I honestly feel worse about the basketball team's loss to Arizona in the Round of 32, than I do the Rose Bowl against osu2. The Buckeyes, for reasons we all see now, won the Natty, they were a great team. Arizona lost in the next round. The Rose Bowl was over after 5 minutes. In the game against Arizona, the Ducks had a 15 point lead before the 1st half was half over, by halftime Arizona was ahead. Choking is usually reserved for a singular moment, at the end of the game. But the basketball team, "Choked" at the free throw line, for the entire game. They thought they had it won when they got the big lead. But Arizona was not nervous at all, they knew Oregon was SOFT. and they just went out and took over the game.

The Erickson Beaver team was a mirage, along with Leaf's Cougs team that went to a Rose Bowl. Love baseball, but that's the only sport that either of the Pig2 could really compete in consistently. Beaver Nation gets kudos for supporting their team. through the good, but mostly bad, seasons, year round. Both schools suffered from delusions of grandeur, worse that Washington. They should have joined, Idaho, Idaho State, EWU, and the others, in the Big Sky Conference, long ago.

The House Settlement Hearings Begin On Monday, April 7, 2025

Do I Love LA? How About, No! But I Get Why Riley in LA is Asked About the House Settlement. He has no idea of the effect the settlement will have on CFB and other college sports. Neither does his AD and the President of USC. Like typical CFB lemmings, they are allowing the NCAA to settle a matter that settles NOTHING! Stupid Is as the NCAA Does. The 'brilliant' folks in charge of our nation's largest universities haven't figured this out? Lincoln Riley previews House v. Everything they accuse us of, they have done… They say, ”we sued the Pac 12 for survival!” My response is, “yes, and Oregon left the Pac 12 for ultimate survival, as being in one of the super two conferences is crucial in today’s environment.” They say, “Oregon destroyed the Pac 12!” In my response is, “Oregon State has destroyed the Mountain West… How are you any different?” Answer? They are the same, only on a much smaller scale! Jabba is right…the PIG2 are settling into their true niche, not the falsely elevated and overpaid position they had in the original PAC-12.

Lupoi on Losing the Rose Bowl: A Miscalculation in Preparation?
Lrod replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I honestly havent gotten over this game. It still feels like yesterday. -
Thank you, Charles and DanL. No two schools deserve to be hoisted on their smelly petards than the Left Behind Pac-2. 'You Ducks destroyed a conference!" OSU and WSU didn't do this to the MW? 'You Ducks are not honorable.' Did Oregon sign a deal for game inventory it is trying to weasel out of less than a year after signing? 'Travel will have you begging to return in a couple of years.' But it's perfectly okay to invite a school from Memphis, New Orleans, and wherever Texas State resides in Texas to the party, right? Washington State football. Since playing well in 2024, the Head Coach, O Coordinator, and star QB have Couged It out of town. Oregon State football. Paying $1.5 M to a QB, Malik Murphy, who was going to lose his starting spot at Duke to a transfer from Tulane. Murphy has now taken his act from the SEC, Texas, to the ACC, Duke, to the Pac-Whatever, plus Gonzo. Regarding the new media deal, it's a good thing the Pac-Whatever hired, 'Trust Me, It's All Good' George Kliavkoff as a consultant. Thanks for creating the 6th member of the G6 and have a really nice day.

Great find! I’ve been saying all along that there is nothing to suggest the PIG2 won’t ultimately find themselves in nearly the same place if they rebuild the PAC into a top G6 conference. A bit of a paradox, if they’re adding teams with large recruiting advantages and better geography than the PIG2 have, they’ll slip to at best middle of the conference. If they’re adding teams they can have sustained success against it won’t be a top G6. Enjoy the bean counting wars piggies, you peaked a year ago.

NFL Draft: How High Is Josh Conerly Jr.’s Ceiling?

I am pulling for that to happen, and if not--the suggestion of the Chargers or the Broncos would be good too! Or the Lions? Sewell on the right side, and Conerly on the left? -

My fellow Duck-Buddies of both genders...above is a "money" article, where an entity in Europe wrote the article and inserted a link for a gambling site. For all the work I do to "improve" the article--I get paid a fee that I use to pay the bills of both FishDuck sites. I find the article interesting because it exemplifies how hard it is to write for the FishDuck audience. That article was written for the general public, and by someone who does not really know CFB, but relied on AI and their own homework to create an article that is adequate for the web, but not for our specific audience. Is there anything in the article that is new, that a savvy Duck fan here would NOT know? Nope. I usually do not accept guest articles for this reason, but they offered a hefty fee and I have site bills to pay--so I accepted it and had to do a boatload of work on it. Even then, it is NOT up to FishDuck standards compared to writers such as Jon Joseph, Alex Heining, David Marsh, Darren Perkins, Jordan Ingram...and of course--yours-truly. It is really hard to add something in an article that this sophisticated Oregon audience does not already know, or discussed already. I know the writers are often pinched for "what to write about" because it is not just the topic, but how can we add value to the reader? We try very hard, and the article above shows us all that FishDuck writers generally succeed in providing new information, or a new angle to consider in a topic. Tough work for these writers, and done...for FREE! When I see a FishDuck Writer...

Portland Pilots Edge Oregon 7-6
Washington Waddler replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
For the past three games, “best shots” is correct. Except for the USC series, the team has not faced opponents who have ‘a little something else’ at stake when they face us. The Buckeyes - no matter the sport - want to put us in ‘our place’, while Portland was the first experience this season playing an in-house opponent with upset intentions - like the softball loss to the Beavers. As Wasikowski said, we made mistakes against the Pilots, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort, it was a lack of execution. While it’s no excuse, I try to bear in mind that of our 18 member pitching staff, 8 are freshmen. Mark is not soft pedaling, but neither is he hammering. I agree with his damage control approach of putting this behind us, and getting back to the practice field. At this moment, it’s just time for encouragement. -
