  1. Will Stein needs to figure out these slow starts. I don’t know if it’s bad planning or lack of motivation but playing from behind from the get go makes things so much harder to win.
  2. Better effort by the D. Let’s go offense!
  3. Defense looking unprepared that first series. Lupoi better make some adjustments fast.
  4. He certainly has the foot speed to cause opposing defenses all sorts of problems!
  5. The key will be DL and WS getting better at their jobs over the next few years, of which I have no doubt. As they get more seasoned and more experienced, the on field results will naturally improve in visible (and non-visible) ways. OBD has as much potential to win it all as any other CFP contending team IMHO.
  6. The B10 is a much bigger pond than the now defunct Pac12. That being said these rankings do feel a bit subjective. But at the end of the day the proof will be in the pudding (or more aptly, on the field). I like Oregon's potential for the biggest splash of the 4 incoming West coast teams next season.
  7. That kid's at 240 lbs but doesn't have the lead feet that Noah Sewell had, pretty impressive.
  8. https://highschool.si.com/recruiting/2023/12/21/prediction-oregon-ducks-set-to-add-all-american-defender-thursday Latest prediction for Jericho Johnson is to Oregon!
  9. I get a 404 error when trying to read the article. Is the URL correct?
  10. Signing Day 2023: USC's 'mind-blowing' approach to recruiting casts doubt on Trojans' readiness for Big Ten 247SPORTS.COM Industry leaders have bold takes on the Trojans' recruiting class.
  11. I actually don't think he would take the Alabama job in theory, IMHO he just doesn't have enough of an attachment to that place other than respecting Nick Saban and learning from him. Georgia on the other hand, that's where he experienced his first real success as a direct contributor. If Kirby left and Georgia came calling, it would be a 50/50 shot on whether he stays or goes...in that scenario I think it would come down to what his wife and kids would say. If they're settled in and comfortable in Eugene then that would be the tipping point for DL to continue putting down roots in Oregon.
  12. LOL the hubris of usuc fans is really amazing. As if USC, a rich private school, isn't swimming in booster and NIL money? I also bet that before NSD he was one of them singing praises about Pellum's potential as a receiver for them...now he's downplaying those same skills as 2nd rate. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....
  13. I read somewhere that's it's essentially down to Colorado and Maryland.
  14. WS has a lot going for him. He's a highly intelligent, highly creative offensive mind who was a former college QB. Which means he can talk to HS QBs at a level they can relate to. Add to that Oregon's football program success and vast resources and you have a shark in the recruiting waters!
  15. Love the jab to Lincoln Riley’s eye!
  16. I hope we hear some good news about Walter Nolan soon!
  17. OBD can certainly make that argument with confidence, that's for sure. Getting a backup with a decent amount of game experience like Moore is paramount for next season with that 8 game gauntlet in the middle of the schedule. With no break in the middle of that I wouldn't be surprised if the injuries pile up during that span.
  18. One has to wonder if Lincoln Riley is another Mark Helfrich. An offensive wonderkind but lacks the skills to truly build a football program...
  19. UCLA's OL was very subpar (I'm being nice, they were terrible), so he didn't really get much pass protection. Under the same circumstances behind Oregon's OL his numbers would be visibly better. That's surprising to me as well. I would have thought he'd have developed at least some scrambling skills after starting all 4 years in high school.
  20. I maintain that OSU would be his best landing spot. He can compete for QB1 and have real field time against MWC teams, which would build a good enough resume to get back to a P4 team in the subsequent season.
  21. 100% agree with this. Gabriel is a dual threat QB, let him BE a dual threat QB. I understood why DL and WS limited Bo's running so much this past season but I think they pulled it back way too much, to the point that it caused problems with the offense at certain points. When the offense was clearly struggling against Texas Tech early on, Bo began running the ball himself on a handful of plays and the offense got going again since the TT defense then had to take him into account. If he did that against UW, I would have bet money that the offense would have been more consistent.
  22. Therein lies the problem, a good QB rarely wants to ride the pine for long.
