  2. Congress stepping in to help CFB and college athletics will likely require a collective bargaining agreement. Athletes are being paid directly by their school, but are not employees? Could collective bargaining be the answer for college sports? Some ADs are ready to say the quiet part out loud SPORTS.YAHOO.COM College sports is in need of a collective-bargaining solution — to avoid future litigation, create a more stable environment and because the House settlement doesn’t go far enough, according...
  3. Bryson Beaver explains Oregon commitment, new 'Platypus' nickname The 6-foot-3, 200-pound signal-caller is one of the highest-risers at any position in the country thanks to his performances at the Elite 11 Regionals and Finals. On this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec," on ESPN-affiliate 1080 The Fan, Beaver joined the show to discuss his sudden rise up the rankings, how he decided to go to Oregon and how he has suddenly earned the tongue-in-cheek nickname "Platypus" from the Oregon coaching staff. 7. Meet Bryan Seeley, the man in charge of policing the new world of college sports The revenue share era of college sports has arrived. Paychecks from schools will start to land in players' bank accounts this week. The endorsement deals that the CSC will need to vet are already pouring in. As he attempts to run an organization responsible for bringing order to a chaotic industry, Seeley has a long to-do list: hire a staff, establish investigative processes, determine fair punishment standards and build relationships across hundreds of schools and dozens of sports. Seeley finished the previous week by returning his office equipment to Major League Baseball after a decade of rebuilding and overseeing their league investigations department, which handled high-profile issues such as gambling, sexual misconduct and sign-stealing scandals on his watch. At his new job he's back to square one, which means his top priority last Monday was scrolling through Wirecutter, a product recommendation website, for advice on buying a new laptop. "This is a startup," Seeley told ESPN during an interview at the end of his first day. "It's not like I'm walking into nothing, but in many ways this is a true start-up." Meet Bryan Seeley, the man in charge of policing the new world of college sports - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Overseeing athlete payments in college sports may seem like a thankless, nearly impossible job. But Bryan Seeley thinks he's up to the task.
  8. Rece, Lou, and Mark. Best postgame show ever. No Gophers on the list. Be aware and beware of this Friday night trap game, the Friday after playing the previous Saturday in Iowa City, and with the Gophers coming off of a bye.
  9. Good advice Kemosabe to not look past Minnesota. How. My aging eyes cannot see past the 10k lakes anyway. You give sage advice. But oh - those Golden Gophers.

  15. 2027: The last Iowa visit to Autzen was in 1994, and the game drew about 29,000. Later that season attendance heated up as the Ducks put themselves into position for the Rose Bowl. But, early home games that season: 25,358 - Utah 29,287 - Iowa 30,678 - Cal In 1989, the Ducks visited Iowa: 67,700. In 2025 the Ducks head to Iowa City again where they averaged 69,250 last season.
  16. Oregon advices Duck fans to wear Green, wear Yellow or wear Black. Montana State game will be a “Stripe Out" Wisconsin game (TBD). This game possibly reserved for the “Stomp Out Cancer Event” Indiana game wear “Yellow" All travel games and OSU wear “Green" USC along with Oregon State will be a "Black Out" Fond memories of the Fright Night black out, Oct. 31, 2009 game against USC:
  17. College Football News 2025 Preseason Review of OBD - https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/oregon-football-preview-2025-ducks-season-prediction-win-total-projection-top-players DEFENSE! https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/oregon-defense-preview-2025-ducks-among-college-football-best OFFENSE! https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/oregon-offense-preview-2025-reload-mode-ducks-will-be-fine I think the predicted record at 10-2 is a pretty good call and would see OBD back in the playoffs.
  18. As David Marsh noted, not likely in 2025 unless SC is contending for a spot in the B1G champ game. 2026 sees Michigan and Nebraska in Autzen. Nebraska fans travel. Either visitor could break the record. Conference game dates are not set. 2027 sees both Penn State and Ohio State in Autzen. Conference game dates are not set. Ohio State or Penn State could break the record, which could then be broken in the same season by the other visitor. Iowa will also visit in 2027. Only six home games in 2027, but the season ticket sales record and the secondary market ticket price record could both be broken.
  19. The Civil Suit against Retzlaff has been dropped. But the 7-game Honor Code violation still stands as he admitted to having consensual sex outside of marriage. How did QB Jim McMahon get out of Provo without a suspension? Jake Retzlaff sexual assault case dropped: What's next for BYU star QB still facing honor code violation? - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Could Retzlaff become a late addition to the transfer market?
  20. Oregon has landed a nice commitment out of the state of Hawaii on Monday morning. The Oregon Ducks have gone to the state of Hawaii and have flipped a commitment from the California Golden Bears' 2026 recruiting class. Offensive lineman Koloi Keli has decided and announced on social media that he will be playing for the Ducks over the Bears. Keli was offered by Oregon back in May but committed to the Bears a few weeks later. The Ducks never gave up and it's now paid off in a big way. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/oregon-flips-california-commit-and-three-star-iol-koloi-keli-to-the-ducks-class-251381225/
  21. The game against the Buckeyes last season was big and a B1G game. A game against the Beavs isn't either of those. The game against the Trojans is B1G, but Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota are more compelling B1G games.
  22. 4-star Oregon Ducks target Jalen Lott makes recruiting announcement DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM 4-star wide receiver Jalen Lott, a major Oregon Ducks target, has made an announcement in his recruiting timeline.
  23. HMMMMMMMMM? BYU's former QB, Jake Retzlaff, has denied all claims of misconduct alleged against him in civil court. Nevertheless, under the BYU Honor Code, Retzleff was to be suspended for seven games in 2025, before the matter comes to trial. There is no portal to enter before December 2025, but I expect BYU will grant him a release, and he will then transfer and enroll at another school. Heading into summer practice, there are schools with questions at QB. I don't think Jake will have a problem finding a new place to play. BYU was ranked 15th in The Sporting News composite top 25 and is one of the favorites to win the B12. Anyone who bet the Over 8.5 wins at +125 should consider an equal wager on the Under to balance the bet. BYU was on a roll recruiting and otherwise. This slows all of the Cougars' momentum. There is no one on the roster with the talent of Retzlaff.
  24. I’d say odds are slim. Looking at the schedules: - USC could have 4+ losses and a coaching change by November - OSU could happen if they were unbeaten or 2-1, but look impressive against Cal and @Texas Tech. More likely they’ll be 1-2 at best though.
  25. Theoretically... Yes... In reality... No. If the Beavers were better then maybe the prospect of the last civil war could draw more of a crowd. But that rivalry feels more dead than alive. Is the Civil War Rivalry Dead? | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM A rivalry is a special thing in any sport. They are a mixture of love and hate: love for one’s team and loathing for the... Washington is an away game. USC is a maybe if both teams are undefeated but and it's a big BUT that game is at almost the end of the season and the likelihood of USC being undefeated by that point is highly unlikely.
  26. Hmmmm…the attendance record games usually have something more compelling involved than we won’t be scheduled to play for an extended period of time. The only interesting thing would be how long our backup QB gets to play in the 2nd half, and will he be able to beat the spread.
