What is everyone's plans that are making the trip down to the Rose Bowl? Would love to hear what this great Fishduck community is doing at one of the best venues in College football. For me I am enjoying some time out in Palm Springs and then will be making the drive out to Pasadena the morning of to enjoy some tailgating on the golf course. IMHO it is one of the best tailgating experiences. Also - last Rose Bowl I went to in 2020 we waited until almost kickoff and it took close to an hour to get into the stadium. Hopefully it is better this year but plan accordingly!

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
QuackyQuack replied to mikethehiker's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
There have been plenty of blowouts during the 4 team playoff format and those were not home games on campus. What this showed is home field really matters. Glad we have the 12 team format! -
Zero regrets. What an amazing season for those kids and the entire University. They will be talking about this season for years to come.

QUAAAAACK! Transfer DL Bear Alexander Commits to Oregon!

That is the complete opposite of what NIL is... But in Dan we trust with who he wants to bring into his program! Not sure how I feel about Bear's Georgia tattoo... -
Oregon QB Recruiting Strategy: ALWAYS Go Portal?
QuackyQuack replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
A lot of really good points here and excellent dialogue. Here's my take: I truly believe Dante is going to be THE DUDE next year. He has sat back and learned a ton over the last two years. At UCLA he gained valuable game experience that showed him he has the tools, but also that there is still much to learn. This year he took a year to be a true student of the game. He shadowed DG as closely as he possibly could and learned what it takes to be a true professional. One factor that hasn't been highlighted enough is the intensity of Oregon's practices. Every player who's been under DL’s coaching has mentioned how tough the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday practices are, and how they make Saturdays feel like a breeze. Dante has been going head-to-head in practice with one of the top defenses in the country day in and day out. That alone is invaluable experience. A few people have mentioned you can't risk having an unexperienced QB in there with the chance of losing a game, but that is the furthest from the truth. Who cares if the Ducks drop a game or potentially even two games during the season? This is no longer a time where a single loss will derail your season. It is ok to drop a game as long as you learn from it. With the current playoff format the Ducks would be in their 3rd consecutive year making the playoffs, even with those losses. -
Too much drama. Wish him the best at UF.

QUAAAAACK! Transfer OT Isaiah World Commits to Oregon!
QuackyQuack replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Big haul indeed! A combined weight of 879 pounds between the three of them. -
The funding for most collectives is not public information. Even though I do not believe we are dropping bags on anyone and everyone, I can guarantee we are not out of the top 10. And even if we are #1 and paying the most out of everyone else... who cares? It is legal now. Look at Texas A&M a couple years ago. They overpaid for every single 5 star they could get their hands on. How did that turn out for them? You still need to be able to coach these players up and get them to be a real team. That is what Oregon is this year.

Did Georgia Get in the Playoffs on a Technicality?
QuackyQuack replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Bingo. Different year, different playoff rules. They had an automatic bid. Even if their entire team was injured they would have still got in. -

Will The Playoff 3rd Round Be Played in Dallas? Against Texas?
QuackyQuack replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Truthfully I would prefer Oregon fans to have to travel a little bit further for the game compared to playing in Texas' backyard. But this will all be irrelevant because the Longhorns are extremely overrated and will have a tough time beating Clemson and ASU. -
Stewart Mandel: "No Question, Oregon's Route is Brutal"
QuackyQuack replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Personally I like the 12 team. But what I do not like is the conference champions get automatic byes. It should be more like march madness where conference champions get guaranteed entry into the field, but seeding is still decided by rankings. Top 4 overall ranked teams get a bye in the first round. Also - after really looking at the brackets I don't think the Ducks got as screwed as everyone is making it out to be. Sure osu2 and Tenn are big brands they aren't really playing great football right now. And when I look at the whole bracket Texas is by far the most overrated and overhyped team in the Country. Who have they played and beat that is actually a good football team? They have played a down Georgia team twice and lost both times. Just because they are ranked high doesn't mean they are an actual good football team. -
Will The Playoff 3rd Round Be Played in Dallas? Against Texas?
QuackyQuack replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great question - I have been trying to look into this as well and there is not a lot of concrete details. I did find this on the CFP official website "The highest seed will receive preferential placement for the Playoff Semifinal bowl assignment." So how I read that is the Ducks would be able to choose the location of their game. If it was against Texas I feel they would choose the Orange Bowl due to trying to make it more of a neutral site game. Rumors were Evan Stewart had the flu bad and barely made the trip. Also rumored that multiple defenders were down pretty bad with the flu. Makes you feel a whole lot better about the game.

What's the Future for Dante Moore at Oregon?
QuackyQuack replied to Notalot's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Dante has impressed me this season. Not what he has done on the field, but what he has shown on the sideline. As fans, I think we're all a bit cautious about the 5-star hype, especially after the disappointment of Ty Thompson. While Moore clearly has the talent to be a great quarterback (he’s a 5-star with a massive arm), next season will reveal whether he's taken this year seriously and has truly absorbed the lessons from sitting behind DG. Here’s why I’m confident he will succeed: 1. He learned from the best - Whenever you see him on the sideline or in any of Oregon's marketing videos, Dante is always closely observing DG. He’s had a front-row seat to learn from one of the best in college football, from film study to leadership. Few quarterbacks have had a better mentor at the college level. 2. He has Will Stein coaching him up and developing him. WS has shown the last 2 seasons he sets his quarterbacks up for success with play calls. Hopefully Stein is still the OC next year. 3. As someone mentioned above the schedule looks favorable next year. He isn't going to be thrown into the fire (like he was at UCLA) 4. Supporting cast - this is what the Oregon offense is built on. A QB does not need to come in and light it up and make magic happen. This offense is setup to dink and dunk all the way down the field and get the ball in your playmakers hands. He doesn't need to be a hero to be successful. Just a really good game manager. -
Here are the Heisman finalists who are invited to NYC: Dillon Gabriel Travis Hunter Ashton Jeanty Cam Ward If anyone is feeling really confident in DG winning the Heisman his odds currently sit at +30,000. Looks like Travis Hunter is going to run away with it. (Snaps aren't a stat)
