  1. Dillon Brooks told the duck players to leave no cards on the table and they didn't. They gave and gave until there was nothing left in the tank. Creighton didn't really win, Oregon just ran out of gas. Until that point they were winning and if Cousinard's shot had gone in at the end of regulation, they would have won. It has been so discouraging to see all the injuries the last three years but in the end they overcame all that. Altman is an incredible coach. He can recruit, develop and coach players. He is a proven commodity. Hopefully next year he can find some good transfers or freshman to start again. He has the beginnings of a good team with Shelstad, Tracy, Biddle, Cook, Rigsby and hopefully Evans, who is not ready for the NBA. Of course he wants to explore his options but I hope he returns. Batholomy may be able to return, I hope he does. Overall I look forward to another great year from Altman.
  2. No one on this team blew it in any way. They were just worn out and when that happens you can't make your shots or make quick responses. I agree about the refs though. It seems strange that the ducks had so few free throws although there were very few fouls in the game.
  3. I am so proud of this team. There was no more gas in the tank. They played such a wonderful game, Their defense was spectacular. If only Cousinard could have gotten the shot at the end of regulation but playing in OT was just a bridge too far. They have so much heart. I will truly miss and treasure this team. They are very special. There are a million what ifs. What if Biddle could have come back, what if Batholomy hadn't got hurt but they don't matter and can't take away from this team's effort. Loved the journey, hated the end.
  4. I have no doubt at all that the duck women would have won the NCAA tournament in 2020. They were that good. Sabrina is competitive, she would have done everything to win the tournament. I was so sad to see the games cancelled that year. I felt cheated out of seeing Sabrina and her team compete. The ducks even beat the women's Olympic team that year in their first game. That showed the level they were playing on.
  5. What an incredible game. The team really dominated. Couisnard was a beast. I saw that South Carolina was ranked 16th in the country. They sure didn't play like it. Maybe they had a bad day, like being plucked to death by some ducks. I am so proud of this team, what a journey. I hope it lasts awhile longer.
  6. The ducks can shoot threes. When they played Wash. state in Pullman they had 14 3's. Normally Cousinard, Rigsby and Shelshad can do well with threes. Evans also has made threes. I like how they are playing much better on their defense. Altman was going on about that all season. They are also utilizing Dante better. If they can beat Arizona then they have a good chance with most teams. Colorado was also playing really hard against them. I like how they put on the surge at the end of both games.
  7. Wow they play South Carolina. I don't know anything about their men's team. I know their women's bb is very good, That is where we lost PouPou. I don't know if the men's bb or football have ever played South Carolina. Anyone know anything about them?
  8. What an incredible game and tournament for the Ducks. I love their effort, they always keep fighting. Earlier in the season I saw glimpses of this team. The would play good defense for short periods of time but never sustain it. Their shooting has always been erratic. I knew if they could put it all together they could play like this. Kudos to them for believing in themselves. Dante is a tremendous player and I will really miss him. He loves his teammates and being a duck. Even when he was hurt his first two years he was the team's best cheerleader. He is a special human being. The last two games were a total team effort and I am so happy for them. I hope they can win a game or two in the tournament.
  9. Great game last night. There was good intensity. Ball movement and assists seem to have greatly improved in this game. Defense was excellent also. When they all play well this is what happens. Like one of the posters said, they realized that the game plan doesn't always have to be getting the ball to Dante.
  10. The PAC-12 could have been a lot stronger this year if USC and UCLA had actually lived up to their expectations.
  11. Biddle was playing really well last year and I expect he will be back to that in the near future. I love his enthusiasm and Dante's smile is the best. He loves being a duck. It's going to be hard for him next year. I am going to enjoy watching him the rest of the season. Go ducks.
  12. The first half and second half were polar opposites. For them to be behind by ten points and eventually win by twenty while shutting down their star player, Perez, was phenomenal and truly shows their capabilities. It's so unfortunate that they had the early injuries but unlike the last two years, they persevered and hung on until their two big guys could play. They have an ability to play at a very high level and if they can play together, improve their defense and embrace their roles on the team. Hopefully they can finish strong in conference play and earn a chance to go to the tournament. They could truly turn heads and be hard to beat. They are so fun to watch.
  13. Maybe so. I have Dish. I only seem to have these problems when I watch the PAC-12 channel.
  14. Wow. What a second half. Highest scoring percentage in Duck history, I think around 80% or more at the time the announcer commented. They were behind by ten at one point in the first half and won by twenty. Good play on both ends of the court, as they say good defense creates good offense. I think they finally got it going and finally showed how good they can really be. They finally shut down Perez the last 15 minutes, who was their top scorer and was tearing up the court in the first half. Some beautiful blocks in the game. The reception was still lousy by hopefully I can catch some highlights.
  15. I am watching the game tonight with ASU. The screen blurs, jerks, and freezes. You can hardly tell what is happening, I only know if the ball goes in because they take the ball out. I know this is not new information but it is particularly frustrating. I will not miss this channel. The ducks seem to still be having difficulty integrating the new players but it seems to be getting better. Good to see Biddle again. Now if they can just get the ball in the basket and I can actually see it happen. It would be wonderful.
  16. A great quarterback and a great person. You will be missed.
  17. The reality is that it’s probably going to take awhile for Dante and Biddle to get up to speed. Hopefully Dante plays better today but it’s definitely trial by fire for sure. The ducks usually do really well against Utah and have won there many times. They also really excel against the Arizona schools at home.
  18. I really like Rigsby's attitude and effort. He is a pure shooter and is becoming more consistent.
  19. I live in Sandy. My power was also knocked out by a very large tree for over two days. It was very cold here, down to 12 during the day on Saturday. I have never been so cold. We have a gas fireplace that gave off some heat. Finally broke down of Sunday and got a small generator for the refrigerator and lights. Very icy. Not as much tree damage as in Eugene.
  20. I am wrong, They didn't win in Boulder until last year. My mistake. Hopefully they play better than they did against Cal. I think maybe it was an emotional let down due to their high scoring game against WSU and reintegrating Dante into the line up. Hopefully we get Biddle back soon and sky's the limit.
  21. The ducks have never won in Boulder since Colorado joined the PAC. It would nice if they could win there.
  22. I am totally amazed by this team. Each person on this team contributes. They play hard. I think this game was a combination of coming off a emotional win at WSU, playing a less opponent and integrating Dante into the line-up. They had a slow start but made adjustments. As has been the case with this team, they found a way to win. I couldn't watch this game due to having no power, but was fun to listen to.
  23. Well I am very excited about this team. They are special and if they get their bigs back, the sky's the limit. Do you know why they are not playing Stanford, maybe rescheduled. I hope they can win in Colorado, Altman has never won there and it may be the last time his teams play there with all the changes. I think they have a good chance to challenge the top dogs.
  24. Yes if this team gets their bigs back who knows where things will go. I can't believe that they had 14 three points at WSU. Last year I got so frustrated because they would throw up one brick after another. They are playing with a lot of confidence. I think when you have a good point guard who can get the ball where it needs to go, it just makes the team so much better. Their turnovers are low also. They just need to stop fouling so much. They could have blown out WSU if the fouls had been less.
  25. You know that may be but they also didn't have Phil Knight who has given Oregon billions plus, for all kinds of things. There is a reason why other programs resent that. I love watching the ducks, especially the BB teams, but I also believe that Oregon should be fortunate that they are not in the same position. I also realize that Rob Mullens is an exceptional AD which does help. I am not happy Oregon is going to the BIG and I hope that within a few years the PAC can be reformed in some fashion, maybe by then the entire Division 1 system will be revamped, who knows.
