Oregon's Final Portal Transfer Targets to Watch For...
Dr Hilarius replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
He was pegged to be a starter this year. As you said, hopefully, Roberts knows something we don’t about a nose tackle transfer. -
I haven't seen a single mention of ducks getting signed as UDFA. Every year we have about five. We're there really none this year?

Oregon's Final Portal Transfer Targets to Watch For...
EastBayDuckDad replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
A bit of a surprise that Ben Roberts hit the transfer portal. I thought he had a pretty good Spring game. It makes one wonder if there isn't a defensive lineman nose tackle coming in the portal, hopefully Harmon. - Yesterday

Wow Jon, thanks for posting that. Those issues, in particular, rematches, pretty much assure that the field has to grow to 16. Do you favor more in the playoff? I do, to 16... No rematches; I've seen enough of Beavis...

Wasn't it McShay that said before being drafted, that Justin Herbert would get a head coach fired? He has a lot of opinions, just no knowledge to back them up. -

Yep, and unfortunately, Ohio State is not out of the picture. But it comes down to the total package, and Oregon may not have enough NIL budget to afford Harmon. After what I saw of the defensive line in the Spring Game, I am sweating it a lot less. We have some very talented young guns at defensive/nose tackle at Oregon. It is "good-or-good" to me as to whether we sign Harmon. I do not want to scare away great young talent either....

College Football - Is Another B1G (and SEC) Change on the Way?
Solar replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We may want cannon fodder, but with this level of upheaval coming who's in and who's out won't be dictated based on "because they were there first." Not to say that some of the valuable markets don't have cannon fodder teams. Once the have a target conference size then everything gets re-evaluated. One time relegation exercise based on historical prestige, market size and a dash of "what have you done lately." Lastly to all. I don't think fans in the stands will be a big deal going forward in determining market size. With a 40ish team league it begins to be about national viewership/brand cache as pretty much any game will be viewed coast to coast. -

Comparing the Ceiling of Our Offense: Bo Nix vs. Dillon Gabriel
Drake replied to Solar's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think Bo was very astute at reading defenses, and changed calls at the line of scrimmage often with great success. You can’t undersell that aspect of the game. I am not familiar with Dillon’s body of work. He has been a winner wherever he goes, and I expect that he will manage games quite well for our Ducks I don’t know enough to talk about ceilings, or floors, for players. I do know that Bo resurrected a career that was in turmoil at Oregon. He battled back and ended up the #12 pick in the draft. Overcoming adversity is what the QB position is all about. You are a hero, or a scapegoat. I hope that he thrives at his new job. -
