The Bucks are out for revenge? Hope that consumes them. The ducks will just continue their methodical ways as they have done all season. They have not been distracted by anything as all these other teams just chase their tails. It's actually kind of funny. Taking care of business the way the ducks do maybe boring but it is effective and will win them the championship if they can maintain that attitude.

A Championship Game in the Quarterfinals is Dumb
Sandy Rocks replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
In basketball, they do it right. Winning your conference means something. It gives you an automatic bid to the tournament and the ducks have benefited from that more than once. It does not give you a higher seed. The seeding is based on the net scores mainly which is a really good system. So far our ducks this year are number 15 which would give them a three seed. -
Oregon is going to be a thorn in Ohio State's side for many years to come and they better deal with it. Like get out of the way "deal with it." I am sure they have regretted many times letting Oregon join the BIG.

11-1 Oregon Men's B-Ball Moves Up to No.9
Sandy Rocks replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I know that the team has been ranked late in the season but rarely this early and never this high. They are the real deal. Their defense is going to keep them in games. Even when they struggled offensively in the UCLA game, they stayed close because of their defense. It is exciting seeing new players emerge. Cook and Evans have both started playing better. Evidently Altman believes that Moss is going to be a real factor or he wouldn't be starting him. These next few games are going to test their mettle for sure. We will have a better idea how well they can do. They will need to elevate their game and start making the threes. The offensive rebounds were better in the last game. -
11-1 Oregon Men's B-Ball Moves Up to No.9
Sandy Rocks replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I am very impressed with this team. The last game the bench scored 43 points. I don't know the last duck team that has done that but this team does it consistently. They played really well on Saturday. Don MacLean, the announcer who has called many duck games in the past, had a really good point. He said that individually the players have done well for other teams but they came to Oregon because they want to win as a team and it shows. They exhibit great ball movement, always looking for the best opportunity. They are going to be really fun to watch this year. If I lived in Eugene instead of the Portland area, I would have season tickets. -
I just thought I would give all you football junkies an update on your duck bb team. The score is 36-19. Finished the half with a 9-0 run. Stanford has 26% scoring. Their defense is awesome. This team is jelling and truly looks like the number ten team. So exciting.

Penn State's Victory Highlights Oregon's Dominance.
Sandy Rocks replied to CjAllen180's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
To me the play that defines Oregon this year was during the Wisconsin game. The last game of an eight game stand on a cold night when Gabriel, who hadn't played well the entire game along with most of the offense, threw a bullet to Terrance Ferguson in a fourth and nine situation. Without that and the later interception, the ducks would not be the number one seed. I think playing eight games with no breaks and flying across the country a number of times toughed the ducks. They are not the same team that played Ohio State. -
I have watched many bb tournaments and they are a whole different beast. I do feel that Lanning and Gabriel are both steady and methodical. They can lead them through the gauntlet but it is not going to be easy. I remember the second time Oregon was in the championship. I felt that the media and the pressure was much worse than the first time and Oregon couldn't handle it. There is a reason a lot of the same teams win the tournaments. They have coaches and players that have dealt with it. Lanning's experience will be invaluable.

Angel looked great last night. He was the top scorer. Luke Jackson said that he is the leader of the team. Evans also was playing really well until he got hurt. Hopefully he isn't out and can play in the next game.
-
Good news then on Evans. He played a good game, best this year that I have seen. He needs to be more aggressive in his rebounding but otherwise his game looks good. Very balanced scoring by the team although the main scorers were the bench. They scored 44 points. That is a great sign.
-
Much better in the second half. Scoring was well balanced.. Evans went down, I hope is okay, he was playing well. The only thing I see they need to do is offensive rebounding.
-
The ducks are playing a good game. The ducks have a significant size advantage and it shows.

That Prime guy has a lot of gall trying to say that his son is better than Dillon Gabriel. He just racked up a lot of stats against inferior teams. By looking at the comments that statement went over like a lead balloon. Dillon has been clutch for the ducks, especially in the big games. They wouldn't be where they are without him.

Only 12,000 Tickets Allotted To The School?
Sandy Rocks replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't understand how a game that is 850 miles and 13 hours away is considered a home game. If they had to do that in the east, they would change their opinion on that quickly. I would imagine that the expense would be excessive when considering travel, accommodations and then the overpriced tickets. I am sure it's a great experience. -
Dillon Gabriel Should Win the Heisman
Sandy Rocks replied to OregonDucks's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Part of the job of a leader and a great player is to elevate the play of his peers, How can you say that a player is truly great if his team does not excel. Without Gabriel, Oregon would not be where they are. He has made the plays that have truly changed the course of games. He is so similar to Marcus Mariota in his personality. He is calm, appreciative and methodical in his approach. He is a perfect fit to lead Oregon to the Championship and beyond. -
It's sad that the only criteria for these awards is statistics. Players impact teams in so many ways. The ducks are a balanced team that scores in a multitude of different ways but as many have stated Tez gives this team so much more. I think they are just more confident when he is in the game.
-
The ducks seemed off. They always play hard but their shots were not hitting and UCLA's shot lights out. It's amazing the ducks kept up. Their defense always keeps in them in games and probably will throughout the season. They will bounce back even stronger and probably more focused. Losing a game will do that.
-
I am curious how good Boise State really is. Oregon played them at a time when thus team had not jelled. My belief is that Oregon would probably beat them by two touchdowns. Oregon is not the same, after Ohio State they took their game to a different level.

No.12 Oregon Ducks Host UCLA at 3:00 PST on the B1G Network
Sandy Rocks replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This team plays incredible defense. They were behind by ten at one point but now are ahead by one at the half. (34-33) They just need to keep up their defense and make some shots. -
What a great article. Someone who has seen and understands these ducks who just plod along doing their thing ignoring the fray around them, singularly focused. It is amazing how the number one team is ignored so much. The media crew that called that game were much inferior to Herbstreet and Fowler who have called multiple games for the ducks and respect them.

Post- B1G Championship Game Discussion
Sandy Rocks replied to DrJacksPlaidPants's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Dillion Gabriel might not win the Heisman but he sure knows how to rise to the moment. When he needed yardage he was always able to find a receiver and of course we can't forget Tez who was the MVP. -
Altman, Graves and Lanning are all good coaches. They aren't flashy but they fit into Oregon's system and have consistently done well. I believed that the team with Sabrina was going to win the championship and this football team also. Both teams have what it takes. This year's basketball team also looks really good. All of these teams had experienced, composed and talented players who want to improve their skills and contribute to the team. I love how Altman's team has come back several times and won. He has been building towards this team but his teams have been plagued with injuries. Hopefully with the depth this year, they will avoid that. Graves' team is also starting to improve. I love watching all these teams. The future is bright. I've Just Gotta Wear !

They found a way to win even though it wasn't their night. All their experience and depth is paying off for them big time. They play well together and believe in each other. -
No.12 Ranked Oregon Men Win at USC 68-60!
Sandy Rocks replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Crazy game. The ducks are not focused either on offense or defense. Too many turnovers and missed opportunities. Hopefully Altman will knock some heads together. I don't think I have ever seen so many travels called in one game. -
Oh Goody! We Could Play Penn State and Ohio State TWICE!
Sandy Rocks replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't understand why they want the same teams who have already played each other have to play each other again. What does that prove? If the bracket is the same at the end it definitely seems like they are setting it up for a SEC team to emerge on the right side of the bracket. Regardless, the ducks just need to persevere as they have already done.
