Very cool analysis, thanks Coach Boles! I really dig plays like this, essentially a headfake to the opposite side then the WR takes the ball and follows a bunch of blockers for a 7 yard game. Simple, effective, and 7 yards gets you into great position for that 1st if you haven't gotten it already. Love it.

Definitely not a dumb thought. As noted by others on the forum, a head coach needs to make sure the offense and defense need to be designed to work in harmony. Riley could give a rip about the later, which is why we're seeing the kind of defensive effort that is being put on the field by his team.

It certainly seems like the defense has really pinned their ears back and increased their on field effort. But I feel like perhaps they've changed how they prepare for the next opponent? More than anything the anticipation by the defensive players seems to be really spot on the last few games.

Dont`e Thornton must be kicking himself right now. He got impatient, didn't want to be WR2 this season and moved to Tennessee where he's getting a measly 2 receptions a game (if he's lucky). If he had stayed here he would've had more receptions than last season and presumably move into the WR1 slot next season when Franklin goes to the NFL. Sucks to be him right now.

Seems like the B10 programs in the state of Michigan are turning into dumpster fires.

I think what we're seeing is something many of us surmised before the season began. In the face of having a brand new OC, new OL coach, and replacing 4 out of 5 OL starters it was going to take until mid-season before everything truly settled in and everyone was fully comfortable in the offense. We're in the middle of that transformation right now and it's a beautiful thing to see. Thanks for the article David!

He's not unless a miracle happens with the new DC hire, even then it takes time to reform an entire defense with the magnitude it needs to change right now.

I stopped watching the game at halftime. I was surprised at the final score though, Colorado getting back to within a TD.
