side of the ball. "Our system has a lot of answers. It has a lot of tools," Lanning said. "This offseason, we're going to add new things that we haven't done in the past, and build off that, and build to our players' skill sets." https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/even-with-a-new-coordinator-the-ducks-are-looking-to-install-the-oregon-offense-283038231/

Oregon Baseball vs. Penn State on B1G+...NOW
Normally Oregon is facing pitchers with ERAs close to ours or even better from the opposing starters. But this weekend is the biggest spread yet this season...by a mile. For example we open up tonight with Will Sanford, who sports a 3.24 ERA and he goes up against a Nittany Lion in Colin Fitzgerald who has a 6.98 ERA. The starters on Saturday and Sunday have even worse ERAs, so on paper--Oregon has a decided advantage. But we know how that goes, as it all depends upon the day. If our guy has an off-day, and their pitcher is on fire that day...ERAs mean nothing. Looking at the pitching roster...it gets worse quickly for Penn State, with the best relievers a touch below 5.00 at best, with much higher numbers the norm. In terms of hitting...Penn State has four players hitting over .300 while the Ducks have five with another quite close. The 'Lions can keep it close with good pitching, but the potential is there for the some run-rule games too. They are 12-26, with only five wins in Big-10 play. (Oregon is 29-11) Their most notable wins are taking one game out of a three-game series from Iowa, Purdue, Illinois, Ohio State and Rutgers. They did lose two close games to Nebraska, so the potential to mess us up is there. PSU is only 3-14 on the road, and it is projected to be sunny and warm this weekend, which is perfect for our home-run hitters. This should be the easiest series left, but you know Baseball! Get it done, Ducks! Lots of Homer-Huddles, Please!

Sports Illustrated breaks down the 1st round. The Big 10 had ten players picked, the SEC seven, eight fewer than selected in the 2025 first round. The ACC, with 8 picks, if you add on Notre Dame's two picks, and the B12 with six players chosen, showed up. As the article notes, the B1G and the SEC did not dominate the 1st round as they have in recent drafts. Day 2 - 7 PM/ 4 PM - ABC, ESPN Experts, right? QUAAAACCK! Top 100 Safety Semaj Stanford Commits to Oregon Ducks
Lists at 5-11 and 180, about the same size as Jadon Canady (5-11 and 185)? Some similarities between Stanford's recruiting profile and Canady's draft profile. Nickel CB? Stanford: • Plays physical with wiry strength above listed size • Displays sudden acceleration in a variety of situations, pairing that with high-level awareness and anticipatory skill • Also shows quick-twitch redirection, whether running routes or breaking on throws • Boasts strong track numbers in the 60, 100, and 200 meter sprints: 10.71/22.06 Canady: • Twitch for short-area corrections to smother routes, sticky man coverage corner • Speed to deter throws over the top, speed in his backpedal and half-turn... quick to trigger and close on routes breaking in front, closing burst • Falls below most traditional size thresholds... Canady makes up for those shortcomings with his twitch, which allows him to stay sticky • All-State performer in track and field. He finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at the 3A state track meet in the 300-meter hurdles in 2019

Gotta hand it to Bucknut, 4 picks in the first 11 taken. Makes Indiana's 2026 championship all the more impressive. And a grudging nod to Mariø for what Miami did to them in the quarters. Sadiq just came off the board at #16. Unfortunately it was to the Jets.

Prepare for a B1G NFL Draft
Pre-Draft laughs. Caleb Downs was an All-SEC as a freshman playing safety for Nick Saban at Alabama. He transferred to Ohio State for the balance of his college career. Sitting next to Nick during the pre-game draft show on ESPN was Ohio State coach Ryan Day. Herbie asked Day how prepared Downs was when he transferred to Ohio State. Day: He had talent, but he was a mess; it was like he'd never been coached up. We had to start all over. Then, with a B1G smile on his face, Day leaned over and gave Nick a faux shoulder punch. I Love This Game! 🤪
